Photonic devices increasingly require three-dimensional control of refractive index,but existing fabrication methods such as femtosecond micromachining,multilayer lithography and bulk diffusion can only address a select scale range,are often limited in complexity or thickness and have low *** introduce a new fabrication method and polymeric material that can efficiently create mm^(3) optical devices with programmable,gradient index of refraction with arbitrary feature *** contrast of 0.1 is demonstrated,which is 100 times larger than femtosecond micromachining,and 20 times larger than commercial holographic *** is achieved by repetitive microfluidic layering of a self-developing photopolymer structured by projection *** process has the unusual property that total fabrication time for a fixed thickness decreases with the number of layers,enabling fabrication 10^(5) faster than femtosecond *** demonstrate the process by sequentially writing 100 layers to fabricate a mm thick waveguide array.

In this paper we discuss the reasons for our work towards establishing a new collaboration between Jefferson Lab （JLab） and the Institute of High Energy Physics （IHEP） in Beijing. We seek to combine experimentalists and theorists into a dedicated group focused on better understanding the current and future data from JLab and from the Beijing Electron Positron collider （BEPc）. Recent JLab results on the extraction of single- and double-polarization observables in both the lπ- and 2π-channel show their high sensitivity to small production amplitudes and therefore their importance for the extraction of resonance parameters. The Beijing Electron Spectrometer （BES） at the BEPc has collected high statistics data on J/ψ production. Its decay into baryon-antibaryon channels offers a unique and complementary way of probing nucleon resonances. The cEBAF Large Acceptance Spectrometer, cLAS, has access to N＊ form factors at high Q2 which is advantageous for the study of dynamical properties of nucleon resonances, while the low-background BES results will be able to provide guidance for the search for less-dominant excited states at JLab. Moreover, with the recently approved experimental proposal Nucleon Resonance Studies with cLAS12 and the high-quality data streaming from BES-Ⅲand cLAS, the time has come for forging a new Trans-Pacific collaboration of theorists and experimentalists on NSTAR physics.

The largest solvent-extraction plant in the world at the time, the Nchanga copper Operation, was in Zambia. The first commercial process using solvent extraction for the refining of the platinum-group metals was in South Africa. More recently, the Southern African region has seen the implementation of solvent extraction for other base metals, precious metals, and specialty metals. These include the world firsts of primary production of zinc at Skorpion Zinc in Namibia and the large-scale refining of gold by Harmony Gold in South Africa. Several other flowsheets that use solvent-extraction technology are currently under commissioning, development, or feasibility study for implementation in this part of the world, including those for the recovery of copper, cobalt, nickel, tantalum, and niobium.

BAcKGROUND Glenohumeral dislocation is a common injury that may predispose patients to chronic pain and ***,there is a paucity of current data available regarding the epidemiological trends of this *** To provide an updated,comparative assessment of the epidemiology of shoulder dislocations presenting to emergency departments in the United *** also sought to analyze patient demographic risk factors and consumer products associated with dislocation *** Data were obtained from the national electronic injury surveillance system database for glenohumeral dislocations between 2012 and ***,age,sex,and injury characteristics were analyzed using weighted population statistics as well as incidence rates and 95%confidence intervals(cI).RESULTS In total,an estimated 773039 shoulder dislocations(cI:640598-905481)presented to emergency rooms across the United States during the study *** annual incidence rate was 23.96 per 100000 persons and the average patient age at the time of injury was 37.1 *** more male patients sustained dislocations than female patients(537189,69.5%,vs 235834,30.5%,Pciated consumer products,sports and recreation equipment were involved in the highest proportion of incidents(44.31%),followed by home structures and construction materials(21.22%),and home furnishings,fixtures,and accessories(21.21%).Regarding product sub-groups,stairs,ramps,landings,floors was cited in the greatest number of cases(131745).cONcLUSION The national annual incidence rate of glenohumeral dislocations throughout the study period was approximately 23.92 per 100000 *** adolescents sustained the highest proportion of dislocations,with a peak incidence in age group 15-20 years,predominantly secondary to participation in sporting and recreational ***,women experienced a relatively consistent incidence of dislocation throughout their *** age 63,the i

Observables from vector meson photoproduction by linearly-polarized photons can be expressed in term of bilinear combinations of helicity amplitudes parameterized by the Spin Density Matrix Elements （SDMEs）. These SDMEs give straightforward relations for understanding the nature of the parity exchange at threshold energies, as well as for extracting signatures of the Okubo-Zweig-Iizuka violation. This paper will show preliminary measurements of SDMEs for γp →φp in the photon energy range of 1.7 to 1.9 GeV （momentum transfer squared t range of -1.2 to -0.25 GeV2） and 1.9 to 2.1 ceV （t range of -1.4 to -0.25 GeV2） from the g8b experimental data collected in the summer of 2005 in the Hall B of Jefferson Lab.

Predicting the properties of materials prior to their synthesis is of great importance in materials *** and superconducting materials exhibit a number of unique properties that make them useful in a wide variety of applications,including solid oxide fuel cells,solid-state refrigerants,photon detectors and metrology *** all these applications,phase transitions play an important role in determining the feasibility of the materials in ***,we present a pipeline for fully integrating data extracted from the scientific literature into machine-learning tools for property prediction and materials *** advanced natural language processing(NLP)and machine-learning techniques,we successfully reconstruct the phase diagrams of well-known magnetic and superconducting compounds,and demonstrate that it is possible to predict the phase-transition temperatures of compounds not present in the *** provide the tool as an online open-source platform,forming the basis for further research into magnetic and superconducting materials discovery for potential device applications.

Animal-attached technologies can be powerful means to quantify space use and behavior;however,there are also ethical implications associated with capturing and instrumenting ***,tagging approaches are not necessarily well-suited for examining the movements of multiple individuals within specific,local areas of ***,we assess a method of quantifying animal space use based on a modified theodolite with an inbuilt laser *** a database of>4200 tracks of migrating birds,we show that detection distance in-creases with bird body mass(range 5 g to>10 kg).The maximum distance recorded to a bird was 5500 m and measurement error was≤5 m for targets within this distance range:a level comparable to methods such as GPS *** go on to present a case study where this method was used to assess habitat selection in seabirds operating in dynamic coastal waters close to a tidal *** positional data with outputs from a hydrographic model revealed that great cormorants(Phalacrocorax carbo)appeared to be highly selective of current characteristics in space and time,exploiting areas where mean current speeds werecurrents during *** together,this suggests that collision risks are low for cormorants at this site,as the 2 conditions avoided by cormorants(high mean current speeds and turbulence levels)are associated with operational tidal ***-all,we suggest that this modified theodolite system is well-suited to the quantification of movement in small areas associated with particular development strategies,including sustainable energy devices.
