Constructing extrinsic oxygen vacancy on the surface of photocatalyst as CO_(2)and electrons reservoirs to improve photocatalytic CO_(2)reduction activity

Constructing own oxygen vacancies in the photocatalysts is a very promising method to improve their photocatalytic CO_(2)reduction activity.However,some catalysts have excellent stabilities,making it difficult for them to construct their own oxygen vacancies.To simplify the above difficulty of stable photocatalysts,constructing extrinsic oxygen vacancies on their surface as a novel idea is proposed.Here,a stable TiO_(2)nanosheet is chosen as a research object,we uniformly deposited BiOCl quantum dots on their surface via a simple adsorption-deposition method.It is found that BiOCl quantum dots are able to simultaneously self-transform into defective BiOCl with many oxygen vacancies when the photocatalyst is performed photocatalytic CO_(2)reduction.These extrinsic oxygen vacancies can act as“CO_(2)and photo-generated electrons reservoirs”to improve CO_(2)capture and accelerate the separation of photogenerated electrons and holes.For the above reasons,the modified TiO_(2)showed obvious enhancement of photocatalytic CO_(2)reduction compared to pristine TiO_(2)and BiOCl.This work may open a new avenue to broaden the use of oxygen vacancies in the process of photocatalytic CO_(2)reduction.

Dual-microcomb generation via a monochromatically pumped dual-mode microresonator

Microcombs have enabled a host of cutting-edge applications from metrology to communications that have garnered significant attention in the last decade.Nevertheless,due to the thermal instability of the microresonator,additional control devices like auxiliary lasers are indispensable for single-soliton generation in some scenarios.Specifically,the increased system complexity would be too overwhelming for dual-microcomb generation.Here,we put forward a novel approach to mitigate the thermal instability and generate the dual-microcomb using a compact system.This process is akin to mode-division multiplexing,as the dual-microcombs are generated by pumping the dual-mode of a single Si_(3)N_(4) microresonator with a continuous-wave laser.Both numerical simulations and experimental measurements indicate that this innovative technique could offer a straightforward way to enlarge the soliton existence range,allowing entry into the multistability regime and triggering another microcomb alongside the main soliton pulse.This outcome not only shines new light on the interaction mechanism of microresonator modes but also provides an avenue for the development of dual-microcomb-based ranging and low phase noise microwave generation.

The efficiency and safety evaluation of hemoglobin hydrolysate as a non-heme iron fortifier

Hemoglobin hydrolysate is derived from the enzymatic degradation of hemoglobin.This work aimed to evaluate whether hemoglobin hydrolysate promotes the absorption of non-heme iron and the safety of absorbed iron in mice by analyzing the iron binding content,iron circulation,and liver homeostasis.We found that hemoglobin hydrolysate promoted the absorption of non-heme iron with high efficiency in duodenum by spontaneously binding non-heme iron during digestion,and increased hepatic iron content by up-regulating divalent metal transporter 1,zinc transporter 14,but hepatic iron content only increased at 3 weeks.Duodenal iron entered the blood through ferroportin without restriction at 3 weeks,and excessive iron entered the liver and then affected the hepatocyte membranes permeability and lipid synthesis through oxidative stress.With the prolongation of dietary intervention,the up-regulated hepcidin acted on the ferroportin to restrict excess iron from entering the blood,and then the hepatic homeostasis recovered.In addition,hemoglobin hydrolysate enhanced the hepatic antioxidant capacity.Taken together,hemoglobin hydrolysate has a strong ability to promote the absorption of non-heme iron in vivo,and the absorbed iron is relatively safe due to the regulation of hepcidin.

Real-Time Observation of Instantaneous ac Stark Shift of a Vacuum Using a Zeptosecond Laser Pulse

Based on the numerical solution of the time-dependent Dirac equation,we propose a method to observe in real time the ac Stark shift of a vacuum driven by an ultra-intense laser field.By overlapping the ultra-intense pump pulse with another zeptosecond probe pulse whose photon energy is smaller than 2mc^(2),electron–positron pair creation can be controlled by tuning the time delay between the pump and probe pulses.Since the pair creation rate depends sensitively on the instantaneous vacuum potential,one can reconstruct the ac Stark shift of the vacuum potential according to the time-delay-dependent pair creation rate.

