Energy-and exergy-based performance evaluation of solar powered combined cycle(recompression supercritical carbon dioxide cycle/organic rankine cycle)

Nowadays,the recompression supercritical carbon dioxide(r-SCO_(2))cycle has emerged as a promising option for power conversion systems because of its boundless potential to tackle energy and environmental *** this study,we examined the performance of the solar parabolic trough collector(SPTC)integrated combined cogeneration system for the purpose of power generation as well as recovery of waste exhaust heat from the r-SCO_(2) cycle with the help of the organic rankine cycle(OrC).An exergy and energy analysis was performed for a combined recompression cycle(r-SCO_(2)-OrC)by varying the input variables such as intensity of solar irradiation(Gb),pressure at the inlet of SCO_(2) turbine(P_(5)),mass flow rate of SCO_(2)()&mSCO_(2) inlet temperature of SCO_(2) turbine(T5),inlet temperature of main compressor(T_(9))and effectiveness of the high-and low-temperature recuperator(HTr andLTr).Eight organic working fluids were considered for the OrC:r123,r290,isobutane,r1234yf,r1234ze,toluene,isopentane and *** study revealed that r123-based r-SCO_(2)-OrC demonstrates the highest thermal and exergy efficiency:~73.4 and 40.89%at G_(b)=0.5 kW/m^(2);78.8 and 43.9%at P_(5)=14 MPa;63.86 and 35.57%at T5=650 K;74.84 and 41.69%at&mSCO 7kg s;2=/85.83 and 47.82%at T_(9)=300 K;84.57 and 47.11%atHTr 65;=0.85.06 and 47.38%atLTr 65,=***,r290 showed the minimum value of exergy and thermal *** can be seen,the maximum amount of exergy destruction or exergy loss occurs in a solar collector field,~58.25%of the total exergy destruction rate(i.e.6703 kW)and 18.99%of the solar inlet exergy(i.e.20562 kJ).Moreover,r123 has the highest net work output,~4594 kJ at T5=650 K and 6176 kJ at T_(9)=300 K.

Study of Temperature Distribution Along an Artificially Polluted Insulator String

Insulator becomes wet partially or completely, and the pollution layer on itbecomes conductive, when collecting pollutants for an extended period during dew, light rain, mist,fog or snow melting. Heavy rain is a complicated factor that it may wash away the pollution layerwithout initiating other stages of breakdown or it may bridge the gaps between sheds to promoteflashover. The insulator with a conducting pollution layer being energized, can cause a surfaceleakage current to flow (also temperature-rise). As the surface conductivity is non-uniform, theconducting pollution layer becomes broken by dry bands (at spots of high current density),interrupting the flow of leakage current. Voltage across insulator gets concentrated across drybands, and causes high electric stress and breakdown (dry band arcing). If the resistance of theinsulator surface is sufficiently low, the dry band arcs can be propagated to bridge the terminalscausing flashover. The present paper concerns the evaluation of the temperature distribution alongthe surface of an energized artificially polluted insulator string.

Improved Network Validity Using Various Soft Computing Techniques

Nowadays,when a life span of sensor nodes are threatened by the shortage of energy available for communication,sink mobility is an excellent technique for increasing its *** communicating via a WSN,the use of nodes as a transmission method eliminates the need for a physical *** mobility in a dynamic network topology presents a problem for sensor nodes that have reserved *** the route is revised and changed to reﬂect the location of the mobile sink location,it will be inefﬁcient for delivering data *** the clustering strategy,nodes are grouped together to improve commu-nication,and the cluster head receives data from compactable *** sink receives the aggregated data from the *** cluster head is the central node in the conventional technique.A single node uses more energy than a node that is routed to a dead *** the number of people using a route shortens its *** proposed work demonstrates the effectiveness with which sensor node paths can be modiﬁed at a lower cost by utilising the virtual *** best routes are maintained mostly by sink node communication on routes based on dynamic route adjustment(VGDrA).Only speciﬁc nodes are acquired to re-align data supply to the mobile sink in accordance with new paradigms of route *** to the results,VGDrA schemes have a longer life span because of the reduced number of loops.

Network analysis is a promisingﬁeld in the area of network applications as different types of trafﬁc grow enormously and *** route prediction is a challenging task in the Large Scale Networks(LSN).Various non-self-learning and self-learning approaches have been adopted to predict reliable *** protocols decide how to send all the packets from source to the destination addresses across the network through their *** the current era,dynamic protocols are preferred as they network self-learning internally using an algorithm and may not entail being updated physically more than the static protocols.A novel method named reliable route Prediction Model(rrPM)is proposed toﬁnd the best routes in the given hefty gage network to balance the load of the entire network to advance the network *** task is carried out in two *** theﬁrst phase,Network Embedding(NE)based node classiﬁcation is carried *** second phase involves the network analysis to predict the route of the *** experiment is carried out for average data transmission and rerouting time is measured between rrPM and routing Information Protocol(rIP)protocol models with before and after failure *** was observed that average transmission time for rIP protocol has measured as 18.5 ms and rrPM protocol has measured as 18.2 *** the proposed rrPM model outperforms well than the traditional routeﬁnding protocols such as rIP and Open Shortest Path First(OSPF).

