The pathogenes.s.of inflammatory bowel dis.as. (IBD) is.complex and largely unknown. Until recently, res.arch has.focus.d on the s.udy of protein regulators.in inflammation to reveal the cellular and molecular networks.in the pathogenes.s.of IBD. However, in the las. few years. new and promis.ng ins.ghts.have been generated from s.udies.des.ribing an as.ociation between an altered expres.ion of a s.ecific clas. of non-coding RNAs. called microRNAs.(miRs.or miRNAs. and IBD. The s.ort (approximately 22 nucleotides., endogenous. s.ngle-s.randed RNAs.are evolutionary cons.rved inanimals.and plants. and regulate s.ecific target mRNAs.at the pos.-trans.riptional level. MiRNAs.are involved in s.veral biological proces.es. including development, cell differentiation, proliferation and apoptos.s. Furthermore, it is.es.imated that miRNAs.may be res.ons.ble for regulating the expres.ion of nearly one-third of the genes.in the human genome. Thus. miRNA deregulation often res.lts.in an impaired cellular function, and a dis.urbance of downs.ream gene regulation and s.gnaling cas.ades. s.gges.ing their implication in dis.as. etiology. Des.ite the identification of more than 1900 mature human miRNAs. very little is.known about their biological functions.and functional targets. Recent s.udies.have identified dys.egulated miRNAs.in tis.ue s.mples.of IBD patients.and have demons.rated s.milar differences.in circulating miRNAs.in the s.rum of IBD patients. Thus. there is.great promis. that miRNAs.will aid in the early diagnos.s.of IBD, and in the development of pers.nalized therapies. Here, we provide a s.ort review of the current s.ate-of-the-art of miRNAs.in IBD pathogenes.s. diagnos.ics.and therapeutics.

AIM: To inves.igate whether there was.a relations.ip between the liver functions.and fibros.s.s.ores.of hepatitis.B patients.and their TNF-α, IFN-γ,IL-4, and TGF-β1 s.rum levels.bas.d on the s.udies.of liver biops.es. METHODs. Thirty patients.with chronic hepatitis.B (CHB) receiving no treatment and 30 healthy individuals.with negative hepatitis.s.rology and normal values.of liver biochemis.ry were s.udied. After s.rum s.mples.of the patients.were collected, liver needle biops. was.performed on each patient. Cytokine levels.were s.udied by ELIs.. The biops. materials.were s.ored bas.d on Knodell's.his.ological activity index. REs.LTs. In comparis.n of cytokine levels.between CHB patients.and control group, TNF-α,IL-4, and TGPβ1 levels.of the patients.were higher in CHB patients.than in the controls. while IFN-γ level was.lower in the patients.than in the controls. There were s.gnificant differences.between the groups.in TNF-α, IL-4, TGF-β1, and IFN-γ(Ps.ectively).There was.a negative correlation between TGF-β1 and IL-4 and IFN-γ(Ps.and IFN-γ and IL-4 were not correlated (P>0.05). TGF-β1 was.correlated with fibros.s.(Ps.s.and TNF-α, IL-4, and IFN-γ were not correlated (P>0.05). CONCLUs.ON: In the cours. of HBV infection and its.chronic progres., cytokines.play an important role. IL-4 and IFN-γ are effective in the chronic progres.ion, while TGF-β1 is.effective in the development of fibros.s. s.rum cytokine levels.may be effective tools.in the es.imation of chronic progres.ion and fibros.s.development.

AIM: To compare the benefi cial effects.of early enteral nutrition (EN) with prebiotic fiber s.pplementation in patients.with s.vere acute pancreatitis.(AP).METHODs. Thirty cons.cutive patients.with s.vere AP, who required s.oppage of oral feeding for 48 h, were randomly as.igned to nas.jejunal EN with or without prebiotics. APACHE Ⅱ s.ore, Balthazar’s.CT s.ore and CRP were as.es.ed daily during the s.udy ***: The median duration of hos.ital s.ay was.s.orter in the s.udy group [10 ± 4 (8-14) d vs.15 ± 6 (7-26) d] (P s.in intens.ve care unit was.als. s.milar in both groups.[6 ± 2 (5-8) d vs.6 ± 2 (5-7) d]. The median duration of EN was.8 ± 4 (6-12) d vs.10 ± 4 (6-13) d in the s.udy and control groups. res.ectively (P > 0.05). Deaths.occurred in 6 patients.(20%), 2 in the s.udy group and 4 in the control group. The mean duration of APACHE Ⅱ normalization (APACHE Ⅱ s.ore s.s.orter in the s.udy group than in the control group (4 ± 2 d vs.6.5 ± 3 d, P s.als. s.orter in the s.udy group than in the control group (7 ± 2 d vs.10 ± 3 d, P s.ON: Nas.jejunal EN with prebiotic fiber s.pplementation in s.vere AP improves.hos.ital s.ay, duration nutrition therapy, acute phas. res.ons. and overall complications.compared to s.andard EN therapy.

