Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is rarely associated with autoimmune paraneoplastic *** report a case of anti-transcriptional intermediary factor-1 gamma(TIF1-γ)-positive dermatomyositis(DM)as clinical presentation of HCC recurrence in a 72-year-old male patient admitted to our hospital due to fatigue,myalgia,and typical skin *** medical history was notable for hepatitis C-related cirrhosis,successful treatment with direct-acting antiviral agents,and previously efficacious treatment of *** testing showed significant rhabdomyolysis with antiTIF1-γantibodies at high titer,and DM was *** a careful diagnostic workup,HCC recurrence was *** first-line corticosteroid treatment,azathioprine and intravenous immunoglobulin treatments were administered;unfortunately,he mounted only partial *** to the compromised performance status,no HCC treatment was feasible,and,according to international guidelines,he received only best supportive ***,we discuss the diagnostic,prognostic,and pathogenic roles of anti-TIF1-γantibodies associated with paraneoplastic DM and the scant literature data on its occurrence in HCC *** the TIF1 gene family’s established role in oncogenesis,we also review the role of TIF1-γas a tumor-related neoantigen,leading to the development of clinically overt antiTIF1-γantibodies-positive DM.

Therapeutic strategies for post-transplant recurrence of hepatocellular carcinoma

Despite stringent selection criteria,hepatocellular carcinoma recurrence after liver transplantation(LT)still occurs in up to 20%of cases,mostly within the first 2–3 *** adjuvant treatments to prevent such an occurrence have been developed so ***,a balanced use of immunosuppression with minimal dose of calcineurin inhibitors and possible addition of mammalian target of rapamycin inhibitors is strongly ***,several pre-and posttransplant predictors of recurrence have been identified and may help determine the frequency and duration of post-transplant *** recurrence occurs,the outcomes are poor with a median survival of 12 mo according to most retrospective *** factor that most impacts survival after recurrence is timing(within 1–2 years from LT according to different authors).Several therapeutic options may be chosen in case of recurrence,according to timing and disease *** treatment seems to provide a survival benefit,especially in case of late recurrence,while the benefit of locoregional treatments has been suggested only in small retrospective *** systemic treatment is indicated,sorafenib has been proved safe and effective,while only few data are available for lenvatinib and regorafenib in second *** use of immune checkpoint inhibitors is controversial in this setting,given the safety warnings for the risk of acute rejection.

Satellite-terrestrial integrated(STI) systems represent the right solution to meet complex requirements of several services and sharing of the limited spectral resources between satellite systems and terrestrial ones must be considered to optimize performance. Network architectures and traffic demand are different for the satellite component and for the terrestrial 5G/6G one, so that the requirements of spectral resources for satellite and terrestrial systems are expected to vary dynamically in a significant range.

Platelet-rich plasma： combinational treatment modalities for musculoskeletal conditions

Current research on common musculoskeletal problems, including osteoart]cular cona]t]ons, tendinopathies, and muscle injuries, focuses on regenerative translational medicine. Platelet-rich plasma therapies have emerged as a potential approach to enhance tissue repair and regeneration. Platelet-rich plasma application aims to provide supraphysiological concentrations of platelets and optionally leukocytes at injured/pathological tissues mimicking the initial stages of healing. However, the efficacy of platelet-rich plasma is controversial in chronic diseases because patients＇ outcomes show partial improvements. Platelet-rich plasma can be customized to specific conditions by selecting the most appropriate formulation and timing for application or by combining platelet-rich plasma with synergistic or complementary treatments. To achieve this goal, researchers should identify and enhance the main mechanisms of healing. In this review, the interactions between platelet-rich plasma and healing mechanisms were addressed and research opportunities for customized treatment modalities were outlined. The development of combinational platelet-rieh plasma treatments that can be used safely and effectively to manipulate healing mechanisms would be valuable and would provide insights into the processes involved in physiological healing and pathological failure.

Ecological damage of submerged macrophyte Myriophyllum spicatum by cell extracts from microcystin(MC)-and non-MC-producing cyanobacteria,Microcystis

To explore how decomposed Microcystis-dominant cyanobacterial blooms affect submerged macrophytes,the submerged plant Myriophyllum spicatum was exposed to cell extracts from microcystin(MC)-and non-MC-producing Microcystis strains in a laboratory *** showed that both Mcracystis cell extracts exerted obvious damages to plant biomass,photosynthesis,primary and secondary metabolism measures,and resistance of plant antioxidant systems,with MC-producing Microcystis having stronger effects due to the presence of *** other than MCs responsible for the negative effects from both strains needs further *** Shannon diversity and Chao1 indices of epiphytic and planktonic bacteria were decreased by the cell extracts from both Microcystis ***,epiphytic and planktonic bacterial communities responded differently to cell extracts at the genus *** dominant genera of planktonic bacteria including Enterobacter,Pseudomonas,and Novosphingobium from phylum Proteobacteria,Chryseobacterium from phylum Bacteroidetes,and Microbacterium from Actinobacteriota in the treatments with cell extracts were previously reported to have strains with algicidal and MC-degrading capabilities.B acterial genes associated with energy production and conversion,amino acid transport and metabolism,and inorganic ion transport and metabolism,were more abundant in both treatments than the control for planktonic bacteria,but less abundant for epiphytic *** speculate that planktonic bacterial communities have the potential to use and degrade substances derived from Microcystis cell extracts,which may be beneficial for *** to alleviate damages from *** research is needed to verify the structure and function dynamics of epiphytic and planktonic bacteria in the interaction between cyanobacteria and submerged macrophytes.

