Wearable biosensors have received great interest as patient-friendly diagnostic technologies because of their high flexibility and *** growing research and utilization of novel materials in designing wearable biosensors have accelerated the development of point-of-care sensing platforms and implantable biomedical devices in human health *** numerous potential materials,conjugated polymers(CPs)are emerging as ideal choices for constructing high-performance wearable biosensors because of their outstanding conductive and mechanical ***,CPs have been extensively incorporated into various wearable biosensors to monitor a range of target ***,fabricating highly reliable CP-based wearable biosensors for practical applications remains a significant challenge,necessitating novel developmental strategies for enhancing the viability of such ***,this review aims to provide consolidated scientific evidence by summarizing and evaluating recent studies focused on designing and fabricating CP-based wearable biosensors,thereby facilitating future *** the superior properties and benefits of CPs,this review aims to clarify their potential applicability within this ***,the fundamentals and main components of CP-based wearable biosensors and their sensing mechanisms are discussed in *** recent advancements in CP nanostructures and hybridizations for improved sensing performance,along with recent innovations in next-generation wearable biosensors are *** wearable biosensors have been—and will continue to be—an ideal platform for developing effective and user-friendly diagnostic technologies for human health monitoring.

Study on Water Resistance of Polydopamine Treatment Wood Flour/Polypropylene Composites

This paper aims to investigate the water absorption of wood flour/polypropylene composites and its effects on dimensional stability and crystallization properties. Wood-plastic composites (WPCs) makes using polydopamine modified wood flour (WF-D), virgin polypropylene, maleic anhydride-grafted polypropylene (MA) and antioxidant, by using hot-pressing moulding. Water absorption (WA), thickness swelling (TS) and failure of flexural properties of the composites have studied for a range of immersion times. It is found that the WA and TS have increased with WF content and immersion time. The water absorption and thickness swelling of WPCs are 0.85% and 0.99%, respectively, after 8 days immersion. With the prolonging of immersion time, the impact strength, flexural strength and flexural modulus of WPCs increase first and then decrease. The impact strength decreases from 3.32 kJ/m2 to 2.94 kJ/m2, the retention rate is 88.55%;the flexural strength and flexural modulus by 68.58 Mpa and 3.92 Gpa, respectively. WPCs crystallization and thermal properties decrease slightly. Microstructures of the composites are examined to understand the mechanisms for the wood-plastic interaction which affects the water absorption and thickness swelling. Our work demonstrates that using polydopamine treatment wood flour for preparing WPCs can be an efficient way to improve the water resistance of WPCs.

Analyzing physical activities through wearable devices is a promising research area for improving health *** research focuses on the development of an affordable and real-time Human Activity Recognition(HAR)system designed to operate on low-performance *** system utilizes data from a bodyworn accelerometer to recognize and classify human activities,providing a cost-effective,easy-to-use,and highly accurate solution.A key challenge addressed in this study is the execution of efficient motion recognition within a resource-constrained *** system employs a Random Forest(RF)classifier,which outperforms Gradient Boosting Decision Trees(GBDT),Support Vector Machines(SVM),and K-Nearest Neighbors(KNN)in terms of accuracy and computational *** proposed features Average absolute deviation(AAD),Standard deviation(STD),Interquartile range(IQR),Range,and Root mean square(RMS).The research has conducted numerous experiments and comparisons to establish optimal parameters for ensuring system effectiveness,including setting a sampling frequency of 50 Hz and selecting an 8-s window size with a 40%overlap between *** was conducted on both the WISDM public dataset and a self-collected dataset,focusing on five fundamental daily activities:Standing,Sitting,Jogging,Walking,and Walking the *** results demonstrated high recognition accuracy,with the system achieving 96.7%on the WISDM dataset and 97.13%on the collected *** research confirms the feasibility of deploying HAR systems on low-performance microcontrollers and highlights the system’s potential applications in patient support,rehabilitation,and elderly care.

Factors Influencing the Voluntary Disclosure of Vietnamese Listed Companies

This paper aims to investigate the factors affecting the extent of voluntary disclosure by examining the annual reports of 205 industrial and manufacturing companies listing on Ho Chi minh Stock Exchange （HSX） and Hanoi Stock Exchange （HNX） for the year of 2012. Those factors include company size, profitability, leverage, state ownership, managerial ownership, and foreign ownership, board independence, role duality, and type of external auditors. Evidence from this study suggests two main findings：（1） Companies with high foreign ownership have a high level of voluntary disclosure; （2） The company size is an important factor related to the increased level of voluntary disclosure in annual reports of Vietnamese listed companies. However, no significant associations are found between profitability, leverage, state ownership, managerial ownership, board independence, role duality, and type of external auditors as hypothesized in this study.

