background:To measure angle-to-angle(ATA)and spur-to-spur(STS)distances along six meridians using highresolution swept-source optical coherence tomography(SS-OCT)and to compare those values with horizontal white-to-white(WTW)***:68 eyes from 68 patients were quantitatively assessed with the Anterion SS-OCT(Heidelberg Engineering,Heidelberg,Germany).ATA and STS distances were measured with the SS-OCT’s b-Scan in six cross-sectional images corresponding to the vertical(6-12 o’clock),1-7 o’clock,2-8 o’clock,horizontal(3-9 o’clock),4-10 o’clock and 5-11 o’clock *** was measured horizontally with the device’s infrared camera.A Pearson correlation analysis was carried out to compare ATA and STS distances with ***:The largest values were found for the vertical meridian and the shortest for the 2-8 o’clock meridian,both for ATA and STS *** statistically significant differences were found between WTW,ATA and STS along the horizontal meridian(p>0.1).However,ATA and STS showed statistically significant differences elsewhere,except for the horizontal and the 2-8 o’clock meridians(p>0.05).Moreover,we found that ATA and STS varied significantly depending on the meridian being assessed,except for ATA at 4-10 versus 3-9 o’clock and for STS at 4-10 versus 3-9 o’clock and at 3-9 versus 2-8 o’clock(p>0.1).R^(2) values ranged from 0.49 to 0.75 for ATA and STS at the different meridians,showing the best correlation at 3-9 o’clock meridian(0.64 and 0.75,respectively)and the worst at 6-12 o’clock meridian(R^(2)=0.49 for both ATA and STS).Conclusions:ATA and STS distances vary radially,thus showing that the anterior chamber is vertically ***,it is advisable to measure these two distances along the meridian to be used.

The genus Rhododendron(Ericaceae),with more than 1000 species highly diverse in f lower color,is providing distinct ornamental values and a model system for f lower color ***,we investigated the divergence between two parental species with different f lower color widely used for azalea *** genome assembly was generated for the yellow-f lowered azalea,Rhododendron *** genomics found recent proliferation of long terminal repeat retrotransposons(LTR-RTs),especially Gypsy,has resulted in a 125 Mb(19%)genome size increase in species-specific regions,and a significant amount of dispersed gene duplicates(13402)and pseudogenes(17437).Metabolomic assessment revealed that yellow f lower coloration is attributed to the dynamic changes of carotenoids/f lavonols biosynthesis and chlorophyll ***-ordered gene co-expression networks(TO-GCNs)and the comparison confirmed the metabolome and uncovered the specific gene regulatory changes underpinning the distinct f lower pigmentation.b3 and ERF TFs were found dominating the gene regulation of carotenoids/f lavonols characterized pigmentation in ***,while WRKY,ERF,WD40,C2H2,and NAC TFs collectively regulated the anthocyanins characterized pigmentation in the red-f lowered R *** study employed a multi-omics strategy in disentangling the complex divergence between two important azaleas and provided references for further functional genetics and molecular breeding.

Antifungal activity and mode of action of nine essential oils(EOs)against *** cells were *** effects of commercial lemon peel,orange peel,tea tree,turpentine,rosemary,peppermint,thyme,oregano and clove oils were determined through Minimum Inhibitory Concentration(mic),Minimum Fungicidal Concentration(MFC)and inhibition zone *** most effective oil was turpentine *** peel,thyme and oregano oils were also effective,according to mic and *** zone measurements,also revealed oregano,orange peel,thyme,turpentine and clove oils as most efficient ***,membrane damage of yeast cells was studied by measuring the extracellular pH and conductivity in a concentration dependent *** peel,turpentine,thyme and oregano oils caused a clear increase in extracellular pH of glucose-induced yeast cells and induced an increase in extracellular *** results point to the deterioration of yeast cell membrane integrity upon exposure to *** these oils can be used as food preservatives and pharmaceutical agents,it is very important to understand their mode of action and their main target sites in the *** this research not only opens new perspectives to understand antifungal activity mechanisms of EOs,but also help widen their use.

