Nanoparticles for targeted delivery of therapeutics and small interfering RNAs in hepatocellular carcinoma

Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) is the 5th most common malignancy which is responsible for more than half million annual mortalities; also, it is the third leading cause of cancer related death. Unfavorablesystemic side-effects of chemotherapeutic agents and susceptibility to the degradation of small interfering RNAs(si RNAs), which can knock down a specific gene involved in the disease, have hampered their clinical application. So, it could be beneficial to develop an efficient carrier for the stabilization and specific delivery of drugs and si RNA to cells. Targeted nanoparticles have gained considerable attention as an efficient drug and gene delivery system, which is due to their capability in achieving the highest accumulation of cytotoxic agents in tumor tissue, modifiable drug pharmacokinetic- and bio-distribution, improved effectiveness of treatment, and limited sideeffects. Recent studies have shed more light on the advantages of novel drug loaded carrier systems vs free drugs. Most of the animal studies have reported improvement in treatment efficacy and survival rate using novel carrier systems. Targeted delivery may be achieved passively or actively. In passive targeting, no ligand as homing device is used, while targeting is achieved by incorporating the therapeutic agent into a macromolecule or nanoparticle that passively reaches the target organ. However, in active targeting, the therapeutic agent or carrier system is conjugated to a tissue or cell-specific receptor which is overexpressed in a special malignancy using a ligand called a homing device. This review covers a broad spectrum of targeted nanoparticles as therapeutic and nonviral si RNA delivery systems, which are developed for enhanced cellular uptake and targeted gene silencing in vitro and in vivo and their characteristics and opportunities for the clinical applications of drugs and therapeutic si RNA are discussed in this article. Quantum speedup and non-Markovianity of an atom in structured reservoirs:pseudomodes as a good description of environmental memory

Following the recent paper(Teittinen et al 2019 New J. Phys. 21 123041), one can see that in general there is no simple relation between non-Markovianity and quantum speed limit. Here, we investigate the connection between quantum speed limit time and non-Markovianity of an atom in structured environments(reservoirs) whose dynamics is governed by an exact pseudomode master equation(Garraway 1997 Phys. Rev. A 55 2290). In particular, we find an inverse relation between them, which means that the non-Markovian feature of the quantum process leads to speedup of evolution. Thus, there is a link between quantum speedup and memory effects for specific cases of dynamical evolution. Our results might shed light on the relationship between the speedup of quantum evolution and the backflow of information from the environment to the system.

Improving mobile mass monitoring in the IoT environment based on Fog computing using an improved forest optimization algorithm

In the IoT-based users monitor tasks in the network environment by participating in the data collection process by smart *** monitor their data in the form of fog computing(mobile mass monitoring).Service providers are required to pay user rewards without increasing platform *** of the NP-Hard methods to maximise the coverage rate and reduce the platform costs(reward)is the Cooperative Based Method for Smart Sensing Tasks(CMST).This article uses chaos theory and fuzzy parameter setting in the forest optimisation *** proposed method is implemented with *** average findings show that the network coverage rate is 31%and the monitoring cost is 11%optimised compared to the CMST scheme and the mapping of the mobile mass monitoring problem to meta-heuristic *** using the improved forest optimisation algorithm can reduce the costs of the mobile crowd monitoring platform and has a better coverage rate.

Evolution of biomass particles during pelletization process

Pulverizing is an essential unit operation in co-firing biomass with *** are only compatible with pellet forms of fibrous biomass materials and crush them down to their original forming particle *** is why the data on the size distribution of the particles forming a biomass pellet is crucial to achieving optimum combustion *** current study determines the internal particle size distribution of pellets after wet disintegration,following Iso 17830 standard,and aims to suggest improvements to the mentioned standard based on new measured *** were carried out on white wood pellets(no bark)and brown wood pellets containing bark at four water temperatures:20,40,60,and 95℃,with or without *** particle size distribution of the pre-pelletizer wood particles was also measured and compared with particles in the formed *** water temperature of 20℃ was found to be adequate for the complete disintegration of pellets,and no mechanical stirring was *** 30% of particles in the disintegrated pellets were 0.5-1.0 *** changes the particle size distribution to smaller *** disintegrated bark pellets contained more fines than white pellets.

