Association between luteinizing hormone level decrease on the triggering day and pregnancy outcome for in vitro fertilization/intracytoplasmic sperm injection patients following gonadotropin-releasing hormone antagonist protocol: a retrospective cohor

Objective: Optimal luteinizing hormone (LH) levels forin vitro fertilization/intracytoplasmic sperm injection (IVF/IcSI) patients following the gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) antagonist protocol remain controversial. This study aimed to estimate the association between serum LH levels on the triggering day (LHLOT) and clinical pregnancy outcomes in IVF/IcSI patients following the GnRH antagonist ***: We enrolled 4743 IVF/IcSI cycles using flexible or fixed GnRH antagonist protocols between January 2017 and June 2021. The patients were stratified into four groups according to the LHLOT quartiles (Q1–Q4). Each group was further divided into two subgroups according to the median basal LH/LHLOT. The main outcomes were clinical pregnancy, birth, and miscarriage rates. Secondary outcomes were oocyte yield, number of MII, fertilized oocytes (2PN), and high-quality ***: Serum LHLOT levels were negatively correlated with oocyte yield and the numbers of MII, 2PN, and high-quality embryos. Reproductive outcomes were compared among the different quartiles and subgroups. The absolute difference in the clinical pregnancy rates between the Q4 and Q1 groups was 6.4% (47.2%vs. 40.8%,P clinical pregnancy rates between the subgroups with basal LH/LHLOT >3.04 and ≤3.04 were 32.7% and 48.6% (P ctively, in Q1. Within Q3, the clinical pregnancy rates between the subgroups with basal LH/LHLOT >2.14 and ≤2.14 were 50.2% and 41.9%, respectively (P crease in LH levels, the lower the oocyte maturation rate across all ***: According to the LHLOT quartiles, the Q1 of serum LHLOT cytes but reduced oocyte maturation and lower clinical pregnancy rates. A decrease in LH levels by approximately 2.14 to 3.04 times compared to basal LH levels may lead to higher clinical pregnancy rates in IVF/IcSI patients following the GnRH antagonist protocol.

Effect of characteristics and distribution of Mg_(17)Al_(12)precipitates on tensile and bending properties of high-Al-containing Mg alloys

Enhanced thermal conductivity and mechanical properties of 2D c_(f)/Sic composites modified by in-situ grown carbon nanotubes

In this work,the effects of carbon nanotubes(cNTs)on the microstructure evolution,thermal conductivity,and mechanical properties of c_(f)/Sic composites during chemical vapor infiltration(cVI)densification were investigated in *** with composites without cNTs,the thermal conductivity,flexural strength,flexural modulus,fracture toughness,interfacial shear strength,and proportional limit stress of specimens with cNTs of 4.94 wt%were improved by 117%,21.8%,67.4%,10.3%,36.4%,and 71.1%,*** improvement was attributed to the role of cNTs in the division of inter-layer pores,which provided abundant vapor growth sites for the ceramic matrix and promoted densification of the whole *** addition,the high thermal conductivity network formed by the overlap of cNTs and the rivet strengthening effect of cNTs were beneficial for synergistic improvement of thermal conductivity and mechanical properties of the ***,this study has practical significance for the development of thermal protection composite components with enhanced thermal conductivity and mechanical characteristics.

Effects of Andrade and Burgers rheologies on glacial isostatic adjustment modeling in Antarctica

Variations in ice mass deform the Earth and modify its gravity field, a process known as Glacial Isostatic Adjustment(GIA). GIA in Antarctica remains poorly constrained due to the cumulative effect of past and present ice-mass changes, the unknown history of the past ice-mass change, and the uncertainties on the mechanical properties of the Earth. This paper investigates the effect of using Andrade and Burgers viscoelastic rheologies, rather than the commonly used Maxwell rheology, to model GIA-induced deformation in Antarctica. The Love number and Green's function formalism are used to compute the radial surface displacements and the gravity changes induced by the past and present ice-mass changes. We consider an Earth model whose elastic properties and radial structure are averaged from the Preliminary Reference Earth Model and two viscosity profiles to account for the recently published results on the present ice-mass changes. Using the three rheological laws affects the temporal response of the Earth differently, leading to smaller discrepancies than those induced by the two viscosity structures. The differences are the largest between Maxwell and Burgers rheologies during the 100-1000 years following the beginning of the surface-mass change. Results show that using the Andrade and Burgers rheologies allows the Earth to respond on decennial to centennial time scales, up to 10 m more than Maxwell. considering only the recent ice-mass changes, the deformation rates derived from Burgers and Andrade rheologies are several times larger than those estimated by Maxwell rheology.

Unveiling the secrets of diatom-mediated calcification: Implications for the biological pump

Siliceous diatoms are one of the most prominent actors in the oceans, and they account for approximately 40% of the primary production and particulate organic carbon export flux. It is believed that changes in carbon flux caused by variations in diatom distribution can lead to significant climate shifts. Although the fundamental pathways of diatom-driven carbon sequestration have long been established, there are no reports of cacO3precipitation induced by marine diatom species. This manuscript introduces novel details regarding the enhancement of aragonite precipitation during photosynthesis in Skeletonema costatum in both artificial and natural seawater. Through direct measurements of cell surfaces via a pH microelectrode and zeta potential analyzer, it was determined that the diatom-mediated promotion of cacO3precipitation is achieved through the creation of specific microenvironments with concentrated [cO32–] and [ca2+] and/or the dehydrating effect of adsorbed ca2+.Based on this mechanism, it is highly plausible that diatom-mediated calcification could occur in the oceans, an assertion that was supported by the significant deviation of total alkalinity（TA） from the conservative TA-salinity mixing line during a Skeletonema costatum bloom in the East china Sea and other similar occurrences. The newly discovered calcification pathway establishes a link between particulate inorganic and organic carbon flux and thus helps in the reassessment of marine carbon export fluxes and cO2sequestration efficiency. This discovery may have important ramifications for assessing marine carbon cycling and predicting the potential effects of future ocean acidification.