Selenium(Se)is an essential micronutrient that plays an important role in animal and human development and physiological *** review surveys the role of Se in the environment,plants and animal bodies,and discusses data on Se biofortification with different sources of supplementation,from inorganic to organic forms,with special focus on Se-enriched yeast(Se-yeast).Although Se-yeast remains one of the main sources of organic Se,other emerging and innovative sources are reviewed,such as Se-enriched insects and Se-nanoparticles and their potential use in animal ***-enriched insects are discussed as an option for supplying Se in organic form to livestock ***-nanoparticles are also discussed,as they represent a more biocompatible and less toxic source of inorganic Se for animal organisms,compared to selenite and *** also provide up to date information on the legal framework in the EU,USA,and Canada of Se that is contained in feed *** the scientific evidence available in the literature,it can be concluded that among the inorganic forms,sodium selenite is still one of the main options,whereas Se-yeast remains the primary organic ***,other potential sources such as Se-enriched insects and Se-nanoparticles are being investigated as they could potentially combine a high bioavailability and reduced Se emissions in the environment.

Scour process caused by multiple subvertical non-crossing jets

The scour process induced by plunging jets is an important topic for hydraulic engineers. In recent decades, several researchers have developed new strategies and methodologies to control the scour morphology, including different jet arrangements and structures located in the stilling basin. It has been found that multiple jets can cause less scouring than single plunging jets. Based on this evidence, this study aimed to investigate the equilibrium morphology caused by multiple non-crossing jets. A dedicated laboratory model was built and experimental tests were carried out under different combinations of jet inclination angles, by varying the tailwater level and the virtual crossing point location, which was set below the original channel bed level. It was experimentally shown that the equilibrium scour morphology depends on the jet discharge, the differences in non-crossing jet inclination angles, the downstream water level, and the distance of the virtual crossing point from the original channel bed level. In particular, the last parameter was found to be one of the most influential parameters, because of the resulting flow patterns inside the water body. Furthermore, the analysis of experimental evidence allowed for a complete and detailed classification of the scour hole typologies. Three different scour typologies were distinguished and classified. Finally, based on previous studies, two novel re-lationships have been proposed to predict both the maximum scour depth and length within a large range of hydraulic and geometric parameters.

Neoadjuvant treatment for resectable pancreatic cancer: Time for phase Ⅲ testing?

This paper discusses the rationale for phaseⅢtesting of neoadjuvant therapy in patients affected by resectable pancreatic *** therapeutic management of patients affected by resectable pancreatic cancer is particularly troublesome due to the aggressiveness of the disease and to the limited efficacy and sometimes unfavourable risk-benefit ratio of the available therapeutic *** data on the role of adjuvant chemoradiation have been reported,while adjuvant single-agent chemotherapy significantly improved overall survival(OS)when compared to surgery alone. However,the OS figures for adjuvant chemotherapy remain *** effect,pancreatic cancer exhibits a prominent tendency to recur after a brief median time interval from surgery and extra-pancreatic dissemination represents the predominant pattern of disease *** treatment has a strong rationale in this disease but limited information on the efficacy of this approach is available from single arm trials with low levels of ***,in spite of two decades of investigation there is currently no evidence to support the routine use of pre-surgical therapy in clinical practice. To foster knowledge on the optimal management of this disease,and to produce evidence-based treatment guidelines,there is no alternative to well designed randomized *** chemotherapy is a candidate for testing because it is supported by a more robust rationale than *** chemotherapy regimens with elevated activity in advanced disease warrant *** would suggest the running of an exploratory phaseⅡrandomized trial before embarking on a large phase Ⅲ study.

Scheduling optimization of task allocation in integrated manufacturing system based on task decomposition

How to deal with the collaboration between task decomposition and task scheduling is the key problem of the integrated manufacturing system for complex products. With the development of manufacturing technology, we can probe a new way to solve this problem. Firstly, a new method for task granularity quantitative analysis is put forward, which can precisely evaluate the task granularity of complex product cooperation workflow in the integrated manufacturing system, on the above basis; this method is used to guide the coarse-grained task decomposition and recombine the subtasks with low cohesion coefficient. Then, a multi-objective optimieation model and an algorithm are set up for the scheduling optimization of task scheduling. Finally, the application feasibility of the model and algorithm is ultimately validated through an application case study.