Kink-band Kinematic Analysis and its Implications for Late-stage Deformation in the Internal Parts of the Zagros Collision(Sanandaj–Sirjan Zone) in West Iran

In the internal parts of the Zagros collision zone, several deformation phases have been superimposed. The early deformation phase caused the development of a penetrative foliation. The late-stage deformation phase was preferentially accommodated within shear zones and caused the generation of shear bands, implying a non-coaxial component of deformation, the end of this stage deformation was marked by the development of kink-bands. In the vicinity of Zagros suture zone, the kink angle increased from 40° to 60°, and the kink-bands was converted to chevron folds. In this region, the external(α) and internal(β) angular ratio is α/β ≠ 1 and kink angle increased, and deformation occurred with 10% to 30% volume loss. Farther from the suture zone in the east, α/β = 1; and total volume was constant or increased by 5% to 10%. Kink-bands kinematic analysis in the study area revealed this structures were sensitive to deformation conditions and components such that, with decreasing distance to the Zagros suture zone, shearing and rotation increased, a high kinematic vorticity dominated, and volume loss occurred during deformation.

Background Noncommunicable diseases(NCDs)are the main reasons of mortality *** of every two person is dying due to NCDs in *** policy actors,mainly the World Health Organization(WHO),published several reports and declarations on controlling and preventing *** study aimed to provide a situation for governance of NCDs in Afghanistan and proper solutions for identified *** We conducted qualitative research utilizing interpretive phenomenology.A self-developed questionnaire was developed to conduct the semi-structured interviews with 39 experts from *** results were analyzed using a deductive framework *** building block framework of health system developed by the WHO was used as predefined framework for this *** The governance building block of health system consists of five subthemes including policy making,planning,organizing,stewardship,and *** identified main strengths,weaknesses,opportunities,and challenges for these *** experts also provided key recommendations to address the *** Management of NCDs is a neglected part of the health system in *** evidence-based policy making with technical and indigenous planning,establishing responsive units with adequate financial and human resources within different ministries to address“health in all policies”concept,passing and implementing national laws and regulations to support national strategies for prevention and control of NCDs,and establishing decentralized monitoring systems to control the implementation of these strategies are the main recommendations of this *** government and international policy actors should invest and support the development of a multisectoral coordination system at national level for Afghanistan.

Prevalence of Anemia in Patients with Diabetes Mellitus:A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Objective Anemia is a common public health concern in patients with type 2 diabetes *** study aimed to identify the prevalence of anemia among patients with *** Electronic databases,including PubMed,Scopus,Web of Sciences,and Google Scholar,were searched systematically for studies published between 2010 and *** removing duplicates and inappropriate reports,the remaining manuscripts were reviewed and appraised using theNewcastleOttawa Scale(NOS)tool.A random-effects model was used to calculate the pooled estimates of the extracted data using Stata version *** of the studies was assessed using the Q *** A total of 51 articles containing information on 26,485 patients with diabetes were included in this *** articles were mainly from Asia(58.82%)and Africa(35.29%).The overall prevalence of anemia was 35.45%(95%CI:30.30–40.76),with no evidence of heterogeneity by *** the two continents with the highest number of studies,the prevalence of anemia in patients with diabetes was significantly higher in Asia[40.02;95%CI:32.72–47.54]compared to Africa[28.46;95%CI:21.90–35.50](P for heterogeneity=0.029).Moreover,there has been an increasing trend in the prevalence of anemia in patients with diabetes over time,from[15.28;95%CI:9.83–22.21]in 2012 to[40.70;95%CI:10.21–75.93]in *** Globally,approximately 4 in 10 patients with diabetes suffer from ***,routine anemia screening and control programs every 3 months might be useful in improving the quality of life of these patients.
