Quaternary water-in-oil reverse micelles consisting of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB), n-hexanol, n-heptane and water were prepared and characterized. The optimized reaction conditions were determined, and monodispersed droplets of the reverse micelles were used as microreactors to synthesize CdS nanoparticles. By using transmission electron microscopy (TEM), UV-Vis spectroscopy and fluorescence spectroscopy, the influences of the reverse micelle components on the size, size distribution, morphology, stability and optical properties of CdS nanoparticles were investigated. CdS nanoparticles with narrow size distribution were obtained and the size range is 6-8 nm when W=24 (W=[water]/[CTAB]), F=5.27 (P=[n-hexanol]/ [CTAB]), [CTAB]=0.2 mol/L, [Cd2+] and [S2-] are 8.45×10-4 mol/L.

Single-crystal x-ray diffraction(SCXRD)is an important tool to study the crystal structure and phase transitions of crystalline materials at elevated *** Partnership for eXtreme Xtallography(PX^(2))program at the GSECARS 13-BM-C beamline of the Advanced Photon Source aims to provide state-of-the-art experimental capabilities to determine the crystal structures of materials under extreme conditions using ***^(2) provides a focused x-ray beam(12318μm^(2))at a monochromatic energy of 28.6 ***-pressure SCXRD experiments are performed with a six-circle diffractometer and a Pilatus3 photon-counting detector,facilitated by a membrane system for remote pressure control and an online ruby fluorescence system for pressure *** efficient,high-quality crystal structure determination at PX^(2) is exemplified by a study of pressure-induced phase transitions in natural ilvaite[CaFe^(2+)_(2 )Fe^(3+)Si_(2)O_(7)O(OH),P2_(1)/a space group].Two phase transitions are observed at high *** SCXRD data confirm the already-known ilvaite-I(P2_(1)/a)→ilvaite-II(Pnam)transformation at 0.4(1)GPa,and,a further phase transition is found to occur at 22.8(2)GPa where ilvaite-II transforms into ilvaite-III(P2_(1)/a).The crystal structure of the ilvaite-III is solved and refined in the P2_(1)/a space *** addition to the ilvaite-I→ilvaite-II→ilvaite-III phase transitions,two minor structural modifications are observed as discontinuities in the evolution of the FeO6 polyhedral geometries with pressure,which are likely associated with magnetic transitions.

Background:Recently,sildenafil was introduced to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH);however,there are currently few studies on the pharmacokinetics of sildenalfil in ***,we aimed to carry out a pharmacokinetic study of sildenafil in children with PAH using a single ***:Twelve children diagnosed with PAH,consisting of with ten males and two females,were recruited for the study after obtaining written consent from their parents or *** samples were obtained predose and at 0.25,0.5,1,2,4,8 and 12 hours after the oral administration of 1 mg/kg of sildenafil using an extemporal pediatric formulation developed in our *** samples were analyzed using a previously validated high performance liquid chromatography ***:A pharmacokinetic analysis using the Winnonlin 3.1 program that considered the Akaike information criterion (AIC) for sdecting a more adjustable model was *** following pharmacokinetic parameters were obtained:maximal concentration (Cmax):366+179 ng/mL,time to maximal concentration:0.92±0.30 hours,elimination half-life (t1/2):2.41±1.18 hours,total clearance (CLto/F):5.85±2.81 L/hour,volume of distribution (Vd/F):20.13±14.5 L,absorption rate constants (Ka):0.343 hour-1,elimination rate (Ke):0.35 hour-1,area under curve from zero to infinity:2061±618 ng/mL/*** data of all patients adjusted to the model of one compartment were corroborated using ***:The parameters Ka,Ke and t1/2 were found to be similar to those reported in adults;however,the values of Cmax and Vd/F were significantly *** on these findings,we propose that treatment regimen of sildenafil be adjusted in children with PAH.

The present study focused on the hydrochemistry of groundwater in parts of ch.ndauli-Varanasi region to assess the quality of groundwater for determining its suitability for drinking and agricultural purposes. Urbanization and agriculture activities have a lot of impacts on the groundwater quality of the study area. A total of 70 ground water samples were collected randomly from different sources viz. hand pump, dug wells and bore wells, and analyzed for major cations and anions. The domination of cations and anions was in the order of na > Ca > Mg > K and HCO3 > Cl > SO4 > nO3 > F. The Piper classification for hydrogeochemical facies indicates that alkaline earth exceeds alkalis and weak acids exceed strong acid. Water quality index rating was calculated to quantify overall water quality for human consumption. Out of 70 groundwater samples, 7% and 10% samples exhibit water unsuitable for drinking purposes in pre- and post-monsoon, respectively, due to effective leach.ng of ions, direct discharge of domestic effluents and agricultural activities. Residual sodium carbonate values revealed that 6% sample is not suitable for irrigation purposes in both the seasons due to low permeability of the soil. The calculated values of PI indicate that the water for irrigation uses is excellent to good quality in both seasons. As per Wilcox’s diagram and US salinity laboratory classification, most of the groundwater samples are suitable for irrigation except one sample which is unsuitable for irrigation purposes. The overall quality of groundwater in post-monsoon season in all chemical constituents is on the higher side due to dissolution of surface pollutants during the infiltration and percolation of rainwater at few places due to agricultural and domestic activities.

This work utilizes a statistical approach of Principal Component Ana-lysis(PCA)towards the detection of Methane(ch_(4))-Carbon Monoxide(CO)Poi-soning occurring in coal mines,forestfires,drainage systems *** the ch_(4) and CO emissions are very high in closed buildings or confined spaces during oxi-dation *** methane and carbon monoxide are highly toxic,colorless and odorless *** of the gases have their own toxic levels to be *** during their combined presence,the toxicity of the either one goes unidentified may be due to their low levels which may lead to an *** using PCA,the correlation of CO and ch_(4) data is carried out and by identifying the areas of high correlation(along the principal component axis)the explosion suppression action can be triggered earlier thus avoiding adverse effects of massive ***-less Sensor network is deployed and simulations are carried with heterogeneous sensors(Carbon Monoxide and Methane sensors)in nS-2 Mannasim *** rise in the value of CO even when ch_(4) is below the toxic level may become hazardous to the people *** our proposed methodology will detect the combined presence of both the gases(ch_(4) and CO)and provide an early warning in order to avoid any human losses or toxic effects.