Given that various operational methods can be considered for a system,applying changes to study the results and determine the best operational technique is costly and disrupts the ***,to analyze and evaluate the outcomes of employing different operational methods,simulation is *** this study,to improve the performance of a medical imaging center(mic),first,this center was simulated and then,different scenarios were defined and ***,using the simulation results and for evaluating the scenarios through Data Envelopment Analysis(DEA),each scenario was considered as a decision making unit(DMU).Since simulation results of each scenario are uncertain and differ for different iterations,a method was utilized capable of using the results of all *** the other hand,indexes such as satisfaction,patient’s appropriate waiting,helpful servicing with the least number nurses and the maximum number services that have fuzzy nature,are important factors for ***,using the simulation results and considering the system manager’s idea,a method was proposed for determining the fuzzy values of these ***,a ranking model and an algorithm were proposed for determining a unique ranking and introducing the best scenario to improve the performance of mic.

A new series of pyrano[4,3-b]pyrane 4a-l bearing 1H-pyrazole has been synthesized by one pot base catalyzed cyclocondensation reaction of 1H-pyrazole-4-carbaldehyde la-1,malononitrile 2 and 4-hydroxy-6-methylpyrone *** the synthesized compounds were screened against six bacterial pathogens,namely ***,***,***,***,***, *** and antifungal activity against,two fungal pathogens,*** and *** using broth microdilution mic method. Some of the compounds are found to be equipotent or more potent than that of commercial drugs,against most of employed strains.

The design of nanostructured materials occupies a privileged position in the development and management of affordable and effective technology in the antibacterial ***,we discuss the antimicrobial properties of three carbonaceous nanoblades and nanodarts materials of graphene oxide(GO),reduced graphene oxide(RGO),and single-wall carbon nanotubes(SWCNTs)that have a mechano-bactericidal effect,and the ability to piercing or slicing bacterial *** demonstrate the significance of size,morphology and composition on the antibacterial activity mechanism,the designed nanomaterials have been *** minimum inhibitory concentration(mic),standard agar well diffusion,and transmission electron microscopy were utilized to evaluate the antibacterial activity of GO,RGO,and *** on the evidence obtained,the three carbonaceous materials exhibit activity against all microbial strains tested by completely encapsulating bacterial cells and causing morphological disruption by degrading the microbial cell membrane in the order of RGO>GO>*** of the external cell wall structure and outer membrane proteins,the synthesized carbonaceous nanomaterials exhibited higher antibacterial activity against Gram-positive bacterial strains than Gram-negative and fungal *** had the lowest mic values(0.062,0.125,and 0.25 mg/mL against ***,***,and ***,respectively),as well as minimum fungal concentrations(0.5 mg/mL for both *** and ***).At 12 hr,the cell viability values against tested microbial strains were completely *** lysis and death occurred as a result of severe membrane damage caused by microorganisms perched on RGO *** work gives an insight into the design of effective graphene-based antimicrobial materials for water treatment and remediation.

The products of intertidal and super tidal(splash zone) corrosion on steel piles have been characterised at 3 UK sites with contrasting environmental conditions in order to determine corrosion reaction mechanism and if a common mechanism for accelerated low water corrosion occurs across sites. Intertidal corrosion samples at Shoreham and Newhaven ports show an internal composition of iron mono-and bi-sulphide, with intermediate sulphur oxidation state compounds, and an outer surface dominated by iron oxides and oxyhydroxides with a component of iron sulphates. The FTIR spectra are characteristic of sulphate green rust. In contrast, samples from Southend have all sulphur species below detection levels and are dominated by iron oxides and oxyhydroxides. Carbon binding energy spectra are consistent with the development of biofilms at all sites except for a splash zone sample at Southend. The results demonstrate a common mechanism for ALWC at Newhaven and Shoreham, involving the action of sulphate-reducing bacteria generating iron sulphides on the steel surface. These are subsequently oxidised to produce sulphate green rust, which may in turn oxidise to produce lepidocrocite. At Southend differences in environment are inferred to restrict the activity of sulphate reducing bacteria, resulting in direct oxidation of steel to generate iron oxyhydroxide gels, which subsequently recrystallise, dehydrate and oxidise to goethite, magnetite and ultimately hematite in both splash zone and intertidal samples. The multi-technique approach used here characterises the full range of corrosion products.
