Introduction and Significance: Burn injury (BI) is a considerable health issue which is responsible for around 300,000 deaths and affecting about 11 million people every year worldwide. In Saudi Arabia, the prevalence of BIs array from 112 to 518 per 100,000 per year. The appropriate awareness of performing first aid could facilitate to improve the outcomes of burns. Purpose and Objectives: To appraise the community that acknowledges burns, first aid, and associated factors among the community population in Jazan City, Saudi Arabia. The paper aims to identify limitations to encourage additional research and persuade legislators to develop improved burn-injury care recommendations and training programs. Materials and Methods: An observational-based sample survey was conducted among the people who live in Jazan City aging 13 years or more, during April 5 to May 5, 2023. Data collection was done by a validated online self-administrated questionnaire sent randomly to community members in different parts of Jazan City via social media platforms. Collected data were coded and cleaned by an excel program, and finally exported on SPSS 26.0 software. The variables were analyzed using descriptive statistics like frequencies and percentages. Also, the Chi-square test was used to investigate the relation between different variables, with a significance value of P Results: This study included 243 participants (about 62%) among them were mostly male participants (151) having a university degree. The majority of participants 75% did not take any form of BFA training in the past. This study shows that 69.9% of the participants have inadequate awareness, despite 72% having a constructive attitude towards burn first aid. Previous burn-related first aid training was significantly associated with participants’ knowledge of BFA at a p-value less than 0.05. 目的:在真实世界的前瞻性队列研究中观察心内科门诊“极高危ASCVD”患者在治疗起始阶段采用联合降脂策略的疗效与安全性。方法:连续入组2021年1月至6月在湘雅医院心内科高脂血症专病门诊就诊的“极高危ASCVD”患者,根据其实际降脂策略分为三组:阿托伐他汀单药组;阿托伐他汀联合依折麦布组;阿托伐他汀联合依洛尤单抗组。主要观察终点为治疗一个月后低密度脂蛋白胆固醇(LDL-C)、脂蛋白a[Lp(a)]、非-HDL-C变化,次要终点为总胆固醇(TC)、甘油三酯(TG)、LDL-C、超敏C反应蛋白(hs-CRP)变化及安全性指标。结果:无论哪种联合方式,在“极高危ASCVD”患者降脂起始阶段联合降脂治疗的疗效均显著优于阿托伐他汀单药组:LDL-C、Log[Lp(a)]、非-HDL-C、TC的降幅更大,差异均有统计学意义(均P0.05)。以“LDL-C<1.4 mmol/L或<1.8 mmol/L”作为降脂达标的标准时,两组联合降脂治疗的LDL-C达标率均高于阿托伐他汀单药组,差异均有统计学意义(均P<0.05);阿托伐他汀联合依洛尤单抗组的LDL-C达标率高于阿托伐他汀联合依折麦布组,差异均有统计学意义(均P<0.05)。单独或联合“LDL下降超过50%”的降幅为达标标准,三组均无人能达标。治疗后三组间的肝脏转氨酶水平变化差异均无统计学意义(均P<0.05);三组间心肌酶同工酶(CK-MB)均下降,但差异无统计学意义(P<0.05)。与阿托伐他汀单药组相比,两联合降脂组治疗组的血糖均下降,差异具有统计学意义(P<0.05);阿托伐他汀联合依折麦布组的血糖比阿托伐他汀联合依洛尤单抗组的降幅更大,差异有统计学意义(P<0.05)。结论:起始联合降脂治疗1个月对心内科门诊“极高危ASCVD”患者的降脂效果及LDL-C的达标率优于阿托伐他汀单药组。以LDL-C<1.4 mmol/L或<1.8 mmol/L为降脂达标目标时,阿托伐他汀联合依洛尤单抗组治疗1个月后LDL-C达标率高于联合依折麦布组;以“LDL下降超过50%”的降幅作为降脂达标标准时,1个月内很难达标。门诊“极高危ASCVD”患者采用起始联合的降脂治疗1个月无不良反应。起始联合降脂策略可用于心内科门诊“极高危ASCVD”患者中LDL-C数值需早期达标的人群,阿托伐他汀联合依洛尤单抗可用于需在1个月内LDL-C<1.4 mmol/L或<1.8 mmol/L的人群。

