BACKGROUND Sarcomatoid carcinoma of the pancreas is extremely rare and has an extremely poor *** a few cases of sarcomatoid carcinoma of pancreas have been reported,most are focused on a histopathological *** the best of our knowledge,there are no reports documenting multimodality imaging characteristics and chronological changes with emphasis on radiologic *** SUMMARY A 64-year-old woman was admitted to Chungnam National University Hospital with acute ***-enhanced computed tomography of the abdomen revealed a 2.6 cm×2.8 cm multilobular cystic mass in the pancreatic *** pancreatic lesion showed suspected mural nodules and thin ***,mucinous cystic neoplasm of pancreas was *** 7 mo,the patient was readmitted for repeated epigastric abdominal pain and ***-up contrast-enhanced computed tomography of the abdomen and magnetic resonance imaging revealed a marked enlargement(5.4 cm×4 cm),with a predominant internal solid *** mass showed low signal intensity on a T1-weighted image and heterogeneously intermediate high signal intensity on a T2-weighted image. It showed diffusion restriction and peripheral rimenhancement on an arterial phase image, and progressive enhancement on portalvenous and delayed phase images. Distal pancreatectomy was performed. Turbulent vortex trains in narrow square arrayed rod bundles of a dual-cooled nuclear reactor

The dual-cooled nuclear reactor is currently considered for improving the designs of current/future nuclear reactors. Investigation of the thermal-hydraulic characteristics of the nuclear reactor via experiments is essential for commercializing the dual-cooled nuclear reactor. In this paper, the turbulent flow in square arrayed six-rod bundles in the form of magnified copies of the dual-cooled and current OPR-1000 nuclear reactor is experimentally investigated by means of hot-wire anemometry and smoke-wire generation methods. Vortex trains which do not exist in an ordinary reactor subchannel are presented in the subchannel of the dual-cooled reactor. The vortices are induced by a span-wise velocity gradient. This flow pulsation phenomenon increases the inter-channel mixing of the subchannel. To understand the periodic feature of the pulsation, axial/cross velocities are measured and the periodic characteristic frequencies are obtained by a Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) analysis. The peak frequency that represents the quasi-periodic pulsation of the flow is increased with an increase in the axial velocity while the wavelength of the pulsation remains constant within a tested range of the Reynolds number (9000 51000). The vortex trains are highly synchronized with each other, as confirmed by means of visualization.

Primary malignant melanoma of uterine cervix: a suggestion of new scheme of treatment combination

Historically, the lack of melanocytes in the vaginal and cervical mucus membranes has deterred the findings of primary melanomas. Mainly due to its rarity, difficulty to diagnose, and poor prognosis, there has been no absolute agreement on comprehensive treatment so far. In this case report, we present a case of a 46-year-old woman with primary malignant melanoma of uterine cervix. She underwent neo-adjuvant chemotherapy initially followed by a radical hysterectomy. After adjuvant concurrent chemo-radiation, the patient has been followed up for 24 months. So far, she has not shown any symptoms or signs of recurrence. Further studies with more cases based on variable combinations of treatment regimen have been on the way.

Dear Editor, The LATERAL ORGAN BOUNDARIES DOMAIN （LBD）/ ASYMMETRICLEAVES2-LIKE （ASL） genes （hereafter referred to as LBD） encode proteins containing a conserved plant-specific LOB domain and play roles in lateral organ development （Iwakawa et al., 2002; Shuai et al., 2002; Majer and Hochholdinger, 2011）. The LOB domain is approximately 100 amino acids in length and contains a conserved four-Cys motif （CX2CX6CX3C）, the Gly-Ala-Ser block （GAS）, and the leucine-zipper-like coiled-coil motif （LX6LX3LX6L）（Shuai et al., 2002）. The leucine-zipper-like coiled-coil motif in the LOB domain is predicted to function in protein dimerization. LOB, AS2, and LBD4 preferentially bind unique DNA sequences in electrophoretic mobility shift assays （EMSAs）（Husbands et al., 2007）. Extract from Zanthoxylum piperitum Induces Apoptosis of AGS Gastric Cancer Cells through Akt/MDM2/p53 Signaling Pathway

