This study investigates the hydrochemical formation mechanism of shallow groundwater in the Upper Kebir upstream sub-basin(Northeastern Algeria).The objective is to evaluate water quality suitability for domestic purposes through the application of water quality index(WQI).A total of 24 water points(wells and borewells)evenly distributed in the basin were collected and analyzed in the laboratory for determining the major ions and other geochemical parameters in the *** groundwater hydrochemical types were identified as Cl–Na and Cl–HCO_(3)^(–)Na,with the dominant major ions were found in the order of Na^(+)>Ca^(2+)>Mg^(2+)for cations,and Cl^(−)>SO_(4)^(2−)>HCO_(3)^(–)>NO_(3)^(−)for *** suggest that weathering,dissolution of carbonate,sulfate,salt rocks,and anthropogenic activities were the major contributors to ion content in the *** Water Quality Index(WQI)was calculated to assess the water quality of potable *** 50%of the sampled sites exhibited good water ***,the study highlights significant NO_(3)contamination in the study area,with 50%of samples exceeding permissible ***,effective treatment measures are crucial for the safe consumption of groundwater.

Diabetes mellitus is a predominant chronic disease which causes mortality of millions of people yearly. Its prevalence is on the rise worldwide. Water kefir is fermented food produced by a matrix of polysaccharides containing bacteria and yeasts, with therapeutic properties. Our study aimed to evaluate anti-hyperglycemic and anti-hyperlipidemic activities of water kefir on streptozotocin-induced diabetic Wistar rats. Adult Wistar rats were made diabetic by intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin, and were given or not kefir in drinking water for 5 weeks. Body weight, glucose and lipid levels were measured. The results demonstrated evident improvement in body weight, glucose, and lipid profiles of treated rats comparing with diabetic or control rats. Water kefir is found to be less cost hypoglycemic and hypolipidimic treatment and less time consuming. Water kefir can potentially be useful food for diabetes to control glucose and lipid levels.

Background Extracellular vesicles(EVs) present in oviductal(OF) and uterine fluid(UF) have been shown to enhance bovine embryo quality during in vitro culture by reducing lipid contents and modulating lipid metabolism-related genes(LMGs), while also influencing cell proliferation, suggesting their involvement on the regulation of different biological pathways. The regulation of signaling pathways related to cell differentiation, proliferation, and metabo-lism is crucial for early embryo development and can determine the success or failure of the pregnancy. Bioactive molecules within EVs in maternal reproductive fluids, such as micro RNAs(miRNAs), may contribute to this regulatory process as they modulate gene expression through post-transcriptional *** This study evaluated miRNA cargo in OF-EVs from the early luteal phase and UF-EVs from the mid-luteal phase, coinciding with embryo transit within oviduct and uterus in vivo, and its possible influence on LMGs and sign-aling pathways crucial for early embryo development. A total of 333 miRNAs were detected, with 11 exclusive to OF, 59 to UF, and 263 were common between both groups. From the 20 differentially expressed miRNAs, 19 up-regulated in UF-EVs(bta-miR-134, bta-miR-151-3p, bta-miR-155, bta-miR-188, bta-miR-181b, bta-miR-181d, bta-miR-224, bta-miR-23b-3p, bta-miR-24-3p, bta-miR-27a-3p, bta-miR-29a, bta-miR-324, bta-miR-326, bta-miR-345-3p, bta-miR-410, bta-miR-652, bta-miR-677, bta-miR-873 and bta-miR-708) and one(bta-miR-148b) in OF-EVs. These miRNAs were predicted to modulate several pathways such as Wnt, Hippo, MAPK, and lipid metabolism and degradation. The importance of this study lies in the in-depth exploration of the ecological diversity of otoliths in Elopes lacerta, based on the analysis of data from 260 individuals collected from various sites, including the Porto Novo lagoon, the Cotonou lagoon, Lake Nokou, and the Atlantic coast in southern Benin. The results highlight significant variations in otolith morphology, establishing relevant links with the biological parameters of the fish at each site. Exploration of the asymmetry between the right and left sides reveals notable distinctions between these two aspects. Analysis of otolith shape thus emerges as a valuable tool for discriminating between stocks and providing a better understanding of ecological variations. The local diversity observed highlights the crucial importance of implementing adaptive management strategies to ensure effective conservation of the species and its habitat.

Medieval mosques in Algeria represent an important architectural heritage that deserves to be identifed,studied and *** the period spanning the 7th to 15th centuries,this study investigated medieval mosques in Algeria,spatially and socially,to identify the architectural genotype and to establish whether such mosques present the same topological model that governs their spatial *** study adopted a new approach to spatial analysis of mosques that could be applied to improve understanding of other religious *** syntax as an architectural analysis tool can be used as a qualitative method for drawing justifed graphs and comparing them visually and quantitatively,calculating syntactic measures and integrating visibility graph analysis to identify spatial types,reveal architectural genotypes and explain social *** fndings demonstrate how space syntax with topological analysis and syntactic measures could be used to provide new understanding for architects,students and all those interested in heritage,architecture and design,by uncovering hidden structures and revealing the social logic embodied in the spatial confgurations of mosques.

