The primary objective of this research was to assess the potential of magnetic bleached biochar(MBBC)as a cost-effective adsorbent for arsenic *** achieve this,locally collected tea wastes underwent meticulous cleaning,bleaching,and modifications via thermal and chemical *** non-magnetic and magnetic biochar adsorbents were thoroughly characterized using Fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy(FT-Ir)and thermo-gravimetric analysis(TGA).Subsequently,the adsorptive performance of MBBC in removing arsenic from wastewater samples was investigated,considering various crucial parameters such as adsorbent-adsorbate contact time,concentration of As,temperature,adsorbent dosage,and the regeneration-ability of the *** experimental data for the adsorption process were best represented by the Langmuir isotherm,indicating its suitability for the MBBC ***,the MBBC demonstrated a maximum Langmuir adsorption capacity of approximately 714 mg/g at room temperature,highlighting its efficiency as an arsenic ***,the Lagergren's Pseudo-second order kinetic model proved to be the most suitable for describing the adsorption kinetics,confirming the chemisorption nature of the *** results also indicated that the adsorption process is endothermic and feasible,suggesting its viability for practical *** all findings into account,the comprehensive analysis strongly supports the potential use of MBBC as a highly promising and cost-effective adsorbent for efficiently removing arsenic from aqueous *** research contributes valuable insights to the field of wastewater treatment and offers a sustainable and environmentally friendly solution for tackling arsenic contamination in water sources.

We treat the accurate simulation of the calcination reaction in particles,where the particles are large and,thus,the inner-particle processes must be *** these processes need to be described with coupled partial differential equations(PDEs)that must be solved numerically,the computation times for a single particle are too high for use in simulations that involve many *** of this type arise when the Discrete Element Method(DEM)is combined with Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD)to investigate industrial systems such as quicklime production in lime shaft *** show that,based on proper orthogonal decomposition and Galerkin projection,reduced models can be derived for single particles that provide the same spatial and temporal resolution as the original PDE models at a considerably reduced computational *** the finite volume particle models with the reduced models results in an overall reduction of the reactor simulation time by about 40%for the sample system treated here.

Purpose:The present work examines the associations of dietary habits,sedentarism,physical activity(PA)levels and sleep habits,with thyroid function in young euthyroid ***:A total of 105 young euthyroid adults participated in this cross-sectional *** function was determined in fasting conditions(>6 h).Dietary habits were measured by a food frequency questionnaire and three non-consecutive 24 h recalls,and different dietary intake and patterns were then *** time spent in sedentary,PA levels and sleep habits were objectively measured using a wrist-worn ***:Energy and carbohydrate intake were positively associated with thyroid stimulating hormone(TSH)(β=0.222;r^(2)=0.102;P=0.022 andβ=0.425;r^(2)=0.129;P=0.007,respectively)whereas fat intake was negatively associated with TSH(β=-0.428;r^(2)=0.137;P=0.004).Energy intake was also positively associated with free triiodothyronine(β=0.277;r^(2)=0.137;P=0.004).Further,adherence to the Mediterranean diet was negatively related to TSH and free thyroxine(FT4)(β=-0.221;r^(2)=0.113;P=0.020 andβ=-0.268;r^(2)=0.071;P=0.007,respectively).Vigorous-intensity and overall PA were negatively associated with FT4(β=-0.227;r^(2)=0.052;P=0.022 andβ=-0.204;r^(2)=0.042;P=0.041,respectively).In contrast,no associations were found between sleep parameters and thyroid ***:Lifestyle factors such as dietary intake and PA levels seems to be related to thyroid function even in young euthyroid adults.
