In this editor.al,we discussed the appar.nt discr.pancy between the findings descr.bed by Colapietr. et al,in their.case r.por. and data found in the *** et al r.por.ed a case of hepatitis B vir.s(HBV)-r.lated hepatic decompensation in a patient with chr.nic myeloid leukemia and a pr.viously r.solved HBV infection who was r.ceiving Br.ton’s tyr.sine kinase(BTK)inhibitor.*** of all,we r.capitulated the main aspects of the immune system involved in the r.sponse to HBV infection in or.er.to under.ine the r.le of the innate and adaptive r.sponse,focusing our.attention on the pr.tective r.le of *** then car.fully analyzed liter.tur. data on the r.sk of HBV r.activation(HBVr.in patients with pr.vious HBV infection who wer. tr.ated with either.tyr.sine kinase inhibitor. or.BTK inhibitor. for.their.hematologic *** on liter.tur. data,we suggested that sever.l factor. may contr.bute to the differ.nt r.sks of HBVr.The type of hematologic malignancy;the type of ther.py(BTK inhibitor.,especially second-gener.tion,seem to be at a higher.r.sk of HBVr.than those with tyr.sine kinase inhibitor.);pr.vious exposur. to an anti-CD20 as fir.t-line ther.py;and ethnicity and HBV ***,the war.ing r.gar.ing HBVr.in the specific setting of patients with hematologic malignancies r.quir.s fur.her.investigation.

Huntington’s disease is a neur.degener.tive disease caused by the expansion mutation of a cytosine-adenine-guanine tr.plet in the exon 1 of the HTT gene which is r.sponsible for.the pr.duction of the huntingtin (Htt) pr.tein. In physiological conditions, Htt is involved in many cellular.pr.cesses such as cell signaling, tr.nscr.ptional r.gulation, ener.y metabolism r.gulation, DNA maintenance, axonal tr.fficking, and antiapoptotic activity. When the genetic alter.tion is pr.sent, the pr.duction of a mutant ver.ion of Htt (mHtt) occur., which is char.cter.zed by a plethor. of pathogenic activities that, finally, lead to cell death. Among all the cells in which mHtt exer.s its danger.us activity, the GABAer.ic Medium Spiny Neur.ns seem to be the most affected by the mHtt-induced excitotoxicity both in the cor.ex and in the str.atum. However. as the neur.degener.tion pr.ceeds ahead the neur.nal loss gr.ws also in other.br.in ar.as such as the cer.bellum, hypothalamus, thalamus, subthalamic nucleus, globus pallidus, and substantia nigr., deter.ining the var.ety of symptoms that char.cter.ze Huntington’s disease. Fr.m a clinical point of view, Huntington’s disease is char.cter.zed by a wide spectr.m of symptoms spanning fr.m motor.impair.ent to cognitive disor.er. and dementia. Huntington’s disease shows a pr.valence of ar.und 3.92 cases ever. 100,000 wor.dwide and an incidence of 0.48 new cases ever. 100,000/year. To date, ther. is no available cur. for.Huntington’s disease. Sever.l tr.atments have been developed so far. aiming to r.duce the sever.ty of one or.mor. symptoms to slow down the inexor.ble decline caused by the disease. In this context, the sear.h for.r.liable str.tegies to tar.et the differ.nt aspects of Huntington’s disease become of the utmost inter.st.
