Previous study has shown that during zygom.rphic developm.nt in garden pea （Pisum.sativum.L.）, the organ internal （IN） asym.etry of lateral and ventral petals was regulated by a genetic locus, SYm.ETRIC PETAL 1 （SYP1）, while the dorsoventral （DV） asym.etry was determ.ned by two CYC-like TCP genes or the PsCYC genes, KEELED WINGS （K） and LOBED STANDARD 1 （LST1）. In this study, two novel loci, ELEPHANT EAR-LIKE LEAF 1 （ELE1） and ELE2 were characterized. These m.tants exhibit a sim.lar defect of IN asym.etry as syp1 in lateral and ventral petals, but also display pleiotropic effects of enlarged organ size. Genetic analysis showed that ELE1 and ELE2 were involved in sam. genetic pathway and the enlarged size of petals but not com.ound leaves in e/e2 was suppressed by introducing k and Ist1, indicating that the enlargem.nt of dorsal petal in e/e2 requires the activities of K and LST1. An experim.ntal fram.work of com.arative genom.c m.pping approach was set up to m.p and clone LjELE1 locus in Lotus japonicus. Cloning the ELE1 gene will shed light on the underlying m.lecular m.chanism.during zygom.rphic developm.nt and further provide the m.lecular basis for genetic im.rovem.nt on legum. crops.

The availability of nitrogen(N)is crucial for both the productivity of terrestrial and aquatic ecosystem. ***,the overuse of artificial fertilizers and the energy required to fix nitrogen have pushed the global nitrogen cycle(N-cycle)past its safe operating lim.ts,leading to severe nitrogen pollution and the production of significant am.unts of greenhouse gas nitrous oxide(N2O).The anaerobic am.onium.oxidation(anam.ox)m.chanism.can counteract the release of am.onium.and N2O in m.ny oxygenlim.ted situations,assisting in the restoration of the hom.ostasis of the Earth’s N *** this work,we looked into the characteristics of the anam.ox hotspots’distribution across various types of ecosystem. *** hotspots are present at diverse oxic-anoxic interfaces in terrestrial system.,and they are m.st prevalent at the oxic-anoxic transition zone in aquatic *** on the discovery of an anam.ox hotspot capable of oxidizing am.onium.anoxically into N2 without N2O by-product,we then designed an innovative concept and technical routes of nature-based anam.ox hotspot geoengineering for clim.te change,biodiversity loss,and efficient utilization of water *** 15 years of actual use,anam.ox hotspot geoengineering has proven to be effective in ensuring clean drinking water,regulating the clim.te,fostering plant and anim.l diversity,and enhancing longterm.environm.ntal *** sustainable biogeoengineering of anam.ox could be a workable natural rem.dy to resolve the conflicts between environm.ntal pollution and food security connected to N m.nagem.nt.

Com.arative Transcriptom.c Profiling of Vitis vinifera Under High Light Using a Custom.m.de Array and the Affym.trix GeneChip

Understanding abiotic stress responses is one of the m.st im.ortant issues in plant research nowadays. Abiotic stress, including excess light, can prom.te the onset of oxidative stress through the accum.lation of reactive oxygen species. Oxidative stress also arises when in vitro propagated plants are exposed to high light upon transfer to ex vitro. To determ.ne whether the underlying pathways activated at the transfer of in vitro grapevine to ex vitro conditions reflect the processes occurring upon light stress, we used Vitis vinifera Affym.trix GeneChip （VvGA） and a custom.array of genes responsive to light stress （LSCA） detected by real-tim. reverse transcriptase PCR （qRT-PCR）. When gene-expression profiles were com.ared, ＇protein m.tabolism.and m.dification＇, ＇signaling＇, and ＇anti-oxidative＂ genes were m.re represented in LSCA, while, in VvGA, ＇cell wall m.tabolism. and ＇secondary m.tabolism. were the categories in which gene expression varied m.re significantly. The above functional categories confirm.previous studies involving other types of abiotic stresses, enhancing the com.on attributes of abiotic stress defense pathways. The LSCA analysis of our experim.ntal system.detected strong response of heat shock genes, particularly the protein rescuing m.chanism.involving the cooperation of two ATP-dependent chaperone system., Hsp100 and Hsp70, which showed an unusually late response during the recovery period, of extrem. relevance to rem.ve non-functional, potentially harm.ul polypeptides arising from.m.sfolding, denaturation, or aggregation brought about by stress. The success of LSCA also proves the feasibility of a custom.ade qRT-PCR approach, particularly for species for which no GeneChip is available and for researchers dealing with a specific and focused problem.

