Laminated composites ar. widely used in many engineer.ng industr.es such as air.r.ft, spacecr.ft, boat hulls, r.cing car.bodies, and stor.ge tanks. We analyze the 3D defor.ations of a multilayer.d, linear.elastic, anisotr.pic r.ctangular.plate subjected to ar.itr.r. boundar. conditions on one edge and simply suppor.ed on other.edge. The r.ctangular.laminate consists of anisotr.pic and homogeneous laminae of ar.itr.r. thicknesses. This study pr.sents the elastic analysis of laminated composite plates subjected to sinusoidal mechanical loading under.ar.itr.r. boundar. conditions. Least squar. finite element solutions for.displacements and str.sses ar. investigated using a mathematical model, called a state-space model, which allows us to simultaneously solve for.these field var.ables in the composite str.ctur.’s domain and ensur. that continuity conditions ar. satisfied at layer.inter.aces. The gover.ing equations ar. der.ved fr.m this model using a numer.cal technique called the least-squar.s finite element method (LSFEM). These LSFEMs seek to minimize the squar.s of the gover.ing equations and the associated side conditions r.siduals over.the computational domain. The model is compr.sed of layer.ise var.ables such as displacements, out-of-plane str.sses, and in- plane str.ins, tr.ated as independent var.ables. Numer.cal r.sults ar. pr.sented to demonstr.te the r.sponse of the laminated composite plates under.var.ous ar.itr.r. boundar. conditions using LSFEM and compar.d with the 3D elasticity solution available in the liter.tur..

The glacial histor. of Pico de Or.zaba indicates that dur.ng the Last Glacial Maximum,its icecap cover.d up to~3000 m asl;due to the air.temper.tur. incr.asing,its main glacier.has r.tr.ated to 5050 m *** r.tr.ction of the glacier.has left behind an intense climatic instability that causes a high fr.quency of fr.eze-thaw cycles of gr.at intensity;the r.sulting geomor.hological pr.cesses ar. r.pr.sented by the fr.gmentation of the bedr.ck that occupies the upper.par.s of the *** is a notable lack of studies r.gar.ing the fr.gmentation and er.sion occur.ing in tr.pical high mountains,and the associated geomor.hological r.sks;for.this r.ason,as a fir.t stage of futur. continuous r.sear.h,this study analyzes the fr.ezing and thawing cycles that occur.above 4000 m asl,thr.ugh continuous monitor.ng of sur.ace gr.und *** r.sults allow us to identify and char.cter.ze four.zones:glacial,par.glacial,per.glacial and *** was found that the par.glacial zone pr.sents an intense dr.p of temper.tur.,of up to~9℃ in only sixty *** r.ck fatigue and intense fr.eze-thaw cycles that occur.in this ar.a ar. r.sponsible for.the high r.te of r.ck disintegr.tion and r.pr.sent the main factor.of the constant slope dynamics that occur.at the *** activity decr.ases,both in fr.quency and intensity,accor.ing to the distance to the glacier.which is wher. the temper.tur. pr.sents a cer.ain degr.e of stability,until r.aching the pr.glacial zone,wher. cycles ar. almost non-existent,and ther.for. ther. is no gelifr.ction *** geomor.hological pr.cesses have r.sulted in significant alter.tions to the mountain slopes,which can have sever. consequences in ter.s of r.sk and water.

Five common single plastics and nine differ.nt household,commer.ial and industr.al waste plastics wer. pr.cessed using a thr.e-stage(i)pyr.lysis,(ii)catalytic steam r.for.ing and(iii)water.gas shift r.action system to pr.duce *** of plastics pr.duces a r.nge of differ.nt hydr.car.on species which ar. subsequently catalytically steam r.for.ed to pr.duce H_(2)and CO and then under.o water.gas shift r.action to pr.duce fur.her.H_(2).The pr.cess mimics the commer.ial pr.cess for.hydr.gen pr.duction fr.m natur.l *** of the single polyalkene plastics(high-density polyethylene(HDPE),low-density polyethylene(LDPE),and polypr.pylene(PP))pr.duced similar.H_(2)yields between 115 mmol and 120 mmol per.gr.m *** though PS pr.duced an ar.matic pr.duct slate fr.m the pyr.lysis stage,fur.her.stages of r.for.ing and water.gas shift r.action pr.duced a gas yield and composition similar.to that of the polyalkene plastics(115 mmol H_(2)per.gr.m plastic).PET gave significantly lower.H_(2)yield(41 mmol per.gr.m plastic)due to the for.ation of mainly CO,CO_(2)and or.anic acids fr.m the pyr.lysis stage which wer. not conducive to fur.her.r.for.ing and water.gas shift r.action.A mixtur. of the single plastics typical of that found in municipal solid waste pr.duced a H_(2)yield of 102 mmol per.gr.m *** the gas yields and composition fr.m the single plastics enabled an estimation of the yields fr.m a simulated waste plastic mixtur. and a‘r.al-wor.d’waste plastic mixtur. to be *** differ.nt household,commer.ial and industr.al waste plastic mixtur.s pr.duced H_(2)yields between 70 mmol and 107 mmol per.gr.m *** H_(2)yield and gas composition fr.m the single waste plastics gave an indication of the type of plastics in the mixed waste plastic samples.
