Canadian children’s and youth’s adherence to the 24-h movement guidelines during the COVId-19 pandemic: A decision tree analysis

Purpose:The purpose of this study was to use decision tree modeling to generate profiles of children and youth who were more and less likely to meet the Canadian 24-h movement guidelines during the coronavirus disease-2019(COVId-19)***:data for this study were from a nationally representative sample of 1472 Canadian parents(Meanage=45.12,Sd=7.55)of children(511 years old)or youth(1217 years old).data were collected in April 2020 via an online *** items assessed demographic,behavioral,social,micro-environmental,and macro-environmental *** decision trees of adherence and non-adherence to all movement recommendations combined and each individual movement recommendation(physical activity(PA),screen time,and sleep)were ***:Results revealed specific combinations of adherence and non-adherence *** associated with adherence to the recommendation(s)included high parental perceived capability to restrict screen time,annual household income ofCAd 100,000,increases in children’s and youth’s outdoor PA/sport since the COVId-19 outbreak began,being a boy,having parents younger than 43 years old,and small increases in children’s and youth’s sleep duration since the COVId-19 outbreak *** associated with non-adherence to the recommendation(s)included low parental perceived capability to restrict screen time,youth aged 1217 years,decreases in children’s and youth’s outdoor PA/sport since the COVId-19 outbreak began,primary residences located in all provinces except Quebec,low parental perceived capability to support children’s and youth’s sleep and PA,and annual household income ofCAd 99,***:Our results show that specific characteristics interact to contribute to(non)adherence to the movement behavior *** highlight the importance of targeting parents’perceived capability for the promotion of children’s and youth’s movement behaviors during challengin

The human application of gene therapy to re-program T-cell specificity using chimeric antigen receptors

The adoptive transfer of T cells is a promising approach to treat cancers. Primary human T cells can be modified using viral and non-viral vectors to promote the specific targeting of cancer cells via the introduction of exogenous T-cell receptors(TCRs) or chimeric antigen receptors(CARs). This gene transfer displays the potential to increase the specificity and potency of the anticancer response while decreasing the systemic adverse effects that arise from conventional treatments that target both cancerous and healthy cells. This review highlights the generation of clinical-grade T cells expressing CARs for immunotherapy, the use of these cells to target B-cell malignancies and, particularly, the first clinical trials deploying the Sleeping Beauty gene transfer system, which engineers T cells to target Cd19+ leukemia and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.

Use of electroporation as an option to transform the horn fly, Haematobia irritans： a species recalcitrant to microinjection

The horn fly, Haematobia irritans, is a serious pest of cattle in North America. The control of horn flies has primarily relied on insecticides. However, the heavy use of insecticides has led to the development of insecticide resistance in horn flies. Novel methods to control horn flies are greatly needed. Transgenic technology is an effective tool to genetically modify insects and may lead to novel methods of pest control based on genomic approaches. Here we report apiggyBac-mediated transformation of the horn fly via electroporation. Transformation with a dsRed fluorescent marker protein coding region was verified by PCR analysis of individual fly bodies and pupal cases and sequencing of PCR products. However, Southern blot analysis failed to indicate the dsRed gene was integrated into the horn fly genome. Thus, the electroporation protocol may have caused the dsRed gene to be integrated into bacterial symbionts of the horn fly.

本文旨在探讨中国在墨西哥的直接投资。尽管目前墨西哥获得的投资流入较少,还存在诸多不足之处,如与在南美的投资相比,中国在墨西哥的直接投资微乎其微。但是,中国的高经济增长率使中国投资者获得了墨西哥能源行业、制造业和汽车行业的股份。在公司层面,中国的收购协议不断扩大、趋于多元化,全球供应商体系也带动了墨西哥经济的发展。本文所进行的研究旨在说明中国对制造业和能源部门这两个对墨西哥经济极为重要的部门进行直接投资的利弊。为了进行更全面的分析,本文将以在墨西哥的中国公司为例进行结构化比较,深入分析先前中墨达成的双边协议和外交关系以及根据投资情况所建立的所有协议。本文还将根据中国在墨西哥的投资来分析中美墨三角关系,墨西哥经济最重要的因素之一是与北方邻国美国的自由贸易协定,这使得美墨关系十分紧密,而中国在墨西哥的投资重复了这一问题。

Analysis and Control of Modular Multi-terminal dC Power Flow Controller with Fault Current Limiting Function

In order to overcome the problems of power flow control and fault current limiting in multi-terminal high voltage direct current(MTdC)grids,this paper proposes a modular multi-terminal dC power flow controller(MM-dCPFC)with fault current limiting *** topology structure,operation principle,and equivalent circuit of MM-dCPFC are introduced,and such a structure has the advantages of modularity and *** power balance mechanism is studied and a hierarchical power balance control strategy is *** results show that MM-dCPFC can achieve internal power exchange,which avoids the use of external power *** fault characteristics of MM-dCPFC are analyzed,fault current limiting and self-protection methods are proposed,and the factors affecting the current limiting capability are *** simulation models are established in PLECS,and the simulation results verify the effectiveness of MM-dCPFC in power flow control,fault current limiting,and *** addition,a prototype is developed to validate the function and control method of MM-dCPFC.
