A BPR-CNN Based Hand Motion Classifier Using Electric Field Sensors

In this paper,we propose a BPR-CNN(Biometric Pattern Recognition-Convolution Neural Network)classifier for hand motion classification as well as a dynamic threshold algorithm for motion signal detection and extraction by EF(Electric Field)***,an EF sensor or EPS(Electric Potential Sensor)system is attracting attention as a next-generationmotion sensing technology due to low computation and price,high sensitivity and recognition speed compared to other sensor ***,it remains as a challenging problem to accurately detect and locate the authentic motion signal frame automatically in real-time when sensing body-motions such as hand motion,due to the variance of the electric-charge state by heterogeneous surroundings and operational *** hinders the further utilization of the EF sensing;thus,it is critical to design the robust and credible methodology for detecting and extracting signals derived from the motion movement in order to make use and apply the EF sensor technology to electric consumer products such as mobile *** this study,we propose a motion detection algorithm using a dynamic offset-threshold method to overcome uncertainty in the initial electrostatic charge state of the sensor affected by a user and the surrounding environment of the *** method is designed to detect hand motions and extract its genuine motion signal frame successfully with high *** setting motion frames,we normalize the signals and then apply them to our proposed BPR-CNN motion classifier to recognize their motion *** experiment and analysis show that our proposed dynamic threshold method combined with a BPR-CNN classifier can detect the hand motions and extract the actual frames effectively with 97.1%accuracy,99.25%detection rate,98.4%motion frame matching rate and 97.7%detection&extraction success rate.

Objective:To investigate the anti-inflammatory effects of Sanguisorbae Radix on contact dermatitis(CD).Methods:mice were sensitized by painting 30μL of 1-fluoro-2,4-dinitrofluorobenzene(DNFB)onto each ear for 3 *** days later,mice were challenged by painting with 50μL of DNFB onto the shaved dorsum every 2 *** Radix methanol extract(MESR)was applied onto the shaved dorsum every 2 *** effects of MESR on skin thickness,skin weights,histopathological changes,skin lesions and cytokine production in DNFB-induced CD mice were investigated,as well as its effects on body weights and spleen/body weight ***:Topical application of MESR effectively inhibited enlargement of skin thickness and weight(P<0.05).MESR treatment also inhibited hyperplasia,spongiosis and immune cell infiltration induced by DNFB in inflamed tissues and improved lesions on dorsum skin in CD ***,treatment with MESR suppressed the increase in the levels of tumor necrosis factor α(TNF-α,P<0.01)and interferonγ(IFN-γ,P<0.05),***,MESR had no effect on body weight gain or spleen/body weight ***:These data suggest that MESR acts as an anti-inflammatory agent that decreases the production of TNF-α and IFN-γ,resulting in reductions of skin lesions and histopathological changes in inflamed skin tissues.

A 51-year-old male patient was referred to our hospital because of an incidentally detected cystic mass near the common bile duct(CBD). Imaging studies demonstrated a cystic mass that was suspected to communicate with the CBD. Gastroscopy showed irregular mucosal thickening with hyperemic change in the second portion of the duodenum. A type Ⅱ choledochal cyst combined with duodenal malignancy was suspected. The patient underwent surgical resection and the histological diagnosis was mucinous adenocarcinoma of the duodenum with cystic metastasis. Although its incidence is extremely rare, care should be taken to check for other sites of malignancy when a pericholedochal cystic mass is detected.

BACKGROUND In Korea,infliximab was approved for use in children with ulcerative colitis(UC)in October *** To compare the clinical course of UC before and after the introduction of biological agents,and to compare with the IBSEN *** Patients under 18 years of age,who were diagnosed with UC and followed from January 2003 to October 2020,were included in the *** A(n=48)was followed for at least 2 years between January 2003 and October 2012,and Group B(n=62)was followed for at least 2 years between November 2012 and October *** compared endoscopic remission,drug composition,relapse rate,steroidfree period,and the quality of life of each *** plotted the clinical course of the included patients using the pediatric UC activity index score,and compared our patients with those in the IBSEN *** After 2 years of treatment,colonoscopy evaluation revealed different outcomes in the two treatment *** was confirmed in 14 patients(29.2%)of Group A,and in 31 patients(50.0%)of Group B(Pmilar proportions to the graphs in the IBSEN ***,in Group B,the proportion of patients corresponding to curve 1(remission or mild severity after initial high activity)was high at 76%(47/62).CONCLUSION The incidence of relapse has decreased and the steroid-free period has increased after the introduction of the biological *** clinical course also showed a different pattern from that of IBSEN *** active use of biological agents may change the long-term disease course in moderate to severe pediatric UC.

