Process monitoring techniques are of paramount importance in the chemical industry to improve both the product quality and plant *** or incipient irregularities may lead to severe degradation in complex chemical processes,and the conventional process monitoring techniques cannot detect these *** this study to improve the performance of monitoring,an online multiscale fault detection approach is proposed by integrating multiscale principal component analysis(MSPCA) with cumulative sum(CUSUM) and exponentially weighted moving average(EWMA) control *** new Hotelling's T~2 and square prediction error(SPE) based fault detection indices are proposed to detect the incipient irregularities in the process *** performance of the proposed fault detection methods was tested for simulated data obtained from the CSTR system and compared to that of conventional PCA and MSPCA based *** results demonstrate that the proposed EWMA based MSPCA fault detection method was successful in detecting the ***,a comparative study shows that the SPEEWMA monitoring index exhibits a better performance with lower values of missed detections ranging from 0% to 0.80% and false alarms ranging from 0% to 21.20%.

The magnetohydrodynamic （MHD） flow of the third grade fluid between two permeable disks with heat transfer is investigated. The governing partial differential equa- tions are converted into the ordinary differential equations by suitable transformations. The transformed equations are solved by the homotopy analysis method （HAM）. The expressions for square residual errors are defined, and the optimal values of convergence- control parameters are selected. The dimensionless velocity and temperature fields are examined for various dimensionless parameters. The skin friction coefficient and the Nus- selt number are tabulated to analyze the effects of dimensionless parameters.

Recently, drought-induced damaging impact in reducing the crop growth and development is drastically ranked at the top under various abiotic stresses. And especially water stress at the reproductive growth stages termed as terminal drought has become a severe threat for mungbean productivity. To mitigate the drought stress condition, "bio-priming" has emerged as a newly agronomic and sustainable technique in improving the mungbean production. A 2-year field study during Kharif season 2017–2018 was conducted to investigate the efficacy of rhizobacteria seed priming in mungbean(AZRI mung-06), at Agronomic Research Area, Department of Agronomy, Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan, Pakistan. The experiment comprised two factors containing FA(seed treatments, control(dry seeds), hydro-priming, silicon(Si)-priming, and bio-priming(mixture strains of Pseudomonas fluorescens+Rhizobium phaseoli)) and FB(irrigation water-regimes at various growth stages including leaf formation(L), stem elongation(S)+flowering(F)+pod formation(P) containing treatments are normal irrigation(I(L+S+F+P)) and terminal drought stress(I(F+P))). All the treatments were arranged in randomized complete block design under factorial design and were replicated thrice. Results indicated that the exposure of drought stress at flowering and pod formation stages hampered the morpho-physiological growth and yield of mungbean. Nevertheless, seed priming treatments particularly bio-priming were effective in alleviating the detrimental effects of drought stress. Bio-priming significantly increased the yield and yield components(seeds/plant, 1 000-grain weight and harvest index) of mungbean and regulated the activities/levels of antioxidants(superoxide dismutase, catalase, peroxidase, ascorbic acid, and total phenolics) under drought stress. Compared with the control, bio-priming increased the seed yield of mungbean by 8–12% under normal as well as drought stress conditions during both years of study. Bio-primi

This article investigates the effects of variable thermal conductivity and variable mass diffusion coefficient on the transport of heat and mass in the flow of Casson fluid. Numerical simulations for two-dimensional flow induced by stretching surface are performed by using Galerkin finite element method(GFEM) with linear shape functions. After assembly process, nonlinear algebraic equations are linearized through Picard method and resulting linear system is solved iteratively using Gauss Seidal method with simulation tolerance 10^(-8). Maximum value of independent variableη is searched through numerical experiments. Grid independent study was carried out and error analysis is *** results are validated by comparing with already published results. Parametric study is carried out to explore the physics of the flow. The concentration increases when mass diffusion coefficient is increased. The concentration and thermal boundary layer thicknesses increase when ?_1 and ? are increased. The effect of generative chemical reaction on concentration is opposite to the effect of destructive chemical reaction on the concentration.
