Laser ablation in liquid is a scalable nanoparticle production method with applications in areas like catalysis and *** to laser-liquid interactions,different energy dissipation channels such as absorption by the liquid and scattering at the ablation plume and cavitation bubble lead to reduced laser energy available for nanoparticle *** pulse durations cause unwanted nonlinear effects in the liquid,and for ns pulses,intra-pulse energy deposition attenuation effects are to be ***,intermediate pulse durations ranging from hundreds of picoseconds up to one nanosecond have rarely been studied in particular in single-pulse *** this study,we explore the pico-to nanosecond pulse duration regimes to find the pulse duration with the highest ablation *** find that pulse durations around 1-2 ns enable the most efficient laser ablation in liquid since the laser beam shielding by the ablation plume and cavitation bubble sets in only at longer pulse ***,pump-probe microscopy imaging reveals that the plume dynamics in liquids start to differ from plume dynamics in air at about 2 ns after pulse impact.

Laser additive manufacturing of Zn porous scaffolds: Shielding gas flow, surface quality and densification

Zn based metals have exhibited promising prospects as a structural material for biodegradable applications. Pure Zn porous scaffolds were produced by laser powder bed fusion(LPBF) based on data files of designing and CT scanning. Massive Zn evaporation during laser melting largely influenced the formation quality during LPBF of Zn metal. The metal vapor in processing chamber was blown off and suctioned out efficiently by an optimized gas circulation system. Numerical analysis was used to design and testify the performance of gas flow. The surface of scaffolds was covered with numerous particles in different sizes. Processing pores occurred near the outline contour of struts. The average grain size in width was8.5m, and the hardness was 43.8 HV. Chemical plus electrochemical polishing obtained uniform and smooth surface without processing pores, but the diameter of struts reduced to 250 αm from the design value 300 m. The poor surface quality and processing pores were resulted by the splashing particles included spatters and powders due to the recoil force of evaporation, and the horizontal movement of liquid metal due to overheating and wetting. The insufficient melting at the outline contour combined with good wetting of Zn liquid metal further increased the surface roughness and processing pores.

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the diverging expectations of customer groups in the hospitality industry based on loyalty towards a *** the aim to understand how these expectations and attitudes transform,this paper utilizes user-generated content from more than 5000 unique online reviews of 14 hotels around New York Times Square sourced from ***.A research framework proposes a direct positive relationship between the six independent variables(Cleanliness,Dining,Location,Service,Amenities,Value for the Money)assessed in the online reviews and the dependent variable ‘Total Score'.Furthermore,four levels of loyalty(No,Low,Medium,High)are assumed to be moderators of these *** research findings suggest that ‘Service' is the strongest predictor of the dependent variable,followed by ‘Value for the Money'.‘Dining' is the only factor that fails to moderate the ‘Total Score' for the customer groups with loyalty levels of Medium and ***,a content-based analysis supports the crucial findings revealed by the *** results of this paper emphasize the significance of loyalty and its impact on satisfaction while providing valuable suggestions to find strategies supporting the production of positive user-generated content and stimulating e-Word-of-Mouth.

Puqjose: Fractures of the humerus account for 5%—8% of all fractures. Non union is Found with an incidence of up to 15%, depending on the location of the fracture. In case of a manifest nonunion the surgeon faces a challenging problem and has to conceive a therapy based on the underlying pathology. The aim of this study was to describe our treatment concepts for this entity and present our results of the last five years. Methods: Twenty-six patients were treated for nonunion of the humerus between January 2013 and December 2017. Their charts were reviewed retrospectively and demographic data, pathology, surgical treatment and outcome were assessed. Results: The most frequent location for a nonunion was the humeral shaft, with the most common trauma mechanism being multiple falls. Most often atrophic nonunion (n = 14), followed by hypertrophic and infection-caused nonunion (each n = 4), were found. Our treatment concept could be applied in 19 patients, of which in 90% of those who were available for follow-up consolidation could be achieved. Conclusion: Humeral non union is a heterogeneous entity that has to be analyzed precisely and be treated correspondingly. We therefore present a treatment concept based on the underlying pathology.

Most species evolve within fluctuating environments, and have developed adaptations to meet the challenges posed by environmental heterogeneity. One such adaptation is phenotypic plasticity, or the ability of a single genotype to produce multiple environmentally-induced phenotypes. Yet, not all plasticity is adaptive. Despite the renewed interest in adaptive phenotypic plas- ticity and its consequences for evolution, much less is known about maladaptive plasticity. However, maladaptive plasticity is likely an important driver of phenotypic similarity among populations living in different environments. This paper traces four strategies for overcoming maladaptive plasticity that result in phenotypic similarity, two of which involve genetic changes （standing genetic variation, genetic compensation） and two of which do not （standing epigenetic variation, plastic compensation）. Plastic compensation is defined as adaptive plasticity overcoming maladaptive plasticity. In particular, plastic compensation may increase the likelihood of genetic compensation by facilitating population persistence. We provide key terms to disentangle these aspects of phenotypic plasticity and introduce examples to reinforce the potential importance of plastic compensation for under- standing evolutionary change

Field observations were carried out between 2002 and 2005 on bio-ecology of white grubs infesting teak （Tectona grandis Linn. f.） seedlings at Ramdongari Forest Nursery, Forest Development Corporation of Maharashtra, Nagpur in central India. The study collected the data required for an integrated pest management strategy against the white grubs. The species damaging teak seedlings were Holotrichia rustica （Burmeister） and H. mucida Gyllenhal. The beetles （adults） of both these species began to emerge just after the pre-monsoon showers and when the relative humidity had risen rapidly over several days, but before the first monsoon rains. While the adults fed and mated on naturally growing bushes of Ziziphus jujuba, Z mauritiana, Z. xylopyra, Acacia leucophloea and A. catechu immediately after the emergence from the teak beds in the nursery, the immature stages （grubs） of both species fed on roots of the teak seedling, leading to plant death. This is the first report of （i） damage caused to teak seedlings by grubs ofH. rustica and H. mucida, and （ii） of *** and Z. mauritiana being hosts for the beetles ofH. mucida and H, rustica. It is also the first detailed report on the field bio-ecology of the H. rustica and H. mucida as major pests ofteak. White grubs are among the toughest-to-manage pests of economic importance and information presented here on the pest incidence and damage ofH. rustica and H. mucida is important to researchers and nursery field managers for the management of these pests on teak.