Enhancing compressive strength and durability of self-compacting concrete modified with controlled-burnt sugarcane bagasse ash-blended cements

In sugar industries,the growing amount of sugarcane bagasse ash(SBA),a byproduct released after burning bagasse for producing electricity,is currently causing environmental *** residual ash displays a pozzolanic potential;and hence,it has potential as a cement *** study focuses on enhancing suitability of SBA through incorporating ground blast furnace slag(BFS)in manufacturing self-compacting concretes(SCCs).For this purpose,SBA was processed by burning at 700°C for 1 h,before being ground to the cement fineness of 4010 cm2/*** mixtures were prepared by changing the proportions of SBA and BFS(i.e.,10%,20%,and 30%)in blended systems;and their performance was *** results showed that the presence of amorphous silica was detected for the processed SBA,revealing that the strength activity index was above 80%.The compressive strength of SCC containing SBA(without BFS)could reach 98%–127%of that of the control;combination of SBA and 30%BFS gets a similar strength to the control after 28 *** durability,the 10%SBA+30%BFS mix exhibited the lowest risk of ***,the joint use of SBA and BFS enhanced significantly the SCC’s sulfate ***,a hyperbolic formula for interpolating the compressive strength of the SBA-based SCC was proposed and validated with error range estimated within±10%.

Treatment 2.0 Pilot in Vietnam—Early Progress and Challenges

Announced in 2010 at the International AIDS Conference in Vienna and pioneered by the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) and the World Health Organization's (WHO) leadership at the global level, Treatment 2.0 is a new approach to the HIV response that encourages innovation, efficiency, and sustainability. Building upon WHO and UNAIDS' '3 by 5' Initiative, Treatment 2.0 focuses upon scale-up and universal access of life-saving ART treatment through strategic investments and innovations in five priority pillars that include: 1) Optimize drug regimens, 2) Provide point-of-care (POC) and other simplified diagnostic and monitoring tools, 3) Reduce costs, 4) Adapt service delivery, and 5) Mobilize communities [1-3]. The Treatment 2.0 approach is in line with UNAIDS' 2011-2015 Strategy: Getting to Zero with the vision of, 'Zero New infections;Zero discrimination;and Zero AIDS-related deaths', and as well as the four strategic directions for the health sector response outlined under WHO's Global Health Sector Strategy on HIV/AIDS 2011-2015 [4,5]. At the Sixty-fourth World Health Assembly (WHA) in May 2011, it was formally announced that Vietnam has taken the leadership to pilot Treatment 2.0 in two of its provinces, with support from both the WHO and UNAIDS country offices [6,7]. Given that Vietnam is one of the few countries with a concentrated epidemic to pilot Treatment 2.0, the outcomes and experiences of this initiative can provide valuable insight to other countries who may consider implementation. The objectives of this article are therefore to: 1) Describe the early process for translating Treatment 2.0 concept in Vietnam's context;and 2) Highlight early progress and challenges.

Normalization of VIIRS DNB images for improved estimation of socioeconomic indicators

Monthly Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite(VIIRS)Day-Night Band(DNB)composite data are widely used in research,such as estimations of socioeconomic ***,some surface conditions affect the VIIRS DNB radiance,which may create some estimation bias in certain *** this paper,we propose a novel normalization algorithm for VIIRS DNB monthly composite *** aim is to normalize VIIRS radiance,collected under different surface conditions,to a reference point,so that the bias is *** algorithm is based on the utilization of stable lit pixels as a reference and a nonlinear regression algorithm,to match un-normalized data to the reference *** results show that the algorithm could improve correlation(R2)between the total sum of nightlights(TOL),electric power consumption(EPC),and gross domestic product(GDP)at both a global and local *** algorithm could significantly diminish the seasonal component of un-normalized nightlights radiance caused by *** intensified nightlights radiance in sandy regions could also be reduced to a more reasonable range in comparison with other *** inspection shows that the brightness of snow-affected and sandy regions was strongly reduced after undergoing normalization.