BACKGROUND Electromagnetic interference(Emi),means disturbance to the operation of implanted electrical devices caused by external *** cardiac pacemaker is implanted into the body,the risk of Emi should be considered when performing neuromuscular electrical stimulation(NMES).So far,no case has been reported that clinical magnets are used to safely manage the Emi risk of patients with cardiac pacemaker in *** SUMMARY A 72-year-old male with swallowing disorder due to pure motor lacunar syndrome was transferred to rehabilitation department six days after the symptom *** risk needed be considered when implementing NMES on pharyngeal muscles,since cardiac pacemaker was implanted on his left chest due to the sick sinus *** the first NMES,the function of the pacemaker was directly monitored using telemetric *** the second day,by a simple method of placing a magnet on the pacemaker,we chose to move the pacemaker into a mode that the device was not influenced by external *** magnet method has been used repeatedly for a year for the safe NMES *** could remove Levin tube four months after the initial symptom and dysphagia related symptoms had not been noted during two-year follow-up *** This report is the first case of dysphagia rehabilitation that Emi risk was handled using mode change of pacemaker with *** method is unfamiliar to doctors,but safe and easy *** paper could be guidance for clinicians who need to treat patients with Emi risk.

PIF1 Regulates Plastid Development by Repressing Photosynthetic Genes in the Endodermis

Mutations in Phytochrome Interacting Factors （PIFs） induce a conversion of the endodermal amyloplasts necessary for gravity sensing to plastids with developed thylakoids accompanied by abnormal activation of photosynthetic genes in the dark. In this study, we investigated how PIFs regulate endodermal plastid development by performing comparative transcriptome analysis. We show that both endodermal expression of PIF1 and global expression of the PIF quartet induce transcriptional changes in genes enriched for nuclear-encoded photosynthetic genes such as LHCA and LHCB. Among the 94 shared differentially expressed genes identified from the comparative transcriptome analysis, only 14 genes are demonstrated to be direct targets of PIF1, and most photosynthetic genes are not. Using a co-expression analysis, we identified a direct target of PIF, whose expression pattern shows a strong negative correlation with many photo- synthetic genes. We have named this gene REPRESSOR OF PHOTOSYNTHETIC GENES1 （RPGE1）. Endodermal expression of RPGE1 rescued the elevated expression of photosynthetic genes found in the pff quadruple （pifQ） mutant and partly restored amyloplast development and hypocotyl negative gravitropism. Taken together, our results indicate that RPGE1 acts downstream of PIF1 in the endodermis to repress photosynthetic genes and regulate plastid development.

Clinical significance of the leptin and leptin receptor expressions in prostate tissues

Aim： To evaluate the expression of leptin and leptin receptor in benign prostatic hyperplasia （BPH） and prostate cancer （PCa）, and to investigate whether they are associated with the development and progression of PCa. Methods： hnmunohistochemical staining was performed to examine the expression of leptin and leptin receptor in BPH and PCa. PCa was divided into three groups： localized PCa, locally advanced PCa and metastatic PCa. The positive staining was identified and the percentage of the positive staining was graded. We also assessed the relationship between both the Gleason score and body mass index （Bmi） and PCa. Results： The percentage of the leptin expression in PCa was significantly higher than that in BPH （P 〈 0.01）. For the PCa group, the expressed levels of leptin showed a considerable correlation with localized PCa and metastatic PCa （P 〈 0.05）. Leptin receptor, however, did not reveal a definite difference between BPH and PCa. The expression of leptin indicated a significant difference between well-differentiated PCa （Gleason score ≤6） and poorly differentiated PCa （Gleason score 8-10）（P 〈 0.05）. The relation between the leptin expression level in PCa and the Bmi was not remarkable （P = 0.447）. Conclusion： Our results suggest that leptin might have a promoting effect on the carcinogenesis and progression of PCa.
