Physical properties of different fibers （mineral, cellulose, or carbon fiber） and their stabilizing and reinforcing effects on asphalt mortar performance were studied. Scanning electron microscopy was used to study the effect of fiber＇s microstructure on asphalt mortar＇s performance. Laboratory tests of mesh-basket draindown and oven heating were designed and performed to evaluate the fibers＇ asphalt absorption and thermostability. A cone penetration test was used to study the flow resistance of fiber-modified asphalt mortar. Results showed that fiber can form a three-dimensional network structure in asphalt, and this network can be retained at high temperature. This network of fibers favors the formation of a thick coating of mastic without asphalt draining down. Cellulose fiber possessed a greater effect on asphalt absorption and sta- bilization than did the other fibers （mineral and carbon fiber）. A dynamic shear rheometer was used to evaluate their rheological properties and rut resistance. Results indicated that fiber can effectively improve the rut and flow resistance of asphalt mortar. However, the bending beam rheometer results demonstrated that the addition of fiber had negative effects on the creep stiffness and creep rate of asphalt mortar.

This paper presents a new and safe method of fabricating super-hydrophobic surface on NiTi Shape Memory Alloy(SMA),which aims to further improve the corrosion resistance performance and biocompatibility of NiTi *** super-hydrophobic surfaces with Water Contact Angle(WCA)of 155.4°±0.9°and Water Sliding Angle(WSA)of 4.4°±1.1°were obtained by the hybrid of laser irradiation and polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS)*** forming mechanism was systematically revealed via Scanming Electron Microscopy(SEM)and X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy(XPS).The ant-corrosion of samples was investigated in Simulated Body Fluid(SBF)via the potentiodynamie polarization(PDP)and Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy(EIS)*** super-hydrophobic coatings showed superior anti-corrosion *** Ni ions release experiment was also conducted and the corresponding result demonstrated that the super-hydrophobic samplcs effectively inhibited the rclease of Ni ions both in clctrolyte and SBF Besides,biocompaibility was further analyzed,indicating that the prepared super-hydrophobic surfaces present a huge potential advantage in biocompatibility.

TiO2/Bi4 Ti3 O12 hybrids have been widely prepared as promising photocatalysts for decomposing organic ***,the insufficient visible light absorption and low charge separation efficiency lead to their poor photocatalytic ***,a robust methodology to construct novel TiO2/Bi4 Ti3 O12/MoS2 core/shell structures as visible light photocatalysts is *** bismuth oxyiodide(BiOI) nanoplates were immobilized on electrospun TiO2 nanofiber surface by successive ionic layer adsorption and reaction(SILAR) ***2/Bi4 Ti3 O12 core/shell nanofibers were conveniently prepared by partial conversion of TiO2 to high crystallized Bi4 Ti3 O12 shells through a solid-state reaction with BiOI nanoplates,which is accompanied with certain transition of TiO2 from anatase to rutile ***,MoS2 nanosheets with several layers thick were uniform decorated on the TiO2/Bi4 TiO3 O12 fiber surface resulting in TiO2/Bi4 Ti3 O12/MoS2 *** enhancement of visible light absorption and photo-generated charge separation of TiO2/Bi4 Ti3 O12 were achieved by introduction of *** a result,the optimized TiO2/Bi4 Ti3 O12/MoS2-2 presents 60% improvement for photodegrading RhB after 120 min irradiation under visible light and 3 times higher of apparent reaction rate constant in compared with the TiO2/Bi4 Ti3 *** synthetic method can also be used to establish other photocatalysts simply at low cost,therefore,is suitable for practical applications.

Why do humans punish free riders at their own expense? This behavior represents an evolutionary puzzle in human societies. This study explores the role of exit strategies in fostering altruistic punishment within evolutionary game theory. We extend the traditional prisoner's dilemma model by incorporating exiters, players who opt out for a small payoff while nullifying their opponent's payoff, and altruistic punishers who cooperate and punish non-cooperators. Our findings indicate that in well-mixed populations, exiters destabilize defection but do not promote altruistic punishment. In social networks, however,exiters enable altruistic punishment via cyclic dominance among altruistic punishers, defectors, and exiters. Notably, this cyclic dominance is sensitive to exit payoffs; adjustments can lead to cyclic dominance of non-punishing cooperators, defectors, and exiters, or to a bi-stable state between these two types of cyclic dominance. These results highlight the nuanced impact of exiters on altruistic punishment, emphasizing the need for careful incentivization of exit behavior. While exiters can support altruistic punishment in networked populations, their effectiveness is not a panacea and is highly sensitive to exit payoffs, indicating limits to the voluntary participation mechanism.