Independent and Combined Associations of Sleep Duration, Bedtime, and Polygenic Risk Score with the Risk of Hearing Loss among Middle-Aged and Old Chinese: The Dongfeng–Tongji Cohort Study

Evidence available on the independent and combined associations of sleep duration,bedtime,and genetic predisposition with hearing loss was lacking.The present study included 15,827 participants from the Dongfeng–Tongji cohort study.Genetic risk was characterized by polygenic risk score(PRS)based on 37 genetic loci related to hearing loss.We conducted multivariate logistic regression models to assess the odds ratio(OR)for hearing loss with sleep duration and bedtime,as well as the joint association and interaction with PRS.Results showed that hearing loss was independently associated with sleeping≥9 h/night compared to the recommended 7 to9:00 p.***.to 10:00 p.***.compared to those with bedtime>10:00 p.***.to 11:00 p.m.,with estimated ORs of 1.25,1.27,and 1.16,respectively.

Design of Ca-type todorokite catalysts with highly active for the selective reduction of NO_(x) by NH_(3) at low temperatures

Ca-type todorokite catalysts were designed and prepared by a simple redox method and applied to the selective reduction of NO_(x) by NH_(3)(NH_(3)-SCR)for the first time.Compared with the Na-type manjiroite prepared by the same method,the todorokite catalysts with different Mn/Ca ratios showed greatly improved catalytic activity for NO_(x) reduction.Among them,Mn8Ca4 catalyst exhibited the best NH_(3)-SCR performance,achieving 90%NO_(x) conversion within temperature range of 70-275℃ and having a high sulphur resistance.Compared to the Na-type manjiroite sample,Ca-type todorokite catalysts possessed an increased size of tunnel,resulting in a larger specific surface area.As increased the amounts of Ca doping,the Na content in Ca-type todorokite catalysts significantly decreased,providing larger amounts of Bronsted acid sites for NH_(3) adsorption to produce NH_(4)^(+).The NH_(4)^(+)species were highly active for reaction with NO+O_(2),playing a determining role in NH_(3)-SCR process at low temperatures.Meanwhile,larger amounts of surface adsorbed oxygen contained over the Ca-doping samples than that over Na-type manjiroite,promoting the oxidation of NO and fast SCR processes.Over the Ca-type todorokite catalysts,furthermore,nitrates produced during the flow of NO+O_(2),were more active for reaction with NH_(3) than that over Na-type manjiroite,benefiting the occurrence of NH_(3)-SCR process.This study provides novel insights into the design of NH_(3)-SCR catalysts with high performance.

Carbon coated Si core–shell structures have been proposed to solve the adverse effects of Si-based anode.However,designing ideal core–shell architecture with excellent surface and interface properties is still a significant challenge.Herein,a novel peanut-like structure of B-doped silicon/carbon nanoparticle(Si@B-C)synthe-sized by sol–gel process and subsequent thermal reduction is reported.The peanut-like Si@B-C electrode demon-strates a superior cyclability of 534 mAh·g^(-1)after 1000 cycles at high current density of 1000 mA·g^(-1).The exceptional electrochemical performance is attributed to the boric acid-induced highly interconnected peanut-like structure and boron heteroatom framework could provide a continuous electron pathway to reduce the irreversible lithium ion loss during rapid cycling.This work provides insight into the development of the heteroatom-doped Si-based anodes with stable cycling performance for LIBs.

