Obective:To evaluate the *** and repellent properties of solvent extracts of marine sponge Cliona celala(***)(Grant) against the malarial vector Anopheles stephensi(***) ***:Marine sponge *** was thoroughly washed with distilled water and shade dried for 48 *** the sponges were homogenized and extracted sequentially with hexane,ethyl acetate and methanol,Lanvicidal and ovicidal activities were tested at four different concentrations viz.,62.***.125.0.250.0 and 500.0 *** repellent study extracts were taken in three different concentrations viz..5.***.2.5.1.0 mg/cm ***:Among the three solvent extracts of ***,methanol extract showed thc highest lanvieidal activity at 500 ppm against the fourth inslar larvae of *** LC_(50)and LC_(90) values of *** methanol extract were recorded as 80.61 and 220.81 ppm against *** larvae *** ovieidal activity of 91.2%was recorded al 500 ppm concentration of methanol *** haxane extract was found to be the most effective protectant against the adult female mosquitoes of *** mean protection time recorded in hexane extract was up to 245 min at 5 mg/cm^2 dosage against *** ***:The screening results suggest that the hexane and methanol extracts of *** arc promising in mosquito *** these *** could the probed further to obtain some novel pesticidal molecules.

Background:During the past six decades,remarkable success on malaria control has been made in *** major experience could be shared with other malaria endemic countries including Tanzania with high malaria ***,China’s 1-3-7 model for malaria elimination is one of the most important refined experiences from many years’efforts and key innovation measures for malaria elimination in ***:The China-UK-Tanzania pilot project on malaria control was implemented from April,2015 to June,2018,which was an operational research with two communities receiving the proposed interventions and two comparable communities serving as control *** World Health Organization"Test,Treat,Track"(WHO-T3)Initiative,which calls for every suspected case to receive a diagnostic test,every confirmed case to be treated,and for the disease to be tracked,was integrated with Chinese experiences on malaria control and elimination for exploration of a proper model tailored to the local *** of China’s 1-3-7 model integrating with WHO-T3 initiative and local resources aiming at reducing the burden of malaria in terms of morbidity and mortality by 30%in the intervention communities in comparison with that at the baseline ***:The China-UK-Tanzania pilot project on malaria control was that at China’s first pilot project on malaria control in Africa,exploring the feasibility of Chinese experiences by China-Africa collaboration,which is expected that the strategies and approaches used in this project could be potential for scaling up in Tanzania and African countries,and contribute to the acceleration of malaria control and elimination in Africa.

Most whole slide imaging(WSI)systems today rely on the"stop-and-stare"approach,where,at each field of view,the scanning stage is brought to a complete stop before the camera snaps a *** procedure ensures that each image is free of motion blur,which comes at the expense of long acquisition *** order to speed up the acquisition process,especially for large scanning areas,such as pathology slides,we developed an acquisition method in which the data is acquired continuously while the stage is moving at high *** generative adversarial networks(GANs),we demonstrate this ultra-fast imaging approach,referred to as GANscan,which restores sharp images from motion blurred *** allows us to complete image acquisitions at 30x the throughput of stop-and-stare *** method is implemented on a Zeiss Axio Observer Z1 microscope,requires no specialized hardware,and accomplishes successful reconstructions at stage speeds of up to 5000 μm/*** validate the proposed method by imaging H&E stained tissue *** method not only retrieves crisp images from fast,continuous scans,but also adjusts for defocusing that occurs during scanning within+/-5 μ*** a consumer GPU,the inference runs at<20 ms/image.