Sedimentary Records of Mangrove Evolution During the Past one Hundred Years Based on Stable Carbon Isotope and Pollen Evidences in Maowei, SW China

Mangroves accumulate sedimentary sequences, where cores can provide historical records of mangrove evolution with past climate change and human activity. The study traced the history of mangrove evolution during the past one hundred years in a mangrove swamp of Maowei Sea, SW China. The sedimentation rates(0.38-0.95 cm yr^(-1)) were calculated on the basis of ln(^(210)Pb_(xs)/Al) and mass depth in the core sediments. Chemical tracers, such as δ^(13)C_(org) and C:N values, were utilized to trace the contribution of mangrove-derived organic matter using a ternary mixing model. Because of potential diagenetic alteration and / or overlap in the isotopic signatures of different components, simultaneous use of mangrove pollen diagrams can help to supplement some of these limitations. Combined with mangrove pollen, mangrove evolution was reconstructed and could be divided into three stages: flourishment(1886-1905 AD), slight degradation(1905-1949 AD) and rapid degradation period(1949-2007 AD), which was consistent with previous reports. The reclamation of mangrove swamps to shrimp ponds was the major reason for rapid degradation of mangrove ecosystems in recent years, rather than climate change in the region.

BACKGROUND Enhanced recovery after surgery strategies are increasingly implemented to improve the management of surgical *** To evaluate the effects of new perioperative fasting protocols in children≥3 mo of age undergoing non-gastrointestinal *** This prospective pilot study included children≥3 mo of age undergoing nongastrointestinal surgery at the Children’s Hospital(Zhejiang University School of Medicine)from January 2020 to June *** children were divided into either a conventional group or an ERAS group according to whether they had been enrolled before or after the implementation of the new perioperative fasting *** children in the conventional group were fasted using conventional strategies,while those in the ERAS group were given individualized fasting protocols preoperatively(6-h fasting for infant formula/non-human milk/solids,4-h fasting for breast milk,and clear fluids allowed within 2 h of surgery)and postoperatively(food permitted from 1 h after surgery).Pre-operative and postoperative fasting times,pre-operative blood glucose,the incidence of postoperative thirst and hunger,the incidence of perioperative vomiting and aspiration,and the degree of satisfaction were *** The study included 303 patients(151 in the conventional group and 152 in the ERAS group).Compared with the conventional group,the ERAS group had a shorter pre-operative food fasting time[11.92(4.00,19.33)vs 13.00(6.00,20.28)h,P<0.001],shorter preoperative liquid fasting time[3.00(2.00,7.50)vs 12.00(3.00,20.28)h,P<0.001],higher preoperative blood glucose level[5.6(4.2,8.2)vs 5.1(4.0,7.4)mmol/L,P<0.001],lower incidence of thirst(74.5%vs 15.3%,P<0.001),shorter time to postoperative feeding[1.17(0.33,6.83)vs 6.00(5.40,9.20),P<0.001],and greater satisfaction[7(0,10)vs 8(5,10),P<0.001].No children experienced perioperative *** incidences of hunger,perioperative vomiting,and fever were not significantly different between the two groups.

The translocation time of a polymer chain through an interaction energy gradient nanopore was studied by Monte Carlo simulations and the Fokker-Planck equation with double-absorbing boundary condi- tions. Both the simulation and calculation revealed three different behaviors for polymer translocation. These behaviors can be explained qualitatively from free-energy landscapes obtained for polymer translocation at different parameters. Results show that the translocation time of a polymer chain through a nanopore can be tuned by suitably designing the interaction energy gradient.

Cr release from stainless steels in different simulant fluids according to different test conditions is carried out with emphasis on ferritic stainless steels. Effects of Cr content and surface roughness on Cr release are discussed specially with a relation to corrosion resistant and passive film formation. Some primary results are attained：（1） higher Cr content means better corrosion resistance including higher potential and lower corrosion rate and less amount of Cr release from base metal; （2） decreasing surface roughness is in favor of the formation of passive film which can re- train Cr release from base metal effectively; （3） Cr content and surface roughness have synthetical effects on Cr release with a narrow innoxious field referring to surface roughness with decreasing Cr content in stainless steels.