Instability mechanism of mining roadway passing through fault at different angles in kilometre-deep mine and control measures of roof cutting and NPR cables

The angle α between the fault strike and the axial direction of the roadway produces different damage characteristics. In this paper, the research methodology includes theoretical analyses, numerical simulations and field experiments in the context of the Daqiang coal mine located in Shenyang, China. The stability control countermeasure of "pre-splitting cutting roof + NPR anchor cable"(PSCR-NPR) is simultaneously proposed. According to the different deformation characteristics of the roadway, the faults are innovatively classified into three types, with α of type I being 0°-30°, α of type II being 30°-60°, and α of type III being 60°-90°. The full-cycle stress evolution paths during mining roadway traverses across different types of faults are investigated by numerical simulation. Different pinch angles α lead to high stress concentration areas at different locations in the surrounding rock. The non-uniform stress field formed in the shallow surrounding rock is an important reason for the instability of the roadway. The pre-cracked cut top shifted the high stress region to the deep rock mass and formed a low stress region in the shallow rock mass. The high prestressing NPR anchor cable transforms the non-uniform stress field of the shallow surrounding rock into a uniform stress field. PSCR-NPR is applied in the fault-through roadway of Daqiang mine. The low stress area of the surrounding rock was enlarged by 3-7 times, and the cumulative convergence was reduced by 45%-50%. It provides a reference for the stability control of the deep fault-through mining roadway.

Thromboangiitis obliterans(TAO)is a rare,chronic,progressive,and segmental inflammatory disease characterized by a high rate of amputation,significantly compromising the quality of life of patients.Si-miao-Yong-An decoction(SMYA),a tradition-al prescription,exhibits anti-inflammatory,anti-thrombotic,and various other pharmacological properties.Clinically,it was fully proved to be effective for TAO therapy,but the specific therapeutic effect of SMYA on TAO has been unknown.Thus,deep unveiling the mechanism of SMYA in TAO for identifying clinical therapeutic targets is extremely important.In this study,we observed elev-ated levels of IL-17A in the peripheral blood mononuclear cells(PBMCs)of TAO patients,whereas the expression of miR-548j-5p was significantly decreased.A negative correlation between the levels of miR-548j-5p and IL-17A was also demonstrated.In vitro ex-periments showed that overexpression of miR-548j-5p led to a decrease in IL-17A levels,whereas downregulation of miR-548j-5p showed the opposite effect.Using a dual luciferase assay,we confirmed that miR-548j-5p directly targets IL-17A.Furthermore,serum containing SMYA effectively decreased IL-17A levels by increasing the expression of miR-548j-5p.More importantly,the results of in vivo tests indicated that SMYA mitigated the development of TAO by inhibiting IL-17A through the upregulation of miR-548j-5p in vascular tissues.In conclusion,SMYA significantly enhances the expression of miR-548j-5p,thereby reducing the levels of the target gene IL-17A and alleviating TAO.Our research not only identifies novel targets and pathways for the clinical diagnosis and treatment of TAO but also advances the innovation in traditional Chinese medicine through the elucidation of the SMYA/miR-548j-5p/IL-17A regulatory axis in the pathogenesis of TAO.

Photothermal therapy(PTT)has been widely used in the treatment of tumors,but its efficacy is greatly limited by the inability of precise drug delivery and the increase of heat shock proteins(HSPs)caused by high temperature.This article describes a therapeutic strategy to enhance PTT with starvation therapy in conjunction with ferroptosis mechanism.A nanoparticle platform ZIF-8@GA was constructed by wrapping together glucose oxidase(GOX)and gold nanospheres(AuNPs)loaded with dihydroartemisinin(DHA)with zeolitic imidazolate framework-8(ZIF-8).This platform can take advantage of the micro-environment of osteosarcoma(OS)cells,featuring low pH and high reactive oxygen species(ROS),for precision drug delivery.GOX can effectively catalyze glucose to produce gluconic acid and H_(2)O_(2),and DHA can also induce ROS production in OS cells.ROS produced by GOX and DHA can further generate lipid peroxidation(LPO)and lead to ferroptosis of OS cells.At the same time,ROS and LPO produced can inhibit the expression of HSPs,thereby increasing the therapeutic effect of PTT.In vitro experiments show that the nanoparticles are pH and ROS responsive.1μg/mL GOX combined with 0.2μg/mL DHA promotes ferroptosis of OS cells,and increases the killing effect of near-infrared(NIR)on OS cells.Further in vivo experiments showed that the nano drug-delivery platform combined with PTT can effectively inhibit the growth of OS cells.Meanwhile,this study provides a new idea for the treatment of OS with biomaterials combined with various treatment methods.