Photocatalysis using polymeric carbon nitride(CN)materials is a constantly evolving field,where the variation of synthetic procedures allows the constant improvement of activity by tackling the intrinsic limitations of these materials(optical absorbance,specific surface area,charge migration,etc.).Amongst the possible photocatalytic reactions,the most popular application of CNs is the hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)from *** this work,we design precisely-controlled carbon-doped porous CN rods with extended π-electron conjugation from supramolecular assemblies of melem and co-monomers,which partially substitute nitrogen for carbon atoms at the pyrimidine ring of the *** hydrogen bonds and good thermal stability of the melem-based supramolecular framework allow synthesizing a more ordered structure for improved charge migration;the control from the molecular level over the position of carbon-substituted nitrogen positions tailors the band alignment and photogenerated charge *** optimal photocatalyst shows an excellent HER rate(up to 10.16 mmol·h-1·g-1 under 100 W white light-emitting diode(LED)irradiation,with an apparent quantum efficiency of 20.0%at 405 nm,which is 23.2 times higher compared to a reference bulk CN).To fully harness the benefits of the developed metal-free CNs,selective oxidation reaction of aromatic alcohols is demonstrated with high conversion and selectivity.

In this paper,the advantage of using numerical models with the strength reduction method(SRM) to evaluate entry stability in complex multiple-seam conditions is demonstrated.A coal mine under variable topography from the Central Appalachian region is used as a case *** this mine,unexpected roof conditions were encountered during development below previously mined *** mapping and observation of ground conditions were used to quantify the success of entry support systems in three room-and-pillar *** model analyses were initially conducted to estimate the stresses induced by the multiple-seam mining at the locations of the affected *** SRM was used to quantify the stability factor of the supported roof of the entries at selected *** SRM-calculated stability factors were compared with observations made during the site visits,and the results demonstrate that the SRM adequately identifies the unexpected roof conditions in this complex *** is concluded that the SRM can be used to effectively evaluate the likely success of roof supports and the stability condition of entries in coal mines.

A limestone mine in Ohio has had instability problems that have led to massive roof falls extending to the surface. This study focuses on the role that weak, moisture-sensitive floor has in the instability *** NIOSH research related to this subject did not include analysis for weak floor or weak bands and recommended that when such issues arise they should be investigated further using a more advanced analysis. Therefore, to further investigate the observed instability occurring on a large scale at the Ohio mine, FLAC3 D numerical models were employed to demonstrate the effect that a weak floor has on roof and pillar stability. This case study will provide important information to limestone mine operators regarding the impact of weak floor causing the potential for roof collapse, pillar failure, and subsequent subsidence of the ground surface.

AIM: To examine the influence of dexamethasone on pancreatitis-associated protein (PAP) gene expression using both in vitro and in vivo models of acute pancreati- tis and to study how PAP gene expression correlates with severity of pancreatitis. METHODS: In vitro, IL-6 stimulated pancreas acinar AR42J cells were cultured with increasing concentrations of dexamethasone and assayed for PAP expression (RT-PCR). In vivo , pancreatitis was induced in rats by retrograde injection of 40 g/L taurocholate into the pancreatic duct. Animals were pretreated with dexamethasone (2 mg/kg) daily or saline for 4 d. Pancreata and serum were harvested after 24 h and gene expression levels of PAPⅠ, Ⅱ and Ⅲ were measured by RT-PCR. Severity of pancreatitis was based on serum amylase, pancreatic wet weight, and histopathological score. RESULTS: In vitro, dexamethasone and IL-6 induced a marked transcription of PAPⅠ, Ⅱ and Ⅲ genes in AR42J cells at 24 h (P < 0.05 for all comparisons). In vivo, pancreas mRNA levels of PAPⅠ, Ⅱ or Ⅲ increased by 2.6-fold, 1.9-fold, and 1.3-fold respectively after dexa- methasone treatment, compared with saline treated ani- mals. Serum amylase levels and edema were significantly lower in the dexamethasone group compared with the saline group. Histopathologic evaluation revealed less inflammation and necrosis in pancreata obtained from dexamethasone treated animals (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION: Dexamethasone significantly decreases the severity of pancreatitis. The protective mechanism ofdexamethasone may be via upregulating PAP gene ex- pression during injury.
