Employing Diversity and Similarity Indices to Evaluate Geopedological Soil Mapping in Miyaneh, East Azerbaijan Province, Iran

The geopedological viewpoint attempts to distinguish and introduce the smallest map unit that has the highest levels of homogeneity and uniformity with respect to landform, lithology, and soil, especially if the relationship between geomorphology and soils in the region is well defined. This research intended to investigate the degree of validity generalization of results obtained in the geopedology approach for similar landforms in the Miayneh region of East Azerbaijan Province, Iran. For this purpose, soil diversity study was conducted through measuring it in a hierarchical sequence in categories of USDA soil taxonomy and by comparing similar units in the geopedological method through employing pedodiversity and similarity indices. After preparing the initial interpretative map (based on aerial photographs) at a scale of 1:20,000, the HPu211 unit that covered the greatest delineation of study area was selected and 28 soil profiles, about 90 meters apart, were excavated, described, and sampled in this unit. The degree of validity generalization of geopedological results for the mentioned unit was determined by digging 14 other soil profiles in a similar unit, called the validation area, which was located outside of the sample area. Results indicated that the value of Shannon’s diversity index increased from the level of soil order to soil family in both the sample and the generalization areas;however, only at the soil family level were there significant differences between soil diversity in the two areas at the confidence level of 95%. As well as classification of the profiles dug in the generalization area was different from that of the profiles dug in the sample area at the category of soil family. Therefore, it is possible that management generalizability in this method, even at the detailed scale, can satisfy the related needs. Consequently, interpretative or managerial purity of geopedological units must be considered in future research.

The Relationship Between Military Expenditure and Economic Growth in Four Asian Countries

In this study, we use the ARDL bounds testing procedure suggested by Pesaran （2001） and modified version of the Granger causality test proposed by Toda and Yamamoto （1995） to test the robustness of the causality effect between military expenditure and economic growth in 4 Asian countries, two industrial countries （South Korea and Malaysia）, and others are developing countries （Iran and Saudi Arabia）, from 1988 to 2006 years, data series obtained from word development indicator （WDI）. With respect to that military expenditure can affect economic growth so increase in GDP can increase or decrease military expenditure, too. We investigate the causality relationship between military expenditure and economic growth because the purpose of military expenditures is to provide national security. The results show that Iran and Saudi Arabia don＇t have any causality relationship between military expenditure and economic growth. The results of South Korea show a unidirectional relationship from LGDP （Logarithm of real GDP） and LGDPK （logarithm of real GDP per capita） to military expenditure, and in Malaysia there is unidirectional relationship from LGDPK to military expenditure. The comparison of these results, we can say that developing countries don＇t have meaningful relationship between military expenditure and economic growth, but we can find unidirectional or bidirectional relationship between military expenditure and economic growth in industrial countries.

Stromal vascular fraction combined with silicone rubber chamber improves sciatic nerve regeneration in diabetes

Purpose： To study the effects of transplantation of characterized uncultured stromal vascular fraction （SVF） on sciatic nerve regeneration. Methods： A 10-mm sciatic nerve defect was bridged using a silicone conduit filled with SVF. In control group, silicone conduit was filled with phosphate-buffered saline alone. In sham-operated group, the sciatic nerve was only exposed and manipulated. The regenerated nerve fibers were studied 8 and 12 weeks after surgery. Results： Behavioral and functional studies confirmed faster recovery of regenerated axons in SVF transplanted animals than in control group （p 〈 0.05）. Gastrocnemius muscle mass in SVF transplanted animal was found to be significantly more than that in control group. Morphometric indices of the re- generated fibers showed the number and diameter of the myelinated fibers to be significantly higher in SVF transplanted animals than in control group. In immunohistochemistry, the location of reactions to S- 100 in SVF transplanted animals was clearly more positive than that in control group. Conclusion： SVF transplantation combined with silicone conduit could be considered as a readily accessible source of stromal cells that improves functional recovery of sciatic nerve. It may have clinical implications for the surgical management of acute diabetic patients after facial nerve transection.

Pentoxifylline in hepatopulmonary syndrome

AIM： To determine the effects of pentoxifylline （PTX） on clinical manifestations and evaluate arterial blood gas data in hepatopulmonary syndrome （HPS） in chil- dren. METHODS： In a pilot study of 10 children with chronic liver disease, who had HPS, 20 mg/kg/d PTX was ad- ministered for 3 mo. Clinical data and arterial blood gas parameters were evaluated at baseline, the end of the treatment period, and 3 mo after drug discontinuation. RESULTS： Six patients could tolerate PTX, while four patients experienced complications, Among patients who could tolerate PTX, there was a significant increase in arterial oxygen pressure （PaO2）（P = 0,02） and oxy- gen saturation （Sa02）（P = 0.04） and alveolar-arterial oxygen gradient （P = 0.02） after 3 mo of treatment. Significant decreases in Pa02 （P = 0.02） and alveolararterial oxygen gradient （P = 0.02） were also seen after drug discontinuation. CONCLUSION： PTX may improve PaO2, Sa02 and alve- olar-arterial oxygen gradient in the early stage of HPS.

