Clonostachys rosea is an ascomycetous fungal species commonly found in tropical and subtropical regions as a soil saprotroph,plant decomposer,and *** fungus is also well-known as a mycoparasite,exhibiting strong biological control ability against numerous fungal plant pathogens,nematodes and insect *** this study,we isolated for the first time *** as entomopathogen of the Coleoptera species Ophrida xanthospilota(Chrysomelidae) in *** infected *** insect individuals covered by white cottony mycelia were collected in April 2020 at Beijing Botanical Garden,Beijing,*** were isolated from small portions of mycelia excised from outside and inside of the infected insect species and identified based on morphological observations and molecular methods.A total of five fungal species were isolated from the analyzed insect,including ***,Fusarium verticillioides,***,***,and Aspergillus *** rosea was apparently the primary insect pathogen,because it was isolated from both outside and inside tissues of the insect,while Fusarium and Aspergillus strains were only isolated from the external surface of the insect *** analysis revealed that the sequence obtained from the isolated Clonostachys strain was closely related to *** previously found from the nest of white stork Ciconia ciconia in *** rosea from Massachusetts in USA and *** *** from soil of Utah(USA) also revealed phylogenetically close relationships with our isolated *** rosea *** is characterized by greenish conidial masses,which were not present in our *** isolates,showing white mycelium masses on PDA *** finding provides new evidence for the rare life mode of *** as insect pathogen,extending our knowledge of the occurrence and distribution of entomopathogenic fungi of the Coleoptera species *** analyzed fungus was never repo

Spatial Disparity in Availability of Tuberculosis Diagnostic Services Based on Sector and Level of Care in Nigeria

Background: Delay in Tuberculosis (TB) diagnosis can contribute to late presentation, severe disease, and continued transmission. KNCV TB Foundation Nigeria through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) funded the TB Local Organization Network (LON) 1 and 2 projects that explored the availability of Tuberculosis services based on sector and levels of care. Methods: TB Patient Pathway Analysis was carried out in 14 states comprising 92 facilities. It involved primary, secondary, and tertiary levels of health care in both the public and private sectors. This was a cross-sectional study under program implementation. Proforma was used to collect data on the available TB diagnostic services. Results: In public health facilities, GeneXpert was available at 100% in tertiary facilities in 8 (57%) states;up to 82% in 4 (33%) states, 50% available at secondary facilities in 2 states, and There is none at the primary facilities. Smear microscopy was available at 100% in tertiary facilities in 9 (64%) states and 3 (25%) states have 50% to 82%;secondary -10 (71%) states have > 70% at facilities;primary 1 (7%) state has it in 61% of facilities. Loop-mediated isothermal amplification (TB-LAMP) in tertiary 2 (17%) states have 20% and 100% respectively;secondary 4 (<30%) states have in 1 or 2 facilities;none for primary facilities. In private health facilities, 79% of states have Smear microscopy at both primary and secondary facilities, and only 2 states (14%) at tertiary facilities. Only 1 (7%) state has GeneXpert in all tertiary facilities, 2 (14%) states have secondary facilities, and 4 states in about 1% of facilities. TB LAMP was not available in any tertiary facility, one (7%) state at secondary with coverage of 1%, and 2 (14%) states at primary both with 4% overall facility coverage. Conclusions: There is an inequitable distribution of TB diagnostic services in both sectors and levels of care in Nigeria. TB care and control will improve with enhanced

AIM To systematically review reports on deceased-donor-lobar lung transplantation(dd LLTx) and uniformly describe sizematching using the donor-to-recipient predicted-total lung-capacity(pT LC) ratio. METHODS We set out to systematically review reports on ddL LTx and uniformly describe size matching using the donorto-recipient pT LC ratio and to summarize reported oneyear survival data of ddL LTx and conventional-LTx. We searched in Pub Med, CINAHL via EBSCO, Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews via Wiley(CDSR),Database of Abstracts of Reviews of Effects via Wiley(dare), Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials via Wiley(CENTRAL), Scopus(which includes EMBASE abstracts), and Web of Science for original reports on ddL LTx. RESULTS Nine observational cohort studies reporting on 301 ddL LTx met our inclusion criteria for systematic review of size matching, and eight for describing one-year-survival. The dd LLTx-group was often characterized by high acuity;however there was heterogeneity in transplant indications and pre-operative characteristics between studies. Data to calculate the pT LC ratio was available for 242 ddL LTx(80%). The mean pT LCratio before lobar resection was1.25 ± 0.3 and the transplanted pT LCratio after lobar resection was 0.76 ± 0.2. One-year survival in the ddL LTxgroup ranged from 50%-100%, compared to 72%-88%in the conventional-LTx group. In the largest study ddL LTx(n = 138) was associated with a lower one-year-survival compared to conventional-LTx(n = 539)(65.1% vs84.1%, P < 0.001). CONCLUSION Further investigations of optimal donor-to-recipient size matching parameters for ddL LTx could improve outcomes of this important surgical option.
