The steady three-dimensional problem of condensation film on an inclined rotating disk is illustrated in this study. The governing non-linear partial differential equations are reduced to the nonlinear ordinary differential equations system by similarity transform. The analytical solution applied to solve this system is the Akbari-Ganji's method (AGM). The velocity and temperature profiles are shown and the influence of Prandtl number and rotation ratio on the flow field, heat transfer and the Nusselt number are discussed in detail. The validity of our solutions is verified by the numerical results.

In this study, the biocompatible protective coating was formed using plasma electrolytic oxidation(PEO) on bioresorbable Mg-0.8Ca alloy. The composition of the formed coating was studied using XRD, sEM-EDX analysis, and micro-Raman spectroscopy. The uniform distribution of hydroxyapatite over the thickness of protective PEO-layer was established. Using traditional(EIs, PDP, OCP) and local scanning electrochemical methods(sVET, sIET with H^(+)-selective microelectrode), the level of protective properties of PEO-layer in a biological environment(mammalian cell culture medium, MEM) was determined. It was established that modification of Mg-0.8Ca alloy surface by PEO contributes to a significant increase in the corrosion resistance of the surface layer, making it possible to control the process of material‘s biodegradation. The maximum local electrochemical activity was recorded after 72 h of testing, while for the uncoated sample,intense corrosion degradation was recorded in the first 12 min of exposure to the cell culture medium. Formation of the PEO-coating results in a twofold decrease in the corrosion current density(2.8·10^(-6)A cm^(-2)) and an increase in the impedance modulus measured at a low frequency(1.7·10^(4)Ω cm^(2)) in comparison with the uncoated material(9.5·10^(-6)A cm^(-2);8.1·10^(3)Ω cm^(2)). The mechanism of material bioresorption was established and a model for biodegradation process of Mg-0.8Ca alloy with hydroxyapatite-containing PEO-coating in MEM was proposed. Analysis of these results and comparing with others obtained by various scientific groups indicate the prospects for application of biocompatible PEO-coating on Mg-Ca alloy in implant surgery.

AIM: To study the genotype phenotype correlation in Wilson's disease (WD) patients within families. METHODs: We report four unrelated families from south India with nine members affected with WD. Phenotype was classified as per international consensus phenotypic classifi cation of WD. DNA was extracted from peripheral blood and 21 exons of ATP7B gene and flanking introns were amplified by polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The PCR products were screened for mutations and the aberrant products noted on screening were sequenced. REsULTs: Four separate ATP7B mutations were found in the four families. ATP7B mutations were identical amongst affected members within each family. Three families had homozygous mutations of ATP7B gene while one family had compound heterozygous mutation, of which only one mutation was identifi ed. We noted concordance between ATP7B gene mutation and Wilson's disease phenotype amongst members within each family. The age of onset of symptoms or of detection of asymptomatic disease, baseline serum ceruloplasmin and baseline urinary copper levels were also similar in affected members of each family. Minor differences in phenotype and baseline serum ceruloplasmin level were noted in one ***: We report concordance between ATP7B mutation and WD phenotype within each family with > 1 member affected with WD. Homozygous ATP7B mutation was present in 3 of the 4 families studied. Our report supports allelic dominance as a determinant of WD phenotype. However, in one family with compound heterozygous mutation, there was a similar WD phenotype which suggests that there may be other factors determining the phenotype.

A rare case of bilateral scleromalacia perforans, bilateral peripheral corneal thinning (contact lens cornea) and unilateral orbital inflammatory disease in a 50 year old female patient with an indolent form Wegener's granulomatosis(WG) involving lungs and sinuses is reported. The patient survived for 12 years after the initial diagnosis of systemic disease. There was perforation of left globe following trauma and no perforation of the right globe till the last follow up of the patient.

We developed a simple and inexpensive synthesis of a large-scale close-packed monolayer of polystyrene sphere arrays, which have a variety of applications. The influence of three step spin speeds, spinning time, solution quantity and relative humidity is studied in order to achieve a large area close-packed monolayer. A relatively high surface coverage and uniform monolayer of Ps spheres in the range of 85%-90% are achieved by appropriate control of the preparative parameters. Also the effect of the oxygen plasma etching process on the reduction of Ps spheres has been studied. We conclude that it can be useful in industrial applications, because of the fabrication speed, surface coverage, control over Ps spheres and cost of the process.

The AVO inversion analysis of pre-stack seismic data of“XY”field located within the offshore,Niger Delta Basin has been considered in this research work with the aim of using AVO inversion to delineate gas reservoirs within the *** different inversion techniques are carried out in order to obtain accurate reservoir *** conventional AVO inversion analysis of the field do not identify the gas reservoirs clearly as there are other zones without gas with similar signatures,however,the cross-plots analysis of elastic parameters and the inverted volumes are used to delineate two gas reservoirs at 2000 and 2100 ***,the inversion techniques help to map the reservoir zone in a better way by increasing the vertical *** inversion analysis as used in this research help for better understanding of the physical properties of the delineated reservoirs.