Hippo Tumor Suppressor Pathway is the main pathway for cell growth that regulates tissue enlargement and organ size by limiting cell *** pathway is activated in response to cell cycle arrest signals(cell polarity,transduction,and DNA damage)and limited by growth factors or mitogens associated with EGF and *** major pathway consists of the central kinase of Ste20 MAPK(Saccharomyces cerevisiae),Hpo(Drosophila melanogaster)or MST kinases(mammalian)that activates the mammalian AGC kinase dmWts or LATS effector(MST and LATS).YAP in the nucleus work as a cofactor for a wide range of transcription factors involved in proliferation(TEA domain family,TEAD1-4),stem cells(Oct4 mononuclear factor and SMAD-related TGFb effector),differentiation(RUNX1),and Cell cycle/apoptosis control(p53,p63,and p73 family members).This is due to the diverse roles of YAP and may limit tumor progression and *** also coordinates various signal transduction pathways such as Hippo,WNT,TGFb and EGFR,and effects on lack of regulation of TEAD cancerous genes,such as KRAS,BRAF,LKB1,NF2 and MYC,which play essential roles in tumor progression,metastasis,cancer metabolism,immunity,and drug ***,RAS signaling is a pivotal factor in the inactivation of Hippo,which controls EGFR-RAS-RAF-MEK-ERKmediated interaction of Hippo ***,the loss of the Hippo pathway may have significant consequences on the targets of RAS-RAF mutations in cancer.

Objective:To investigate anti-dyslipidemic effects of hydroalcoholic fenugreek seed extracts,diosgenin,and 4-OH-Ile on HepG2 cell ***:HepG2 cells were treated with hydroalcoholic fenugreek seed extracts,diosgenin,4-OH-Ile,and ***20 was calculated using the MTT *** cells were then pretreated with IC20 concentrations for 24 and 48 *** time PCR was employed to measure expression of liver X receptor alpha(LXR a),sterol regulatory element-binding protein-1 C(SREBP-1 C),acetyl-CoA carboxylase(ACC),fatty acid synthase(FAS),fibroblast growth factor 21(FGF21),peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma(PPAR γ),and lowdensity lipoprotein receptor(LDLR).Results:The results showed that LXR α(P=0.003,P<0.001).,SREBP-1 C(P<0.001,P<0.001),ACC(P=0.002,P=0.006),and FAS(P<0.001,P<0.001)were downregulated significantly,while FGF21(P<0.001,P<0.001),PPAR γ(P=0.004,P<0.001),and LDLR(P<0.001,P<0.001)were upregulated significantly in HepG2 cells treated with the IC20 of hydroalcoholic fenugreek seed extracts,diosgenin,4-OH-Ile,and orlistat in 24 and 48 h,***:Hydroalcoholic fenugreek seed extracts,diosgenin,and 4-OH-Ile significantly modulate the expression of some important lipid metabolism related genes,which is similar to *** foenum.-graecum seed extract or its derivatives should be further investigated for their dyslipidemia effects and its complications.

FPGA Simulation of Linear and Nonlinear Support Vector Machine

Simple hardware architecture for implementation of pairwise Support Vector Machine (SVM) classifiers on FPGA is presented. Training phase of the SVM is performed offline, and the extracted parameters used to implement testing phase of the SVM on the hardware. In the architecture, vector multiplication operation and classification of pairwise classifiers is designed in parallel and simultaneously. In order to realization, a dataset of Persian handwritten digits in three different classes is used for training and testing of SVM. Graphically simulator, System Generator, has been used to simulate the desired hardware design. Implementation of linear and nonlinear SVM classifier using simple blocks and functions, no limitation in the number of samples, generalized to multiple simultaneous pairwise classifiers, no complexity in hardware design, and simplicity of blocks and functions used in the design are view of the obvious characteristics of this research. According to simulation results, maximum frequency of 202.840 MHz in linear classification, and classification accuracy of 98.67% in nonlinear one has been achieved, which shows outstanding performance of the hardware designed architecture.

A Reliable and Efficient Time Synchronization Protocol for Heterogeneous Wireless Sensor Network

L-SYNC is a synchronization protocol for Wireless Sensor Networks which is based on larger degree clustering providing efficiency in homogeneous topologies. In L-SYNC, the effectiveness of the routing algorithm for the synchronization precision of two remote nodes was considered. Clustering in L-SYNC is according to larger degree techniques. These techniques reduce cluster overlapping, resulting in the routing algorithm requiring fewer hops to move from one cluster to another remote cluster. Even though L-SYNC offers higher precision compared to other algorithms, it does not support heterogeneous topologies and its synchronization algorithm can be influenced by unreliable data. In this paper, we present the L-SYNCng (L-SYNC next generation) protocol, working in heterogeneous topologies. Our proposed protocol is scalable in unreliable and noisy environments. Simulation results illustrate that L-SYNCng has better precision in synchronization and scalability.

SDN-Based Data Offloading for 5G Mobile Networks

The rapid growth of 3G/4G enabled devices such as smartphones and tablets in large numbers has created increased demand for mobile data services. Wi-Fi offloading helps satisfy the requirements of data-rich applications and terminals with improved multi- media. Wi-Fi is an essential approach to alleviating mobile data traffic load on a cellular network because it provides extra capacity and improves overall performance. In this paper, we propose an integrated LTE/Wi-Fi architecture with software-defined networking （SDN） abstraction in mobile baekhaul and enhanced components that facilitate the move towards next-generation 5G mo- bile networks. Our proposed architecture enables programmable offloading policies that take into account real-time network conditions as well as the status of devices and applications. This mechanism improves overall network performance by deriving real- time policies and steering traffic between cellular and Wi-Fi networks more efficiently.
