Effective removal of phosphorus from high phosphorus steel slag using carbonized rice husk

High phosphorus steel slag and carbonized rice husk are two common wastes characterized by high generation and low secondary use values.Through the reduction of high phosphorus steel slag by biomass,both wastes were fully utilized,thus reducing the negative impact on the environment.In this study,variables such as temperature,time,and amount of reactants were changed to determine the optimal conditions for the reaction of steel slag with carbonized rice husk at high temperatures.The actual amount of reducing agent consumed during the reduction was significantly greater than that predicted by theoretical calculations.Adding three carbon equivalent of carbonized rice husk and maintaining at 1500℃ for 30 min could remove 79.25% of P_(2)O_(5) in the slag.By modeling the material cycle in which high phosphorus steel slag was treated with biomass,the product could be used for crop growth.Meanwhile,the reduced iron and residual steel slag can be used tomake steel again,thereby leading to a sharp reduction in fossil fuel usage and greenhouse gas emissions in this process.

This paper focuses on the distributed cooperative learning(DCL)problem for a class of discrete-time strict-feedback multi-agent systems under directed graphs.Compared with the previous DCL works based on undirected graphs,two main challenges lie in that the Laplacian matrix of directed graphs is nonsymmetric,and the derived weight error systems exist n-step delays.Two novel lemmas are developed in this paper to show the exponential convergence for two kinds of linear time-varying(LTV)systems with different phenomena including the nonsymmetric Laplacian matrix and time delays.Subsequently,an adaptive neural network(NN)control scheme is proposed by establishing a directed communication graph along with n-step delays weight updating law.Then,by using two novel lemmas on the extended exponential convergence of LTV systems,estimated NN weights of all agents are verified to exponentially converge to small neighbourhoods of their common optimal values if directed communication graphs are strongly connected and balanced.The stored NN weights are reused to structure learning controllers for the improved control performance of similar control tasks by the“mod”function and proper time series.A simulation comparison is shown to demonstrate the validity of the proposed DCL method.

The semantic segmentation methods based on CNN have made great progress,but there are still some shortcomings in the application of remote sensing images segmentation,such as the small receptive field can not effectively capture global context.In order to solve this problem,this paper proposes a hybrid model based on ResNet50 and swin transformer to directly capture long-range dependence,which fuses features through Cross Feature Modulation Module(CFMM).Experimental results on two publicly available datasets,Vaihingen and Potsdam,are mIoU of 70.27%and 76.63%,respectively.Thus,CFM-UNet can maintain a high segmentation performance compared with other competitive networks.

In celebration of the Geological Society of China’s centennial anniversary, a seminar titled “Groundwater and Healthy & Green Development” was held on November 24-25, 2022. It was hosted by the Geological Society of China and organised by its committees on Hydrogeology, Geothermy, Medical Geology, and mine Water Prevention and Utilization. The seminar aimed to adapt to the new requirements of geological work in the new era and fully leverage the basic, leading, and binding roles of water resources. It sought to promote the conservation of water resources, the protection and ecological restoration of water environments, and the conversion of the cutting edge theoretical research in geothermal technology into achievements;and the advancement of interdisciplinary development of hydrogeology,geothermal geology, and medical geology. The seminar featured an important speech by wang min, Vice minister of the former ministry of Land and Resources of the PRC, which is included below.

In this paper,we propose and study neural network-based methods for solutions of high-dimensional quadratic porous medium equation(QPME).Three variational formulations of this nonlinear PDE are presented:a strong formulation and two weak formulations.For the strong formulation,the solution is directly parameterized with a neural network and optimized by minimizing the PDEresidual.It can be proved that the convergence of the optimization problem guarantees the convergence of the approximate solution in the L^(1)sense.Theweak formulations are derived following(Brenier in Examples of hidden convexity in nonlinear PDEs,2020)which characterizes the very weak solutions of QPME.Specifically speaking,the solutions are represented with intermediate functions who are parameterized with neural networks and are trained to optimize the weak formulations.Extensive numerical tests are further carried out to investigate the pros and cons of each formulation in low and high dimensions.This is an initial exploration made along the line of solving high-dimensional nonlinear PDEs with neural network-based methods,which we hope can provide some useful experience for future investigations.

Developing bioactive biomaterials with highly controlled functions is crucial to enhancing their applications in regenerative medicine.Citrate-based polymers are the few bioactive polymer biomaterials used in biomedicine because of their facile synthesis,controllable structure,biocompatibility,biomimetic viscoelastic mechanical behavior,and functional groups available for modification.In recent years,various multifunctional designs and biomedical applications,including cardiovascular,orthopedic,muscle tissue,skin tissue,nerve and spinal cord,bioimaging,and drug or gene delivery based on citrate-based polymers,have been extensively studied,and many of them have good clinical application potential.In this review,we summarize recent progress in the multifunctional design and biomedical applications of citrate-based polymers.We also discuss the further development of multifunctional citrate-based polymers with tailored properties to meet the requirements of various biomedical applications.

This study focuses on state-feedback and output-feedback neural learning control problems for discrete-time nonlinear systems in the pure-feedback form. First, an extended result for the exponential stability for a class of discrete-time linear time-varying(LTV) systems with n-step delays is proposed to verify the exponential convergence of estimated weights. Subsequently, both state-feedback and outputfeedback adaptive neural network(NN) controllers are constructed by combining the classical n-step and n-step input-output predictors. After ensuring convergence of the system output to a recurrent reference signal, the radial basis function subvector of NN is verified to satisfy the persistent exciting condition using the system state equation and the implicit function theorem. By combining the extended stability corollary of an LTV system, the estimated weights are verified to exponentially converge to their optimal values. By constructing "learning rules" and using a "mod" function, the estimated weights with a convergent sequence are synthetically represented and stored as the experience knowledge, which is reused to construct neural learning controllers. The proposed neural learning controllers not only accomplish similar control tasks but also reduce the burden of online computation compared with the conventional adaptive NN controllers.Finally, simulation results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the presented schemes.

Red blood cells(RBCs)are an excellent choice for cell preparation research because of their biocompatibility,high drug loading,and long half-life.In this study,doxorubicin(DOX)was encapsulated with RBCs as the carrier.The biotin-avidin system binding principle was used to modify biotinylated cyclic arginine-glycine-aspartic acid(cRGD)onto RBC surfaces for accurate targeting,high drug loading,and sustained drug release.The RBC drug delivery system(DDS)was characterized,and the concentration of surface sulfur in the energy spectrum was 6.330%.The physical and chemical properties of RBC DDS were as follows:drug content,0.857 mg/mL;particle size,3339 nm;potential value,12.5 mV;and cumulative release rate,81.35%.There was no significant change in RBC morphology for up to seven days.The results of the targeting and cytotoxicity studies of RBC DDS showed that many RBCs covered the surfaces of U251 cells,and the fluorescence intensity was higher than that of MCF-7 cells.The IC50 value of unmodified drug-loaded RBCs was 2.5 times higher than that of targeted modified drug-loaded RBCs,indicating that the targeting of cancer cells produced satisfactory inhibition.This study confirms that the RBC DDS has the characteristics of accurate targeting,high drug loading,and slow drug release,which increases its likelihood of becoming a clinical cancer treatment in the future.