AIM:To inves.igate whether oral glutamine pretreatment prevents.impairment of intes.inal mucos.l integrity during is.hemia-reperfus.on (I/R) in rats. METHODs. The s.udy was.performed as.two s.ries.with 40 rats.in each. Each s.ries.of animals.was.divided into four groups. The firs. group was.us.d as.a control. Animals.in the s.cond group were only pretreated with oral glutamine, 1 g/kg for 4 d. The third group received a normal diet, and underwent intes.inal I/R, while the fourth group was.pretreated with oral glutamine in the s.me way, and underwent intes.inal I/R. Intes.inal mucos.l permeability to 51Cr-labeled EDTA was.meas.red in urine in the firs. s.ries.of animals. In the s.cond s.ries. his.opathological changes.in intes.inal tis.ue and plas.a endotoxin levels.were evaluated. REs.LTs. Intes.inal I/R produced a s.gnificant increas. in intes.inal permeability, plas.a endotoxin level and wors.ned his.opathological alterations. After intes.inal I/R, permeability was.s.gnificantly lower in glutamine- treated rats.compared to thos. which received a normal diet. However, no s.gnificant change was.obs.rved in plas.a endotoxin levels.or his.opathological findings. CONCLUs.ON: Although glutamine pretreatment s.ems.to be protective of intes.inal integrity, upon I/R injury, s.ch an effect was.not obs.rvable in the his.opathological changes.or plas.a endotoxin level.

A s.ries.of Cretaceous.plutons.is.pres.nt in the eas.ern Pontides.of northeas.ern Turkey. The Turnag61 intrus.on is.the leas. s.udied and, thus. the leas. unders.ood plutons.in the orogen. This.intrus.on cons.s.s.of hornblende-biotite granodiorites.emplaced at 78 Ma bas.d on LA-ICP-Ms.U-Pb zircon dating. It is.of s.b- alkaline affinity, belongs.to the medium- to high-K calc-alkaline s.ries. and dis.lays.features.typical of I- type granites. The rocks.of the intrus.on are enriched in large-ion lithophile elements.and light rare earth- elements.with negative Eu anomalies.（EuJEu＊ = 0.69-0.82）, but are deficient in high-field-s.rength elements. They have a s.all range of （87s./s.s.）i （0.7060 0.7063）, ENd （-2.6 to 3.1）, and 6180 （＋8.1 to ＋9.1） values. Their Pb is.topic ratios.are 206pb/204pb = 18.63-18.65, ＇207Tpb/204pb = 15.62-15.63, and 208pb/204pb 38.53-38.55. The fractionation of plagioclas., hornblende, and Fe-Ti oxides.had key functions.in the evolution of the Turnag61 intrus.on. The crys.allization temperatures.of the melts.ranged from 758 to 885 ℃ as.determined by zircon and apatite s.turation thermometry. All thes. characteris.ics. combined with the low values.of K20/Na20 and （Na20 ＋ K20）/（FeOt ＋ MgO ＋ TiO2）, as.well as.the high values.of （CaO ＋ FeOt ＋ MgO ＋ TiO2）, s.gges. an origin by dehydration melting from a metabas.ltic lower crus.al s.urce.

AIM: To compare and evaluate the clinical outcomes.of deep anterior lamellar keratoplas.y(DALK) and excimer las.r as.is.ed anterior lamellar keratoplas.y(ELLK) in eyes.with ***: In this.s.udy, 57 eyes.of 56 patients.operated between 2013 to 2017 were included. Thirty-one eyes.underwent big-bubble DALK and twenty-s.x eyes.underwent ELLK. Preoperative and at control vis.ts.complete ophthalmic examination was.performed. REs.LTs. The mean patient age at the time of DALK s.rgery was.27 y and mean follow-up period was.21±5.4 mo. The mean patient age at the time of ELLK s.rgery was.27 y and mean follow-up period was.40±18 mo. Mean bes. s.ectacle corrected vis.al acuity(Bs.VA) at pos.operative period was.s.gnificantly higher for DALK group(0.66±0.11) vers.s.ELLK group(0.4±0.2)(Ps.emet's.membrane microperforation was.occurred in 7 patients.in DALK group vers.s.in 1 patient in ELLK group. In 4 eyes. interface irregularity was.developed in ELLK group. None of the patients.in follow-up had graft rejection in both ***: In ELLK group, complication rate is.lower, the s.rgical technique is.s.mpler, fas.er and s.fer and als. ELLK requires.les. experience with res.ect to DALK. Further, DALK can be performed unles. s.tis.actory vis.al acuity is.achieved after ELLK.

NdFeB magnets.currently dominate the magnet market. s.pply ris.s.of certain rare earth metals.REM）, e.g. Nd and Dy, impos. efficient recycling s.hemes.that are applicable to different types.and compos.tions.of thes. magnets.with minimum us. of chemicals.and was.e generation. In this.s.udy, a hydrometallurgical method was.s.udied that could be adjus.ed to recover not only REM, but als. other valuable metals.***, Ni and Cu） that co-exis.ed in the magnet. The magnet powders.were completely dis.olved in a dilute s.lfuric acid s.lution giving more than 98% of dis.olved iron in the ferrous.s.ate. Chemical oxidation of Fe-（2＋） into Fe-（3＋） by the addition of MnO 2 required only 1 h at ambient temperature. It was.then pos.ible to precipitate more than 99% of this.ferric iron by adjus.ing the pH of the s.lution above 3 with either Ca（OH）2 or MnO additions. However, the addition of Ca（OH）2 res.lted in the formation of gyps.m and up to ca. 23% REM los.es. pos.ibly via co-precipitation into the gyps.m. MnO elevated the Mn-（2＋） concentration in the s.lution. However, it was.found to be problematic that s.bs.quent direct electrolys.s.removed Mn and Co. Low anodic current efficiencies.ACE） res.lted in high energy cons.mption（EC）, while incomplete Mn and Co removals.and undes.red REM los.es.were reported. Pre-electrolys.s.removals.of REM and/or Co by oxalate and/or s.lfide precipitation were proven to be s.cces.ful and s.lective, but this.enlarged the flows.eet cons.derably with only minor improvement of the Mn removal, ACE and EC.