Numerical storm surge model with higher order finite difference method of lines for the coast of Bangladesh

In this study, the method of lines (MOLs) with higher order central difference approximation method coupled with the classical fourth order Runge-Kutta (RK(4,4)) method is used in solving shallow water equations (SWEs) in Cartesian coordinates to foresee water levels associated with a storm accurately along the coast of Bangladesh. In doing so, the partial derivatives of the SWEs with respect to the space variables were discretized with 5-point central difference, as a test case, to obtain a system of ordinary differential equations with time as an independent variable for every spatial grid point, which with initial conditions were solved by the RK(4,4) method. The complex land-sea interface and bottom topographic details were incorporated closely using nested schemes. The coastal and island boundaries were rectangularized through proper stair step representation, and the storing positions of the scalar and momentum variables were specified according to the rules of structured C-grid. A stable tidal regime was made over the model domain considering the effect of the major tidal constituent, M2 along the southern open boundary of the outermost parent scheme. The Meghna River fresh water discharge was taken into account for the inner most child scheme. To take into account the dynamic interaction of tide and surge, the generated tidal regime was introduced as the initial state of the sea, and the surge was then made to come over it through computer simulation. Numerical experiments were performed with the cyclone April 1991 to simulate water levels due to tide, surge, and their interaction at different stations along the coast of Bangladesh. Our computed results were found to compare reasonable well with the limited observed data obtained from Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) and were found to be better in comparison with the results obtained through the regular finite difference method and the 3-point central difference MOLs coupled with the RK(4,

Selection of Rice Genotypes for Salinity Tolerance Through Morpho-Biochemical Assessment

The present study reported the morpho-biochemical evaluation of 15 selected rice genotypes for salt tolerance at the seedling stage. Growth parameters including shoot length, root length, plant biomass, plant turgid weight, plant dry weight along with relative water content were measured after exposure to saline solution （with electrical conductivity value of 12 dS/m）. Genotypes, showing significant differential responses towards salinity in the fields, were assessed through 14 salinity-linked morpho-biochemical attributes, measured at 14 d after exposure of seedling in saline nutrient solution. Relative water content, chlorophyll a/b, peroxidase activity and plant biomass were identified as potential indicators of salt tolerance. Principal component analysis and successive Hierarchical clustering using Euclidean distance revealed that Talmugur, Gheus, Ghunsi, Langalmura, Sabitapalui, and Sholerpona were promising genotypes for further breeding programmes in rice. The maximum Euclidean distance was plotted between Thavallakanan and Talmugur （7.49）, followed by Thavallakanan and Langalmura （6.82）, indicating these combinations may be exploited as parental lines in hybridization programmes to develop salinity tolerant variety.

Effects of Hydromagnetic and Thermophoresis of Unsteady Forced Convection Boundary Layer Flow over Flat Plates

In this paper, we analyze unsteady two dimensional hydromagnetic forced convection boundary layer flow of a viscous incompressible fluid along flat plates with thermophoresis. The potential flow velocity has been taken as a function of the distance x and time t. The governing partial differential equations are transformed to ordinary differential equation by applying local similarity transformation. The resulting similarity equations are then solved numerically for unsteady case, applying Nachtsheim-Swigert shooting iteration technique with six order Runge-Kutta method. The variations in fluid velocity, fluid temperature and species concentration are displayed graphically and discussed for different material parameters entering into the analysis. The effects of the pertinent parameters on the skin-friction coefficient, wall heat transfer coefficient and wall deposition flux rate are also displayed in tabulated form and discussed them from the physical point of view. An analysis of the obtained results shows that the flow field is influenced appreciably by the magnetic field parameter and the thermophoresis particle deposition.

Critical Properties of the Two-Dimensional Villain Model with Ferromagnetic Impurities

This work investigates the square lattice in the presence of an-ti-ferromagnetic exchange considering the two-dimensional Ising Villain model. A computational scheme is constructed to evaluate the degeneracy of ground states at zero temperature employing the Pfaffian method through perturbation theory. The entropy and canonical spin glass of the considered model are precisely obtained. The critical point between the Villain phase and canonical spin glass phase with the line fit of entropy at the thermodynamic limit is investigated. It is also shown that the transition point of the Villain model lies in the low concentration regime.