The electrolyte is an essential component of a battery system since it is responsible for the conduction of ions between the *** the quest for cheaper alternatives to common organic electrolytes for lithium-ion batteries(LIB),we formulated hybrid electrolytes comprising a mixture of Na,K,and Li alkaline salts with ethylene carbonate(EC),ethyl methyl carbonate(EMC),and lithium hexafluorophosphate(LiPF_(6)),giving a total salt concentration of 1.5 M;we determined their physicochemical properties and investigated their electrochemical behavior on a nickel cobalt aluminum oxide(NCA)cathode and graphite(Gr)*** electrolytes demonstrated a melting transition peak(T_(m)).eutectic behavior,and ionic conductivities(-13 mS cm^(-1))close to those of a commercial LIB electrolyte(SE,EC/EMC+1 M LiPF_(6))and activation energies of ca.3 kJ mol^(-1).The half-cell coin cells revealed high coulombic efficiency(99%),specific capacity(175 mAh g^(-1) at C/10),and capacity retention(92% for NaCF_(3)SO_(3))for the NCA cathode and a moderate performance(coulombic efficiency of 98%for 20 cycles)on the graphite anode after the formation of the SEI *** hybrid electrolytes were cycled at 25℃ in a Gr//NCA cell yielding specific capacities of ca.225 mAh g^(-1) at a C/5 rate,corroborating that the anion plays a key role and highlighting their potential for energy storage applications.

This manuscript presents the comprehensive study of thickness stretching effects on the free vibration,static stability and bending of multilayer functionally graded(FG)carbon nanotubes reinforced composite(CNTRC)*** nanoscale and microstructure influences are considered through a modified nonlocal strain gradient continuum *** on power-law functions,four different patterns of CNTs distribution are considered in this analysis,a uniform distribution UD,FG-V CNTRC,FG-X CNTRC,and FG-O CNTRC.A 3D kinematic shear deformation theory is proposed to include the stretching influence,which is neglected in classical ***'s principle is applied to derive the governing equations of motion and associated boundary *** solutions are developed based on Galerkin method to solve the governing equilibrium equations based on the generalized higher-order shear deformation theory and the nonlocal strain gradient theory and get the static bending,buckling loads,and natural frequencies of *** with previous works is presented.A detailed parametric analysis is carried out to highlight the impact of thickness stretching,length scale parameter(nonlocal),material scale parameter(gradient),CNTs distribution pattern,geometry of the plate,various boundary conditions and the total number of layers on the stresses,deformation,critical buckling loads and vibration *** new results are also reported in the current study,which will serve as a benchmark for future research.

Cluster flies are represented by the genus Pollenia Robineau-Desvoidy,1830 of the family Polleniidae Brauer and Bergenstamm,*** larvae are known to be internal parasites or predators of ***,we report for the first time the occurrence of the cluster flies Pollenia rudis Fabricius,1794 and Pollenia vagabunda(Meigen,1826)(Diptera:Polleniidae)on carcasses in Algeria and identify them through DNA barcoding.A region of the mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase I gene(COI)was amplified and *** distances were determined.A phylogenetic tree was constructed with the maximum parsimony method using 10000 bootstrap replicates.A total number of 157 adults of *** were collected together with 325 adults of Pollenia *** occurrence of Pollenia on animal carcasses does not seem to be correlated with a particular stage of *** the sequences were correctly identified using the BLASTn tool from the GenBank database and the BOLD identification ***-and interspecific sequence divergence values were less than 1%and greater than 3%,*** barcodes obtained from this study were robust enough to identify and distinguish unambiguously between *** and *** the tree-based analysis,the cluster flies were all assigned to their respective species separately from each other confirming the morphological *** results provide DNA barcodes that contribute to the growth of reference databases and allow fast and accurate identification.

In the present work,free vibration and buckling analyses of sandwich plates with various functionally graded foam cores are carried *** cores are assumed to be made of metal,and three different configurations of the porous distribution in the core layer are taken into *** carry out a comparative study between the distributions of pores in the core foam,the mass of foam in all three cases is kept the *** vibration and buckling behaviors of skew plates are also analyzed as a part of the current *** principle of minimization of potential energy and Hamilton’s principle are used for the derivation of the governing equations,while a C-0 finite element-based higher-order zigzag formulation is developed to solve the free vibration and buckling *** influences of gradation laws,boundary conditions,skew angle and geometry of plates are studied in detail for the dynamic and stability *** is found that both the non-dimensional natural frequency and buckling load decrease with the increase in the thickness of the metal foam cores,while they show an increasing trend as the skew angle of the plate increases.
