Background: Nowadays, though more attention is being paid to oral and dental hygiene all over the world, dental caries and periodontal diseases are increasing daily. We decided to study the effectiveness of natural toothbrush in prevention of dental caries and plaque formation. Methods: This analytic, semi-experimental clinical trial included 390 individuals. Subjects were divided into 3 groups: using natural toothbrush, using artificial toothbrush and using both natural and artificial toothbrush. The plaque index and DMFT was assessed at the beginning of the study until 1 year. ANOVA, Kruskal Wallis, LSD, Paired t-test, chi square, Fisher exact and Mc-Nemar tests were used for data analysis. Results: The plaque index in all three groups showed a mean reduction of 0.71. The mean DMFT in the samples before intervention was 8.38 ± 4.14 and increased to 9.1 ± 4.56. At the end of the study, the lowest plaque index was observed in the group using both the natural and artificial methods. During one year follow-up, the plaque index decreased 1.16, 0.83, and 0.21 degrees in the first, second and third groups. Conclusion: The increase in DMFT in the group that used artificial toothbrush was more than other groups. Thus, use of natural toothbrush leads to a decrease in growth rate of DMFT. Therefore natural toothbrush can be used for the cleaning of teeth and prevention of dental caries.

AIM:To improve hepatic differentiation of human mesenchymal stem cell(MSC)using insulin growth factor 1(IGF-Ⅰ),which has important role in liver development,hepatocyte differentiation and ***:Bone marrow of healthy donors was aspirated from the iliac *** adherent cells expanded rapidly and were maintained with periodic passages until a relatively homogeneous population was *** identification of these cells was carried out by immunophenotype analysis and differentiation potential into osteocytes and *** effectively induce hepatic differentiation,we designed a protocol based on a combination of IGF-Ⅰ and liver specificfactors(hepatocyte growth factor,oncostatin M and dexamethasone).Morphological features,hepatic functions and cytological staining were assessed to evaluate transdifferentiation of human marrow-derived ***:Flow cytometric analysis and the differentiation potential into osteoblasts and adipocytes showed that more than 90% of human MSCs which were isolated and expanded were positive by specif ic markers and functional *** assessment and evaluation of glycogen storage,albumin and α-feto protein expression,as well as albumin and urea secretion revealed a statistically signif icant difference between the experimental groups and ***:In vitro differentiated MSCs using IGF-Ⅰwere able to display advanced liver metabolic functions,supporting the possibility of developing them as potential alternatives to primary hepatocytes.

Based on the experimental data, the characteristics of maximum clear water scour hole around groins were studied by correlating to the approach velocity of flow, mean sediment size, depth of flow and ratio of length of permeable to impermeable part of groin. Empirical equations for prediction of scour hole characteristics were proposed based upon dimensional analysis and laboratory experiments.

AIM: To assess and compare the image quality of 4% sorbitol and diluted iodine 2%(positive oral contrast agent) in abdomino-pelvic multi-detector computed ***: Two-hundred patients, referred to the Radiology Department of a central educational hospital for multi-detector row abdominal-pelvic computed tomography, were randomly divided into two groups: the first group received 1500 m L of 4% sorbitol solution as a neutral contrast agent, while in the second group 1500 m L of meglumin solution as a positive contrast agent was administered in a one-way randomized prospective study. The results were independently reviewed by two radiologists. Luminal distension and mural thickness and mucosal enhancement were compared between the two groups. Statistical analysis of the results was performed by Statistical Package for the Social Sciences software version 16 and the Mann-Whitney test at a confidence level of 95%. RESULTS: Use of neutral oral contrast agent significantly improved visualization of the small bowel wall thickness and mural appearance in comparison with administration of positive contrast agent(P < 0.01). In patients who received sorbitol, the small bowel showed better distention compared with those who received iodine solution as a positive contrast agent(P < 0.05). CONCLUSION: The results of the study demonstrated that oral administration of sorbitol solution allows better luminal distention and visualization of mural features than iodine solution as a positive contrast agent.

本文采用X-射线吸收精细结构光谱（XANES）对不同硫含量的系列烷基多硫化物与钢表面在70℃和150℃反应的热膜以及摩擦膜进行了分析。结果表明在70℃和150℃下生成的热膜主要成分是FeSO4或Fe2（SO4）3,温度的提高会增大生成的热膜厚度;生成的摩擦膜成分主要是铁的硫酸盐、二硫化铁和一些硫的中间价态盐的混合物。添加剂分子中硫含量的提高可以增大生成的热膜和摩擦膜的厚度。

Isfahan industrial province with its numerous industrial estates in its area and consequently the amount of wastewater produced by these settlements is very difficult to deal ***,the need for proper wastewater treatment and efficient management of industrial waste water from the industrial estates of this province should be seriously addressed and followed up by the *** purpose of this study is the feasibility of reuse of wastewater from industrial settlements for agricultural and irrigation *** present study is a descriptive cross-sectional *** this study,the average values obtained from the sampling and the results of the experiments on waste water from the industrial waste water treatment plant in Isfahan,2017,have been *** values of BOD5,COD,TSS and so on were compared with the standards set by the Environmental Protection Agency and analyzed in Excel *** to the results,the average values of COD,BOD5,TSS,SO4,pH and catalyst quality parameters were determined from wastewater effluents of 315,162,93,164(mg/L),8.3 and 32.5(NTU)*** results of the study show that the average values of the quality parameters examined from the effluent of the treatment plant other than BOD5 and COD are within the standard range and the limit for agricultural and irrigation purposes,which may lead to undesirable environmental performance of these two parameters.
