Understanding and controlling the self-assembly of vertically oriented carbon nanotube(CNT)forests is essential for realizing their potential in myriad *** governing process–structure–property mechanisms are poorly understood,and the processing parameter space is far too vast to exhaustively explore *** overcome these limitations by using a physics-based simulation as a high-throughput virtual laboratory and image-based machine learning to relate CNT forest synthesis attributes to their mechanical *** CNTNet,our image-based deep learning classifier module trained with synthetic imagery,combinations of CNT diameter,density,and population growth rate classes were labeled with an accuracy of>91%.The CNTNet regression module predicted CNT forest stiffness and buckling load properties with a lower root-mean-square error than that of a regression predictor based on CNT physical *** results demonstrate that image-based machine learning trained using only simulated imagery can distinguish subtle CNT forest morphological features to predict physical material properties with high *** paves the way to incorporate scanning electron microscope imagery for high-throughput material discovery.

Accurate determination of rock mass properties is a critical part of open-pit mine planning activities to enable more prescriptive blast designs to achieve improved loading and hauling and downstream process efficiency. Better and more accurate blast practice that delivers enhanced outcomes(better fragmentation, improved diggability, less dilution, etc.) is a critical and fundamental element of being able to achieve an effective Mine-Mill approach at a mining operation. Based on previous work, it has been demonstrated that an accurate representation of the rock mass properties can be obtained from the analysis of variations in blasthole drill performance as derived from measurement while drilling(MWD) systems when using tricone bits. This paper further investigates how monitored rate of penetration,pulldown force, rotary torque, rotary speed and bailing air pressure responses can be used to determine the presence of open and partially open fractures having varying dip angles. Based on a correlation of geophysically measured fracture logs and monitored drill performance variables in the same blastholes, the results show that the latter responses can accurately determine open versus closed fractures. The results also identified that variations in rate of penetration and rotary torque show the most sensitivity in the presence of open fractures that intersect a vertical blasthole at near orthogonal angles.

AIM: To assess the outcomes of men treated for urolithiasis at the time of radical ***: From 1991 to 2010, 22 patients were retrospectively identified who were treated simultaneously(n = 10) at radical prostatectomy, or(n = 12) within 120 d prior to prostatectomy, for urolithiasis. Clinical characteristics were reviewed including: type of prostatectomy and stone surgery, location and amount of stone burden, perioperative change in hemoglobin and creatinine, stent frequency, total hospital d, stone-free rates, additional stone procedures and complications. Long-term functional outcomes including stress urinary incontinence and bladder neck contracture were reported. Differences between cohorts(simultaneous vs staged treatment) were assessed. rESULTS: Among men undergoing radical prostatectomy, primary stone procedures included 12 ureteroscopy, 6 shock wave lithotripsy, 2 open nephrolithotomyand 2 percutaneous nephrolithotomy. In staged shock wave lithotripsy there were 4 complications and 3 additional procedures vs 1(P = 0.5) and 0(P = 0.2) in the simultaneous cohort. Meanwhile in staged ureteroscopy there were 5 complications and 1 additional procedure vs 1(P = 0.2) and 1(P = 0.9) in the simultaneous cohort. Additional procedures for residual stones was greater among patients with asymptomatic upper tract calculi 3(60%) relative to patients with symptomatic stones 2(13%; P = 0.02). Likewise, patients with proximal or multiple calculi had a greater total hospital days 5.5 vs 4.1(P = 0.04), additional procedures 6 vs 0(P = 0.04) and lower stone-free rates 39% vs 89%(P = 0.02) relative to men with distal stones. Finally, there was no difference in the incidence of bladder neck contracture(P = 0.4) or stress urinary incontinence(P = 0.7) between ***: Ureteroscopic treatment of symptomatic distal urolithiasis at radical prostatectomy appears to be safe and efficacious with a low rate of adverse postoperative outcomes.

This paper presents and analyzes a monotone domain decomposition algorithm for solving nonlinear singularly perturbed reaction-diffusion problems of parabolic type. To solve the nonlinear weighted average finite difference scheme for the partial differential equation, we construct a monotone domain decomposition algorithm based on a Schwarz alternating method and a box-domain decomposition. This algorithm needs only to solve linear discrete systems at each iterative step and converges monotonically to the exact solution of the nonlinear discrete problem. domain decomposition algorithm is estimated The rate of convergence of the monotone Numerical experiments are presented.