Coping with the environmental effects of point-source discharges

Current methods for assessing the environmental impact of point source discharges in the United States are reviewed. The emphasis of many assessments of damage from pollution is shifting from chemical or technological standards to biological standards, i.e., the protection of biological integrity in the receiving system. The importance of integrating information from chemical measurements, toxicity tests, and field surveys in impact assessment is re-emphasized. Ways in which environmental professionals can improve methods for assessing damage from pollution and its control are discussed.

Environmental toxicants are ubiquitous,and many are known to cause harmful health ***,much of what we know or think we know concerning the targets and long-term effects of exposure to environmental stressors is sadly *** exposure may have health effects that are currently mischaracterized or at least mechanistically incompletely *** much of the recent excitement about stem cells(SCs)focuses on their potential as therapeutic agents,they also offer a valuable resource to give us insight into the mechanisms and risks of toxicant *** only as a response to the increasing ethical pressure to reduce animal testing,SC studies allow us valuable insight into the true effects of human exposure to environmental stressors under controlled *** present a review of the history of publications on the effects of environmental stressors on SCs,followed by a consolidation of the literature over the past five years on a subset of key environmental stressors of importance to human health and their effects on both embryonic and tissue *** review will make constructive suggestions as to areas of toxicant research where further studies are needed,as well as making indications of the potential utility for advancing knowledge and directing research on environmental toxicology.

Deep Learning-Based Swot Analysis in Construction and Demolition Waste Management

researchers worldwide have employed a varied array of sources to cal-culate the successful management of Construction and Demolition(C&DW).Limited research has been undertaken in the domain of Construction and Demoli-tion Waste Management(C&DWM)and consequently leaving a large gap in the availability of effective management *** to the limited time available for building removal and materials collection,preparing for building materials reuse at the end of life is frequently a challenging *** this research work Con-volutional Neural Network-Long Short-Term Memory(CNN-LSTM)is proposed to predict the number of waste materials that are obtained from a building at the end of its useful *** a result,an effective Waste Management(WM)plan has been established through SWOT *** results of the study reveal that,given fundamental building characteristics,it is possible to predict the number of materials that would be collected with high precision from a building after *** proposed deep learning models achieved an average r-squared value of 0.98 and a Mean Absolute Error of 18.1 and 20.14 better than existing methods such as random forest,CNN,and DBN(Data Bus Network).

Continuous wound infusion of local anaesthetic agents following colorectal surgery:Systematic review and meta-analysis

AIM:To provide a specifi c review and meta-analysis of the available evidence for continuous wound infusion of local anaesthetic agents following midline laparoto-my for major colorectal surgery. METHODS: Medline, Embase, trial registries, conference proceedings and article reference lists were searched to identify randomised, controlled trials of continuous wound infusion of local anaesthetic agents following colorectal surgery. The primary outcomes were opioid consumption, pain visual analogue scores (VASs), return to bowel function and length of hospital stay. Weighted mean difference were calculated for continuous outcomes. rESULTS: Five trials containing 542 laparotomy wounds were eligible for inclusion. There was a sig- nificant decrease in post-operative pain VAS at rest on day 3 (weighted mean difference: -0.43; 95% CI: -0.81 to -0.04; P = 0.03) but not on post-operative day 1 and 2. Local anaesthetic infusion was associated with a signifi cant reduction in pain VAS on movement on all three post-operative days (day 1 weighted mean difference: -1.14; 95% CI: -2.24 to -0.041; P = 0.04, day 2 weighted mean difference: -0.97, 95% CI: -1.91to -0.029; P = 0.04, day 3 weighted mean difference: -0.61; 95% CI: 1.01 to -0.20; P = 0.0038). Local an- aesthetic wound infusion was associated with a signifi - cant decrease in total opioid consumption (weighted mean difference: -40.13; 95% CI: -76.74 to -3.53; P = 0.03). There was no signifi cant decrease in length of stay (weighted mean difference: -20.87; 95% CI: -46.96 to 5.21; P = 0.12) or return of bowel function (weighted mean difference: -9.40; 95% CI: -33.98 to 15.17; P = 0.45). CONCLUSION: The results of this systematic re- view and meta-analysis suggest that local anaesthetic wound infusion following laparotomy for major color- ectal surgery is a promising technique but do not pro- vide conclusive evidence of benefi t. Further research is required including cost-effectiveness analysis.
