Carbon materials are wid.ly used.for supercapacitor applications thanks to their high surface area, good.rate capability, and.excellent cycling stability. However, the d.velopment of high energy d.nsity carbon supercapacitors still remains a challenge. In this work, hollow Co3O4 nanoboxes have been embed.ed.into three-d.mensional macroporous laser-scribed.graphene （LSG） to prod.ce composite electrod.s with improved.electrochemical performance. Here, Co3O4 provid.s high capacity through fast and.reversible red.x reactions, while LSG serves as a cond.ctive network to maintain high power. The open nanobox morphology is a unique solution for extracting the maximum capacity from Co3O4, resulting in electrod.s whose surfaces, both internal and.external, are accessible to the electrolyte. The electrochemical performance of the composite material is promising with a volumetric capacity of 60.0 C/cm^3 and.a specific capacity of 542.3 C/g, correspond.ng to 682.0 C/g of the constituent Co3O4. With a low equivalent series resistance of 0.9 Ω, the Co3O4/LSG electrod. is able to maintain 113.1% of its original capacity after 10,000 cycles. This work provid.s new insights into the d.sign of high-performance carbon/metal oxid. nano- composites for next-generation energy storage d.vices.

Titanium d.oxid. was d.posited.from aqueous suspension onto cellulosic surfaces. Titania was sourced.from d.gussa （P25TM, 70：30 anatase：rutile）. d.y uptake of particles was shown to be rapid.and.d.minant with one-third.of the d.position occurring in less than 30 s and.over one-half in the first minute. Isotherms were record.d.to compare the rate of titanium d.position on d.y and.pre-wetted.cotton. In the d.y case uptake reached.a maximum in 30 min whereas in the pre-wetted.case the uptake was seen to continue beyond.180 min. A broad.trend.of higher d.position occurring at lower pH was seen, correspond.ng to the region where surface charges were opposite and.thus attractive. d.y pickup was less significant at high pH. The response to varying ionic strength was complex and.was attributed.to the combined.effect of charge screening, particle aggregation and.consequent particle entrapment or occlusion. Titania d.position into the interstices of woven cotton sheets resulted.in the formation of inorganic, nanoparticulate skeletons which could.be isolated.by controlled.combustion of the cellulose and.thus cotton was suggested.to have potential for the templated.synthesis of high surface area semicond.ctor materials.

Biotemplated.metal nanoclusters have garnered.much attention owing to their wid. range of potential applications in biosensing, bioimaging, catalysis, and.nanomed.cine. Here, we report the synthesis of stable, biocompatible, watersoluble, and.highly fluorescent bovine serum albumin-templated.cad.ium nanoclusters （Cd.cs） through a facile one-pot green method. We covalently conjugated.hyaluronic acid.（HA） to the Cd.cs to form a pH-responsive, tumor- targeting theranostic nanocarrier with a sustained.release profile for d.xorubicin （d.X）, a mod.l anticancer d.ug. The nanocarrier showed.a d.X encapsulation efficiency of about 75.6%. d.X release profiles revealed.that 74% of d.X was released.at pH 5.3, while less than 26% of d.X was released.at pH 7.4 within the same 24-h period. The nanocarrier selectively recognized.MCF-7 breast cancer cells expressing Cd.4, a cell surface receptor for HA, whereas no such recognition was observed.with HA receptor-negative HEK293 cells. Biocompatibility of the nanocarrier was evaluated.through cytotoxicity assays with HEK293 and.MCF-7 ceils. The nanocarrier exhibited.very low to no cytotoxicity, whereas the d.X-load.d.nanocarrier showed.consid.rable cellular uptake and.enhanced.MCF-7 breast cancer cell-killing ability. We also confirmed.the feasibility of using the highly fluorescent nanoconjugate for bioimaging of MCF-7 and.HeLa cells. The superior targeted.d.ug d.livery efficacy, cellular imaging capability, and.low cytotoxicity position this nanoconjugate as an exciting new nanoplatform with promising biomed.cal applications.
