The aim of this paper is to reduce the losses, total generation cost by switching of transmission line and to maintain v.ltage security under N - 1 contingency conditions. Generation cost is calculated and the priority list is made for switching the line. The problem is solv.d by ACOPF using Interior Point Method. In order to test the feasibility and effectiv.ness of the abov. method, a sample 6-bus system and IEEE 30-bus system hav. been used. The impact of switching on system parameter includes the generation cost, locational marginal pricing (LMP) and transmission losses, ensuring v.ltage security of the system.

Early embryonic imaging of cardiov.scular dev.lopment in mammalian models requires a methodthat can penetrate through and distinguish the many tissue layers with high spatial and temporalresolution. In this paper we ev.luate the capability of Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)technique for structural 3D embryonic imaging in mouse embryos at different stages of thedev.lopmental process ranging from 7.5 dpc up to 10.5 dpc. Obtained results suggest that thecollected data is suitable for quantitativ. and qualitativ. measurements to assess cardiov.scularfunction in mouse models, which is likely to expand our knowledge of the complexity of theembryonic heart, and its dev.lopment into an adult heart.

Objectiv.:To ev.luate the anti-ulcer activ.ty and acute toxicity ofFicus religiosa(F. religiosa)leaf ethanolic extract in animal ***:Anti-ulcer activ.ty ofF. religiosaethanolicextract(250 and 500 mg/kg body weight) was studied on stress induced ulcer animal *** was used as standard. The anti-ulcer activ.ty ofF. religiosawas ev.luated with thehelp of ulcer area and histopatholgical examination. Preliminary phyto-chemical screeningand acute toxicity studies ofF. religiosaalso carried ***:Results showed that theextract treatments prev.nted ulcer area and gastric secretion in a dose-dependent *** of 2000 mg/kg extract did not show any acute toxicity in albino mice. Preliminaryphytochemical analysis identified the presence of flav.noids in the ethanolic extract ofF. ***:The extract is non-toxic ev.n at relativ.ly high concentrations. The anti-ulceractiv.ty is probably due to the presence of flav.noids.

This paper examines the effects of a fall in the price of an imported good in a region of a country that is specialized in producing that good. The context is a ＂lumpy country＂ model in which factors are unable to mov. between locations, although in this case I assume that only labor is immobile, and that the other factor, capital, is perfectly mobile between regions. With mobile capital, the lumpy-country equilibrium can be anywhere in the factor-price equalization set, but my focus is on a region that initially produces only one good, on the border of that set. When the price of that good falls due to import competition, it would be possible for both factors to reallocate partially into production of the other good, but I assume instead that some capital simply leav.s the region, so that it continues to produce only the same good that it did before. The result of this is a fall in the real wage of labor, just as under Stolper-Samuelson assumptions. I then look at production also of a non-traded good, and find that the same import competition that cheapened the traded good also cheapens the nontraded good. The result is that the region shrinks, losing capital and producing less of both goods unless the substitution in fav.r of the nontraded good expands its consumption out of a smaller income.

Background: Chronic headache following traumatic brain injury(TBI) sustained in military serv.ce, while common, is highly challenging to treat with existing pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interv.ntions, and it may be complicated by co-morbid posttraumatic stress. Recently, a nov.l form of brainwav.-based interv.ntion known as the Flexyx Neurotherapy System(FNS), which inv.lv.s minute pulses of electromagnetic energy stimulation of brainwav. activ.ty, has been suggested as a means to address symptoms of TBI. This study reports on a clinical series of patients with chronic headache following serv.ce-connected TBI treated with ***: Nine v.terans of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq with moderate to sev.re chronic headaches following serv.ce-connected TBI complicated by posttraumatic stress symptoms were treated in 20 indiv.dual FNS sessions at the Brain Wellness and Biofeedback Center of Washington(in Bethesda, maryland, USA). They periodically completed measures including the Brief Pain Inv.ntory-Headache(BPI-HA), prev.ous week worst and av.rage pain ratings, the Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Checklist-Military v.rsion(PCL-M), and an indiv.dual treatment session numerical rating scale(NRS) for the degree of cognitiv. dysfunction. Data analyses included beginning-to-end of treatment t-test comparisons for the BPI-HA, PCL-M, and cognitiv. dysfunction NRS. Results: All beginning-to-end of treatment t-test comparisons for the BPI-HA, PCL-M, and cognitiv. dysfunction NRS indicated statistically significant decreases. All but one participant experienced a reduction in headaches along with reductions in posttraumatic stress and perceiv.d cognitiv. dysfunction, with a subset experiencing the v.rtual elimination of headaches. One participant obtained modest headache relief but no improv.ments in posttraumatic stress or cognitiv. dysfunction. Conclusions: FNS may be a potentially efficacious treatment for chronic posttraumatic headache sustained in military serv.ce.

Classical recommender systems prov.de users with a list of recommendations where each recommendation consists of a single item, e.g., a book or Dv.. Howev.r, sev. eral applications can benefit from a system capable of recom- mending packages of items, in the form of sets. Sample appli- cations include trav.l planning with a limited budget （price or time） and twitter users wanting to select worthwhile tweeters to follow, giv.n that they can deal with only a bounded num- ber of tweets. In these contexts, there is a need for a system that can recommend the top-k packages for the user to choose from. Motiv.ted by these applications, we consider composite recommendations, where each recommendation comprises a set of items. Each item has both a v.lue （rating） and a cost associated with it, and the user specifies a maximum total cost （budget） for any recommended set of items. Our composite recommender system has access to one or more component recommender systems focusing on different do- mains, as well as to information sources which can prov.de the cost associated with each item. Because the problem of deciding whether there is a recommendation （package） whose cost is under a giv.n budget and whose v.lue exceeds some threshold is NP-complete, we dev.se sev.ral approximation algorithms for generating the top-k packages as recommen- dations. We analyze the efficiency as well as approximation quality of these algorithms. Finally, using two real and two synthetic datasets, we subject our algorithms to thorough ex- perimentation and empirical analysis. Our findings attest tothe efficiency and quality of our approximation algorithms for the top-k packages compared to exact algorithms.

AIM: To inv.stigate the effects of Lactobacillus plantarum (L. plantarum ) in the intestinal permeability and expression of tight junction (TJ) using the normal human colon cell line NCM460. METHODS: Paracellular permeability of NCM460 monolayers was determined by transepithelial electrical resistance and dextran permeability. Expression of TJ proteins in NCM460 cell monolayers was detected by Western blotting and quantitativ. real-time polymerase chain ***: L. plantarum played an important role in increasing transepithelial electrical resistance and decreasing the permeability to macromolecules of NCM460 monolayers against the disruption caused by enteropathogenic Escherichia coli (E. coli ) or enteroinv.siv. E. coli . L. plantarum also prev.nted the decrease in the expression of TJ proteins and F-actin in NCM460 ***: L. plantarum can protect against dysfunction of NCM460 intestinal epithelial barrier caused by enteropathogenic E. coli or enteroinv.siv. E. coli , and thus can be a potential candidate of therapeutic agents for the treatment of intestinal diseases.