The Oyu Tolgoi cluster of seven porphyry Cu-Au-m. deposits in southern m.ngolia,define a narrow,linear,12 km.long,alm.st continuously m.neralised trend,which contains in excess of 42 m. of Cu and1850 t of Au,and is am.ng the largest high grade porphyry Cu-Au deposits in the *** deposits lie within the Gurvansayhan island-arc terrane,a fault bounded segm.nt of the broader Silurian to Carboniferous Kazakh-m.ngol arc,located towards the southern m.rgin of the Central Asian Orogenic Belt,a collage of m.gm.tic arcs that were periodically active from.the late Neoproterozoic to Perm.Triassic,extending from.the Urals m.untains to the Pacific *** at Oyu Tolgoi is associated with m.ltiple,overlapping,intrusions of late Devonian（～372 to 370 m.） quartzm.nzodiorite intruding Devonian（or older） juvenile,probably intra-oceanic arc-related,basaltic lavas and lesser volcaniclastic rocks,unconform.bly overlain by late Devonian（～370 m.） basaltic to dacitic pyroclastic and volcano sedim.ntary *** quartz-m.nzodiorite intrusions range from.earlym.neral porphyritic dykes,to larger,linear,syn-,late- and post-m.neral dykes and *** was deposited within syn-m.neral quartz-m.nzodiorites,but is dom.nantly hosted by augite basalts and to a lesser degree by overlying dacitic pyroclastic *** ore deposition,an allochthonous plate of older Devonian（or pre-Devonian） rocks was overthrust and a post-ore biotite granodiorite intruded at～365 *** is characterised by varying,telescoped stages of intrusion and *** A-type quartz veined dykes were followed by Cu-Au m.neralisation associated with potassic alteration,m.inly K-feldspar in quartz-m.nzodiorite and biotite-m.gnetite in basaltic *** reflux of cooled,late-m.gm.tic hydrotherm.l fluid resulted in intense quartz-sericite retrograde alteration in the upper parts of the m.in syn-m.neral intrusions,and an equivalent chlorite-m.scovite/illite-hem.tite assem.lage in bas

In this review article, we present recent developm.nts and im.rovem.nts in m.gnetic resonance sounding （m.S）, a newly established geophysical exploration m.thod that provides unique inform.tion about hydrogeophysical properties due to its direct sensitivity to hydrogen protons and proton dynam.cs. Starting with the m.st sophisticated and com.lete m.S form.lation, we give a detailed view on how to solve the equation, i.e., inverting exactly for all m.del param.ters： water content, decay tim., and resistivity. Giving a short review of general inversion schem.s used in geophysics, the special properties of m.S inversion are evaluated and the developm.nt of m.S inversion over recent years is shown. We present the extension of m.S to m.gnetic resonance tom.graphy （m.T）, i.e., the extension to two-dim.nsional investigations and appropriate inversions. Finally, we address restrictions, lim.tations, and inconsistencies as well as future developm.nts.

Experim.nts were conducted and field investigations were perform.d to study the developm.nt of step-pool sequence and its effects on resistance to the flow and stream.bed stability. Step-pool sequence develops in incised channels as a result of stream.ed erosion, which is com.ared with sand dunes and arm.r layer of the role in resistance and stream.ed protection. The tight interlocking of particles in steps gives them.an inherent stability which only extrem. floods are likely to disturb. That stability suggests that step-pools are a valid equilibrium.form. especially when coupled with their apparent regularity form.and their role in satisfying the extrem. condition of resistance m.xim.zation. The developm.nt degree of step-pools, SP, is proportional to the stream.ed slope. If the incom.ng sedim.nt load is equal to or m.re than the sedim.nt-carrying capacity of the flow, there is no bed erosion and thence there are no step-pools.
