Intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm(IPmN) is a mucin-producing epithelial neoplasm that carries a risk of progression to invasive pancreatic ductal *** syndrome is an autosomal dominant condition caused by germline mutations in mismatch repair genes such as mSH2 that lead to microsatellite instability and increased risk of tumor *** families with Lynch syndrome have an increased risk of pancreatic cancer, a clear connection between Lynch syndrome and IPmN has not been *** present a report of a 58 year-old Caucasian woman with multiple cancers and a germline mutation of mSH2 consistent with Lynch syndrome.A screening abdominal computed tomography scan revealed a dilated main pancreatic duct and cystic ductular structure in the uncinate process that were consistent with IPmN of the main pancreatic duct on *** and polymerase chain reaction of the patient's pancreas specimen did not reveal microsatellite instability or mismatch repair gene loss of expression or *** findings may be explained by the fact that loss of mismatch repair function and microsatellite instability is a late event in neoplastic *** the relative rarity of main duct IPmN, its appearance in the setting of somatic mSH2 mutation suggests that IPmN may fit into the constellation of Lynch syndrome related malignancies.

Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) is the most rapidly increasing type of cancer in the United States. HCC is a highly malignant cancer, accounting for at least 14000 deaths in the United States annually, and it ranks third as a cause of cancer mortality in men. One major difficulty is that most patients with HCC are diagnosed when the disease is already at an advanced stage, and the cancer cannot be surgically removed. Furthermore, because almost all patients have cirrhosis, neither chemotherapy nor major resections are well tolerated. Clearly there is need of a multidisciplinary approach for the management of HCC. For example, there is a need for better understanding of the fundamental etiologic mechanisms that are involved in hepatocarcinogenesis, which could lead to the development of successful preventive and therapeutic modalities. It is also essential to define the cellular and molecular bases for malignant transformation of hepatocytes. Such knowledge would:(1) greatly facilitate the identification of patients at risk;(2) prompt efforts to decrease risk factors; and(3) improve surveillance and early diagnosis through diagnostic imaging modalities. Possible benefits extend also to the clinical management of this disease. Because there are many factors involved in pathogenesis of HCC,this paper reviews a multidisciplinary perspective of recent advances in basic and clinical understanding of HCC that include: molecular hepatocarcinogenesis, noninvasive diagnostics modalities, diagnostic pathology, surgical modality, transplantation, local therapy and oncological/target therapeutics.

Let G be a simple graph. Define R(G) to be the graph obtained from G by adding a new vertex e* corresponding to each edge e = (a, b) of G and by joining each new vertex e* to the end vertices a and b of the edge e corresponding to it. In this paper, we prove that the number of matchings of R(G) is completely determined by the degree sequence of vertices of G.

An investigation on the possible dynamical models of the core galaxy NGC 1399 is *** early-type galaxies are likely to be formed through merging events, remnant rings are considered in the modeling process.A numerical survey over three parameters is employed to obtain the best-fit models that are completely consistent with *** is found that the inner slope of the dark matter profile is cuspy for this core *** existence of remnant rings in best-fit models indicates a merging *** remnant ring explains the flattened surface brightness and thus could be the physical counterpart of the core structure of NGC 1399.

In this paper, a bivariate generating function CF(x, y) =f(x)-yf(xy)1-yis investigated, where f(x)= n 0fnxnis a generating function satisfying the functional equation f(x) = 1 + r j=1 m i=j-1aij xif(x)*** particular, we study lattice paths in which their end points are on the line y = 1. Rooted lattice paths are defined. It is proved that the function CF(x, y) is a generating function defined on some rooted lattice paths with end point on y = 1. So, by a simple and unified method, from the view of lattice paths, we obtain two combinatorial interpretations of this bivariate function and derive two uniform partitions on these rooted lattice paths.

This paper is to explore further results for total measurable fault information-based residual（TomFIR） approach to fault detection in dynamic *** TomFIR contains the essential fault information and remains unaffected by control actions in a closed-loop *** is composed of controller residual and output residual and some of further results are developed in frequency *** the ability of detecting actuator and sensor faults,it is able to detect faults/failures resulting from the computer used for control purpose that generates control ***,all of existing fault detection schemes cannot achieve the same task at all.A practical DC motor example,with a PID controller,is used to demonstrate the effectiveness of the TomFIR-based fault detection.A comparison with the standard observer-based technique is also provided.

This study is using HmDSA (C6H19NSi2) or HmDSO (C6H18OSi2) vapor into C3H8/air premixed flames to form SiO2 thin film on the surface of an aluminum plate. With the addition of HmDSO or HmDSA to premixed flames, an orange secondary flame or a flame brush appeared and was contributed to the formation of Sio2 particles. Based upon the EDS, XPS and FTIR analysis, it is believed that the synthesized products consist of mainly SiO2 and a small amount of SiO. The pure SiO2 crystal structure, was proved by XRD analysis, which may form from the SiO2 amorphous structure after high temperature (1300C) thermal treatment. The nano-size SiO2 particles, which ranged from 2.5-25 nm, are proved by analysis of the BET and TEm. A 2-D CFD-RC code with 12 reduced chemical reaction mechanism, based upon the SImPLER procedure, was successfully employed to predict the flame temperature and both of the SiO2 and SiO concentration profiles. Compared with the experimental results, the calculated temperature profiles in the post-flame region are in good agreement with the measured data and observation phenomena.