Objective:To determine the effect of Zanthoxylum piperitum extracet(ZPE)on apoptosis and analyze anticancer substances in ZPE,changes in proteins related to apoptosis,and pathological changes in tumors in ***:Fifteen 4-week-old female BALB/c nu/nu mice were divided into 3 groups depending on ZPE dose,with 5 in each *** gastric carcinoma cells(1 x 10^(6) cells/200 jxL)were subcutaneously injected into the flank of each *** week after the injection of AGS cells,ZPE was administered to the skin tissue[10 or 50 mg/(kg-d)]in the low-and high-dose groups,respectively for 20 *** animals were injected with vehicle *** 3 weeks,the tumor was extracted and carried out for immunohistochemistry,the tendency of apoptosis and p53 in the body was checked using TdT-mediated dUTP nick-end labeling(TUNEL)*** 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide(MTT)assay,annexin V dead cell staining,cell cycle arrest and Western blotting,AGS gastric carcinoma cells were incubated with various concentrations of ZPE for 24 *** survival rates were analyzed by MTT *** was analyzed using annexin V dead cell staining and cell cycle arrest and measured using Muse cell ***:High performance liquid chromatography(HPLC)analysis showed that ZPE contained organic sulfur compounds such as alliin and *** assay results revealed that ZPE(10-85»xg/mL)could effectively inhibit the growth of AGS gastric cancer cells at higher concentrations(P<0.05,P<0.01).The annexin V&dead cell staining assay and cell cycle arrest assay confirmed a dose-dependent increase in the apoptosis rate and G!phase in ZPE(10-70 jig/mL)*** decreased the expression of anti-apoptotic proteins(p-Akt,p-MDM2,Bcl-2),while increased pro-apoptotic proteins(cleaved PARP,p53,pro-Caspase 3,Bax).TUNEL assays revealed an increase in cell *** staining confirmed the involvement of ***:ZPE decreases AGS cell

Evaluation of the relationship between two different methods for enumeration fecal indicator bacteria: Colony-forming unit and most probable number

Most probable number （MPN） and colony-forming unit （CFU） estimates of fecal indicator bacteria （FIB） concentration are common measures of water quality in aquatic environments. Thus, FIB intensively monitored in Yeongsan Watershed in an attempt to compare two different methods and to develop a statistical model to convert from CFU to MPN estimates or vice versa. As a result, the significant difference was found in the MPN and CFU estimates. The enumerated Escherichia coli concentrations in MPN are greater than those in CFU, except for the measurement in winter. Especially in fall, E. coli concentrations in MPN are one order of magnitude greater than that in CFU. Contrarily, enterococci bacteria in MPN are lower than those in CFU. However, in general, a strongly positive relationship are found between MPN and CFU estimates. Therefore, the statistical models were developed, and showed the reasonable converting FIB concentrations from CFU estimates to MPN estimates. We expect this study will provide preliminary information towards future research on whether different analysis methods may result in different water quality standard violation frequencies for the same water sample.

Cavity-Suppressing Electrode Integrated with Multi-Quantum Well Emitter:A Universal Approach Toward High-Performance Blue TADF Top Emission OLED

A novel device structure for thermally activated delayed fluorescence(TADF)top emission organic light-emitting diodes(TEOLEDs)that improves the viewing angle characteristics and reduces the efficiency roll-off is ***,we describe the design and fabrication of a cavity-suppressing electrode(CSE),Ag(12 nm)/WO_(3)(65 nm)/Ag(12 nm)that can be used as a transparent *** the TADF-TEOLED fabricated using the CSE exhibits higher external quantum efficiency(EQE)and improved angular dependency than the device fabricated using the microcavity-based Ag electrode,it suffers from low color purity and severe efficiency *** drawbacks can be reduced by using an optimized multi-quantum well emissive layer(MQW EML).The CSE-based TADF-TEOLED with an MQW EML fabricated herein exhibits a high EQE(18.05%),high color purity(full width at half maximum~59 nm),reduced efficiency roll-off(~46%at 1000 cd m^(−2)),and low angular *** improvements can be attributed to the synergistic effect of the CSE and MQW *** optimized transparent CSE improves charge injection and light outcoupling with low angular dependence,and the MQW EML effectively confines charges and excitons,thereby improving the color purity and EQE *** proposed approach facilitates the optimization of multiple output characteristics of TEOLEDs for future display applications.

The peroxisomal matrix oxidase,catalase and peroxidase are imported peroxisomes through the shuttling receptors,which regulates the cellular oxidative homeostasis and ***,we report that PTS1 shuttling receptor FvPex5 is involved in the localization of PTS1,utilization of carbon sources and lipids,elimination ROS,cell wall stress,conidiation,fumonisin B_(1)(FB_(1))production,and virulence in maize pathogen Fusarium ***,differential expression of PTS1-,PTS2-,PEX-and FB_(1)toxin-related genes in wild type andΔFvpex5 mutant were examined by RNA-Seq analyses and confirmed by RT-PCR *** addition,different expression of PTS1 and PTS2 genes of theΔFvpex5 mutant were enriched in diverse biochemical pathways,such as carbon metabolism,nitrogen metabolism,lipid metabolism and the oxidation balance by combining GO and KEGG ***,we showed that FvPex5 is involved in the regulation of genes associated with PTS,thereby affecting the oxidation balance,FB_(1)and virulence in *** results help to clarify the functional divergence of Pex5 orthologs,and may provide a possible target for controlling *** infections and FB_(1)biosynthesis.
