Prostate artery embolization on lower urinary tract symptoms related to benign prostatic hyperplasia: A systematic review and metaanalysis

BACKGROUND Prostate artery embolization(PAE)is a promising minimally invasive therapy that improves lower urinary tract symptoms(LUTS)related to benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH).Transurethral resection of the prostate(TURP)is the gold standard therapy for LUTS/*** To evaluate the efficacy and safety of PAE vs TURP on LUTS related to *** A literature review was performed to identify all published articles on PAE vs TURP for LUTS/*** included PubMed,Embase,Cochrane library databases,and Chinese databases before June 2022.A systematic review and meta-analysis were *** measurements were combined by calculating the mean difference with a 95%confidence *** analysis was carried out using Review Manager *** Eleven studies involving 1070 participants were *** with the TURP group,the PAE group had a similar effect on the International Index of Erectile Function(IPSS)score,Peak urinary flow rate(Qmax),postvoid residual volume(PVR),Prostate volume(PV),prostatic specific antigen(PSA),The International Index of Erectile Function short form(IIEF-5)scores,and erectile dysfunction during 24 mo *** quality of life(QoL)score,lower rate of retrograde ejaculation and shorter hospital stay in the PAE *** was no participant death in either group.A higher proportion of haematuria,urinary incontinence and urinary stricture was identified in the TURP *** PAE may be an appropriate option for elderly patients,patients who are not candidates for surgery,and patients who do not want to risk the potential adverse effects of *** with large cases and long follow-up time are needed to validate results.

As the Chinese government proposes ambitious plans to promote low-carbon transition,energy storage will play a pivotal role in China’s future power ***,due to the lack of a mature electricity market environment and corresponding mechanisms,current energy storage in China faces problems such as unclear operational models,insufficient cost recovery mechanisms,and a single investment entity,making it difficult to support the rapid development of the energy storage *** contrast,European and American countries have already embarked on certain practices in energy storage operation *** exploration of key issues such as investment entities,market participation forms,and cost recovery channels in both front and back markets,a wealth of mature experiences has been ***,this paper first summarizes the existing practices of energy storage operation models in North America,Europe,and Australia’s electricity markets separately from front and back markets,finding that perfect market mechanisms and reasonable subsidy policies are among the main drivers for promoting the rapid development of energy storage ***,combined with the actual development of China’s electricity market,it explores three key issues affecting the construction of costsharing mechanisms for energy storage under market conditions:Market participation forms,investment and operation modes,and cost recovery ***,in line with the development expectations of China’s future electricitymarket,suggestions are proposed fromfour aspects:Market environment construction,electricity price formation mechanism,cost sharing path,and policy subsidy mechanism,to promote the healthy and rapid development of China’s energy storage industry.

Low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C)is an independent risk factor for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease(ASCVD).Even after lipid-lowering therapy(LLT)with statins or statin–ezetimibe,a large proportion of patients at very high risk still do not reach the LDL-C targets(<1.4 mmol/L and≥50%reduction).[1,2]Proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 inhibitor(PCSK9i)is recommended for patients at high or very high cardiovascular risk inwhom LDL-C reduction is not adequate with statin therapy or in those with statin *** data are available regarding the use of PCSK9i in China.

Acoustic emission detection of 316L stainless steel welded joints during intergranular corrosion

This study analyzes acoustic emission （AE） signals during the intergranular corrosion （IGC） process of 316L stainless steel welded joints under different welding currents in boiling nitric acid. IGC generates several AE signals with high AE activity. The AE technique could hardly distinguish IGC in stainless steel welded joints with different welding heat inputs. However, AE signals can effectively distinguish IGC characteristics in different corrosion stages. The IGC resistance of a heat-affected zone is lower than that of a weld zone. The initiation and rapid corrosion stages can be distinguished using AE results and microstructural analysis. Moreover, energy count rate and amplitude are considered to be ideal parameters for characterizing different IGC processes. Two types of signals are detected in the rapid corrosion stage. It can be concluded that grain boundary corrosion and grain separation are the AE sources of type 1 and type 2, respectively.

对1例卵母细胞成熟阻滞患者进行全外显子组测序,通过生物信息学筛查可疑致病变异,对患者及其家系成员进行Sanger测序验证。测序提示患者TUBB8基因存在c.154-156del(p.52del)杂合缺失变异,患者的父母、哥哥、姐姐和侄女均未检出该变异,患者的哥哥、姐姐均已生育,该变异与家系表型共分离,提示TUBB8基因c.154-156del(p.52del)杂合缺失变异可能是该卵母细胞成熟阻滞患者的遗传学病因。TUBB8基因变异在卵母细胞成熟阻滞患者中约占30%,对于这类患者的遗传咨询可常规行TUBB8基因检查,而TUBB8基因变异引起的卵母细胞成熟阻滞患者只能通过卵母细胞捐赠助孕。

Research on the Impact of China’s Foreign Trade Technology Spillover on Green Total Factor Productivity of Countries Along the“Belt and Road”:Based on the Institutional Quality Threshold Effect

China’s growing trade with countries along the“Belt and Road”Initiative is accompanied by a focus on green *** on the panel data from 2007 to 2018,this paper establishes a threshold regression model to empirically analyze the institutional quality threshold effect of China’s foreign trade technology spillover on the GTFP of countries along the“Belt and Road.”The results show that China’s foreign trade technology spillover has a significant institutional quality double threshold effect on the green total factor productivity of the countries along the“Belt and Road.”As the institutional quality of the countries along the“Belt and Road”crosses a specific threshold value,the impact of China’s foreign trade technology spillover on the green total factor productivity of the countries along the“Belt and Road”has a significant positive promoting effect,and corresponding suggestions are put forward.

From risk control to resilience: developments and trends of urban roads designed as surface flood passages to cope with extreme storms

Urban roads can be designated as surface flood passages to transport excess runoff during extreme storms, thereby preventing local flooding, which is known as the major drainage system. However, this practice poses significant risks, including human loss and property damage, due to the high flow rate and velocity carried by roads. Moreover, urban roads with low flood-resilience may significantly hamper the transportation function during severe storms, leading to dysfunction of the city. Therefore, there is an urgent need to transform risk-oriented flood passages into resilient urban road-based flood passages. This paper presents a systematic review of existing methodologies in designing a road network-based flood passage system, along with the discussion of new technologies to enhance system resilience. The study also addresses current knowledge gaps and future directions. The results indicate that flood management measures based on the urban road network should integrate accessibility assessment, lifeline and emergency planning to ensure human well-being outcomes. Furthermore, the special needs and features of vulnerable groups must be taken into serious consideration during the planning stage. In addition, a data-driven approach is recommended to facilitate real-time management and evaluate future works.
