This mate.ial is wild-harve.te., but colle.tors se.m not to fully appre.iate.the.pote.tial value.of the.plant mate.ial the. colle.t nor the.longte.m impact the.r colle.tion has on local plant populations. A mode. proje.t supporte. by the.Inte.national Food Policy Re.e.rch Institute.IFPRI)pe.suade. small-scale.farme.s in four diffe.e.t village. to use.some.of the.r land for cultivating traditionally wild-harve.te. spe.ie. of me.icinal and aromatic plants(MAPs) with high marke. value.