Surface modification of graphite anode with electroactive matters has been proven of a more practical strategy in enhancing the performance of Li-ion batteries than exploring alternative novel anode ***,rutile TiNbO_(4-x) nanoparticles with a tunnel structure are employed as multifunctional decoration substances in combination with a carbon coating layer to improve the rate and cycle properties of mesocarbon microbeads(McMBs).As compared to pristine McMB,the Li^(+)diffusion coefficients of the composite anodes are enhanced due to the synergistic effect of TiNbO_(4-x)@***,the overcharge and voltage polarization of the composite anodes at high rate are obviously minimized due to the current sharing effect of the high-potential TiNbO_(4-x).Moreover,the amorphous Li_(y)TiNbO_(4-x) converted from TiNbO_(4-x) in the initial lithiation process can deliver pseudocapacitive capacity to the composite anodes from the second *** of these functions of TiNbO_(4-x)@ccoating layer have directly contributed to the improved rate and cycle performance of the McMB/TiNbO_(4-x)@c composite *** one containing 12.0 wt%TiNbO_(4-x) exhibits a high reversible specific capacity of 118 m Ah·g^(-1)at 10c(1c=372 m A·g^(-1)),together with a high capacity retention of 90.9%after 300 cycles at 3c,which are all much superior to those of pristine McMB.

The prevalence of obesity has increased and is a health concern *** to the concerns regarding synthetic anti-obesity treatments,nowadays natural products become a *** studies proved that there is a potential to use marine algae as anti-obesity ***,in this study,the lipid inhibitory effect of crude polysaccharide of amyloglucosidase-assisted hydrolysate from Sargassum thunbergii(STAc)and its fucoidan fractions(STAFs)on 3T3-L1 cells and high-fat diet(HFD)-induced obese mice were *** to the results,the STAF3,showed the highest xylose content and exhibited significant inhibitory effects on lipid accumulation by downregulating adipogenic and lipogenic proteins in 3T3-L1 ***,oral supplementation with STAc significantly declined gain in body weight and fat weight,and serum lipid contents in an HFD-induced obesity mouse *** and chemical characterizations demonstrated that puritied STAF3 has consistent surface morphology and small particle size,with similar structural characteristics as commercial ***,these results indicate that STAc and purified STAF3 from Sargassum thunbergia is a potent source to develop as ananti-obesity agents or functional food products to counter obesity.

Organic compounds have the advantages of green sustainability and high designability,but their high solubility leads to poor durability of zinc-organic ***,a high-performance quinone-based polymer(H-PNADBQ)material is designed by introducing an intramolecular hydrogen bonding(HB)*** intramolecular HB(c=O⋯N-H)is formed in the reaction of 1,4-benzoquinone and 1,5-naphthalene diamine,which efficiently reduces the H-PNADBQ solubility and enhances its charge transfer in *** situ ultraviolet-visible analysis further reveals the insolubility of H-PNADBQ during the electrochemical cycles,enabling high durability at different current ***,the H-PNADBQ electrode with high loading(10 mg cm^(-2))performs a long cycling life at 125 mA g^(-1)(>290 cycles).The H-PNADBQ also shows high rate capability(137.1 mAh g^(−1)at 25 A g^(−1))due to significantly improved kinetics inducted by intramolecular *** work provides an efficient approach toward insoluble organic electrode materials.

Pulsed laser interference patterning of transition-metal carbides for stable alkaline water electrolysis kinetics

We investigated the role of metal atomization and solvent decomposition into reductive species and carbon clusters in the phase formation of transition-metal carbides(TMcs;namely,co_(3)c,Fe_(3)c,Tic,and Moc)by pulsed laser ablation of co,Fe,Ti,and Mo metals in *** interaction between carbon s-p-orbitals and metal d-orbitals causes a redistribution of valence structure through charge transfer,leading to the formation of surface defects as observed by X-ray photoelectron *** defects influence the evolved TMcs,making them effective for hydrogen and oxygen evolution reactions(HER and OER)in an alkaline ***_(3)c with more oxygen affinity promoted coO(OH)intermediates,and the electrochemical surface oxidation to co_(3)O_(4)was captured via in situ/operando electrochemical Raman probes,increasing the number of active sites for OER *** with more d-vacancies exhibits strong hydrogen binding,promoting HER kinetics,whereas Fe_(3)c and Tic with more defect states to trap charge carriers may hinder both OER and HER *** results show that the assembled membrane-less electrolyzer with co_(3)c∥co_(3)c and Moc∥Moc electrodes requires~2.01 and 1.99 V,respectively,to deliver a 10 mA cm−2 with excellent electrochemical and structural *** addition,the ascertained pulsed laser synthesis mechanism and unit-cell packing relations will open up sustainable pathways for obtaining highly stable electrocatalysts for electrolyzers.
