Theophylline(TP)is a very well established orally or intravenously delivered antiasthma drug with many beneficial *** study aims to improve asthma treatment by creating a dry powder inhalable(DPI)formulation of TP to be delivered directly to the lung,avoiding the side effects associated with conventional oral *** DPI TP formulation was investigated for its physico-chemical characteristics using scanning electron microscopy,laser diffraction,thermal analysis and dynamic vapour ***,aerosol performance was assessed using the Multi Stage Liquid Impinger(MSLI).In addition,a Calu-3 cell transport assay was conducted in vitro using a modified ACI to study the impact of the DPI formulation on lung epithelial *** showed DPI TP to be physico-chemically stable and of an aerodynamic size suitable for lung *** aerosolisation performance analysis showed the TP DPI formulation to have a fine particle fraction of 29.70±2.59%(P<0.05)for the TP formulation containing 1.0%(w/w)sodium stearate,the most efficient for *** the deposition of TP DPI on Calu-3 cells using the modified ACI,results demonstrated that 56.14±7.62%of the total TP deposited(13.07±1.69μg)was transported across the Calu-3 monolayer over 180 min following deposition,while 37.05±12.62%of the deposited TP was retained in the *** could be due to the presence of sodium stearate in the current formulation that increased its lipophilicity.A DPI formulation of TP was developed that was shown to be suitable for inhalation.

Robots in the medical industry are becoming more common in daily life because of various advantages such as quick response,less human interference,high dependability,improved hygiene,and reduced aging *** is why,in recent years,robotic aid has emerged as a blossoming solution to many challenges in the medical *** this manuscript,meta-heuristics(MH)algorithms,specifically the Firefly Algorithm(FF)and Genetic Algorithm(GA),are applied to tune PID controller constraints such as Proportional gain Kp Integral gain Ki and Derivative gain *** controller is used to control Mobile Robot System(MRS)at the required set *** FF arrangements are made based on various pre-analysis.A detailed simulation study indicates that the proposed PID controller tuned with Firefly Algorithm(FF-PID)for MRSis beneficial and suitable to achieve desired closed-loop system *** FF is touted as providing an easy,reliable,and efficient tuning technique for PID *** most suitable ideal performance is accomplished with FF-PID,according to the display in the time ***,the observed response is compared to those received by applying GA and conventional off-line tuning *** comparison of all tuning methods exhibits supremacy of FF-PID tuning of the given nonlinear Mobile Robot System than GA-PID tuning and conventional controller.

Crustal structure of the western Indian shield: Model based on regional gravity and magnetic data

High speed sub-micrometric microscopy using optical polymer microlens

We report the high speed scanning submicronic microscopy （SSM） using a low cost polymer microlens integrated at the extremity of an optical fiber. These microlenses are fabricated by a free-radical photopolymerization method. Using a polymer microlens with a radius of curvature of 250 nm, a sub-micrometric gold pattern is imaged experimentally by SSM. Different distances between the tip and the sample are used with a high scanning speed of 200 cm/s. In particular, metallic absorption contrasts are described with an optical spatial resolution of 250 nm at the wavelength of 532 nm. Moreover, finite-difference time-domain （FDTD） simulations concerning the focal lengths of microlenses with different geometries and heights support the experimental data.

Low Grade Appendiceal Mucinous Neoplasm Presenting as a Mucocoele of the Appendix

Low grade appendiceal mucinous neoplasm (LAMN) is a rare malignancy with incidence of 0.7% to 1.7% of all appendicectomies [1]. LAMN has the worst complication of mucin seeding into adjacent peritoneum leading to pseudomyxoma peritonei. LAMN lacks standardised treatment approach where only appendicectomy is preferred for resection of non metastatic disease. Case Presentation A 38 yr old female presented with right lower quadrant where CT Abdomen revealed Mucocele of Appendix. Patient underwent Laparoscopic Appendicectomy and Histopathological examination revealed Low grade appendiceal mucinous neoplasm. Patient is on regular follow up and is disease free. Conclusion low grade appendiceal mucinous neoplasm is usually an incidental finding where treatment depends on staging and histology of the tumour.

Comparison of choroidal vessel thickness in children and adult eyes by enhanced-depth imaging optical coherence tomography imaging

AIM： To evaluate choroidal thickness, medium choroidal vessel thickness（MCVT） and large choroidal vessel thickness（LCVT） in normal children and adult ***： Manual measurements of subfoveal choroidal thickness（SFCT）, MCVT and LCVT at subfoveal and 750 μm nasal and temporal to fovea locations were completed on enhanced-depth imaging optical coherence tomography（EDI-OCT） scans of normal children and adult ***： Fifty adult and fifty-seven child subjects were included in the study（including 80 adult and 103 child eyes）. Mean（±SD） SFCT of adult and children eyes in the study was 309.3±95.7 μm and 279.3±50.4 μm respectively. SFCT and subfoveal MCVT in adult eyes were significantly more than children（P=0.01 and P≤0.0001 respectively）.CONCLUSION： There is choroidal thickening with associated thickening of medium choroidal vessels in adults, suggesting that there is alteration in choroidal vasculature with ageing.

Preparation and Charaterization of Self-assembled Nanoparticles Based on Linolenic-acid Modified Chitosan

Chitosan was modified by conjugating coupling with linolenic acid through the l-ethyl-3-( 3-dimethylami-nopropyyl) carbodiimmide (EDC)-mediated reaction. The degree of substitution 1.8% (i.e. 1.8 linolenic acid group per 100anhydroglucose units) was measured by 1H NMR. The critical aggregation concentration (CAC) of the self-aggregate of hy-drophobically modified chitosan was determined by measuring the fluorescence intensity of the pyrene as a fluorescent *** CAC value in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) solution (pH7.4) was 5 × 10-2 mg mL-1. The average particle size of self-aggregates of hydrophobically modified chitosan in PBS solution (pH7.4) was 210.8 nm with a unimodal size distributionranging from 100 to 500 nm. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) study showed that the formation of near sphericalshape nanoparticles has enough structural integrity. The loading ability of hydrophibically modified chitosan (LA-chitosan)was investigated by using bovine serum albumin (BSA) as the model. The loading capacity of self-aggregated nanoparticlesincreases (19.85% ±0.04% to 37.57% ±0.25%) with the concentration of BSA (0.1-0.5mgmL-1).
