Characterizing natural fractures has a decisive effect on production forecasts in fractured oil and gas reservoirs. Discrete Fracture Networks(DFN) constitutes the main modeling framework for fractured geosystems. However, myriads of uncertainties are enclosed prior modeling representative stochastic or deterministic DFN ensembles. This paper presents a novel methodology for DFN calibration and an efficacious field application, which incorporates Well-testing interpretation, Embedded Discrete Fracture Model(EDFM) framework, and numerical reservoir simulation. The proposed workflow starts with the DFN generation from seismic data, imaging logging data and core data. After multiple DFNs are modeled,well-test analysis is employed to calibrate the intrinsic properties of fractures at different locations. Then,these fracture networks are characterized dynamically by EDFM, which promotes capturing the optimal fracture model quickly screened. Finally, pressure and production history match are reached for the DFN realization that honors the optimal fracture model.

使用嵌入式离散裂缝建模(EDFM)方法优化具有复杂裂缝系统的油藏的数值模拟,完善了前人的Eagle Ford页岩油综合描述技术。根据裂缝支撑类型对具有100000多个裂缝面的复杂裂缝系统进行分类后,对井底流压进行了历史拟合,对油田产量进行了预测,以更深入地了解复杂裂缝支撑效果对产量的影响。在为不同支撑类型裂缝组分配不同的压实曲线后估算的压降表明,如果采用EDFM方法而不是非结构网格方法进行裂缝建模和筛选,裂缝模型表达更精确,有效波及面积可能会小于非结构网格方法。方法优化后,能够将EDFM与第三方裂缝扩展模拟器自动耦合,同时考虑支撑剂强度沿复杂裂缝系统的变化。该方法能够从裂缝评价和多个全井眼的拟三维裂缝扩展结果中准确地模拟复杂的裂缝延伸和井间干扰,从而更准确地评价完井效果。

Various methods and specialized software programs are available for processing two- dimensional gel electrophoresis （2-DGE） images. However, due to the anomalies present in these images, a reliable, automated, and highly reproducible system for 2-DGE image analysis has still not been achieved. The most common anomalies found in 2-DGE images include vertical and hor- izontal streaking, fuzzy spots, and background noise, which greatly complicate computational anal- ysis. In this paper, we review the preprocessing techniques applied to 2-DGE images for noise reduction, intensity normalization, and background correction. We also present a quantitative comparison of non-linear filtering techniques applied to synthetic gel images, through analyzing the performance of the filters under specific conditions. Synthetic proteins were modeled into a two-dimensional Gaussian distribution with adjustable parameters for changing the size, intensity, and degradation. Three types of noise were added to the images： Gaussian, Rayleigh, and exponen- tial, with signal-to-noise ratios （SNRs） ranging 8-20 decibels （dB）. We compared the performanceof wavelet, contourlet, total variation （TV）, and wavelet-total variation （WTTV） techniques using parameters SNR and spot efficiency. In terms of spot efficiency, contourlet and TV were more sen- sitive to noise than wavelet and WTTV. Wavelet worked the best for images with SNR ranging 10- 20 dB, whereas WTTV performed better with high noise levels. Wavelet also presented the best per- formance with any level of Gaussian noise and low levels （20-14 dB） of Rayleigh and exponential noise in terms of SNR. Finally, the performance of the non-linear filtering techniques was evaluated using a real 2-DGE image with previously identified proteins marked. Wavelet achieved the best detection rate for the real image.

The risk-sensitive filtering design problem with respect to the exponential mean-square cost criterion is con-sidered for stochastic Gaussian systems with polynomial of second and third degree drift terms and intensity parameters multiplying diffusion terms in the state and observations equations. The closed-form optimal fil-tering equations are obtained using quadratic value functions as solutions to the corresponding Focker- Plank-Kolmogorov equation. The performance of the obtained risk-sensitive filtering equations for stochastic polynomial systems of second and third degree is verified in a numerical example against the optimal po-lynomial filtering equations (and extended Kalman-Bucy for system polynomial of second degree), through comparing the exponential mean-square cost criterion values. The simulation results reveal strong advan-tages in favor of the designed risk-sensitive equations for some values of the intensity parameters.

Diet composition and its ecological drivers are rarely investigated in coexisting closely related *** used a molecular approach to characterize the seasonal variation in diet composition in four spiny lizard species inhabiting a mountainous *** metabarcoding revealed that the lizards Sceloporus aeneus,***,***,and *** mostly consumed arthropods of the orders Hemiptera,Araneae,Hymenoptera,and *** terrestrial lizards *** and *** mostly predated ants and spiders,whereas the arboreal–saxicolous *** and saxicolous *** largely consumed grasshoppers and *** taxonomic and phylogenetic diversity of the prey was higher during the dry season than the rainy season,likely because reduced prey availability in the dry season forced lizards to diversify their diets to meet their nutritional *** and phylogenetic composition varied seasonally depending on the species,but only dietary composition varied with *** dietary turnover was greater in *** than in ***,suggesting site-specific seasonal variability in prey availability;no other differences among species were ***,which lives at the highest altitude in our study site,displayed interseasonal variation in diet *** differences were correlated with the species’feeding strategies and elevational distribution,which likely contributed to the coexistence of these lizard species in the studied geographic area and beyond.

This article is about the methods and techniques used in the building ＂retrofit＂ in modernist style designed by the architect Affonso Eduardo Reidy in the fifties, and also about the project of the new Rio de Janeiro MIS （Museum of Image and Sound）, under construction, by The North-American office Diller Scofidio ＋ Renfro, both located in the city of Rio de Janeiro. These constructions present a wide view of the concept of sustainability, not commonly used in public buildings in Brazil. In the building designed by Reidy, which belongs to the State of Rio de Janeiro, the regeneration to host the new headquarters of the State Department of Taxation and Finance respected its original characteristics and used smart and sustainable design techniques, as well as recyclable materials. On the other hand, the project of the new museum at Copacabana Beach was entirely planned on sustainable bases and it includes the application of building techniques concerning that purpose. This article presents a study of these two cases and evaluates the techniques and materials used in one another. Observing the principles of sustainability in construction is a pioneering initiative of the State Government. This article aims at making the scientific community aware of the needs of immediate adoption of sustainability techniques in Civil Engineering, not only in the construction of new buildings, but also in the regeneration of the existing ones, as well as the need of imperious adoption of sustainable techniques when it comes to maintainability.

Over the last two decades,there has been increasing interest in new techniques for the percutaneous treatment of coronary chronic total occlusions(CTO),which have a success rate that is much higher than that of a few years *** rise in percutaneous treatment for these lesions is due to its ability to improve the symptoms and prognosis of patients in the chronic and stable phase of coronary *** data suggest that successful percutaneous coronary intervention for CTO is associated with improvement in patient symptoms,quality of life,left ventricular function,and survival,compared with those with unsuccessful CTO ***,all the scientific evidence supporting this treatment comes from observational studies,and no randomized study comparing percutaneous treatment with medical treatment has yet been published.A major limitation of these studies is their observational design,with limited information with regard to potential baseline differences between the successful vs unsuccessful *** randomized studies,patients should be selected very carefully,especially if they are asymptomatic or very few symptoms,and the benefits obtained in terms of complications during the procedure,the quality of life obtained and further ischemic events avoided should be evaluated *** this review,we will consider the available information supporting percutaneous treatment for chronic occlusions,as well as the areas of uncertainty where more research projects are required.
