Magnesite and talc origin in the sequence of geodynamic events in Veporicum, Inner Western Carpathians, Slovakia

This paper summarizes recent data about magnesite and talc genesis in Carboniferous host rocks of Western Carpathians (Slovakia) , which occur in two distinct belts in tectonic superunit Veporicum and its contact zone with Gemericum. The northern Sinec magnesite and talc belt (with main deposits Kokava, Sinec, Samo, Hnust'a-Mutnik) contains economic accummulation of magnesite and talc, while in the southern Ochtina belt ( main deposits in Dubrava massif-Dubrava, Mikova, Jedl'ovec; Lubenik, Ochtina, Kosice-Bankov, Banisko, Medvedia) the magnesite is *** magnesite genesis by successive replacement of Carboniferous calcite to dolomite and magnesite during metamorphic process Ml (northern belt 280-400℃; , southern belt 370-420℃: ; Radvanec & Prochaska, 2001; Kodera & Radvanec, 2002) , being supplied by Mg from Permoscythian evaporitic bittern brines, relates to Variscan post-collisional (post-VD) evolution. The extensional tectonics and the high heat flow facilitated the generation of a hydrothermal *** time-separated later metamorphic and sourcely different fluid flow event (M2; 1. c. ) produced talc. Tectonic, microtectonic, metamorphic and geochronological data relate the talc origin with the Alpine Upper Cretaceous (88-84 Ma; Maluski in kovacik et al. , 1996) tectonothermal event AD2. This event, being the consequence of Alpine collisional ( AD1 ) crustal thickening and metamorphic core complex origin, meant regional extension and pervasive fluid flow of open system in crustal discontinuities. This process was prominent in the northern belt ( Sinec shear zone) located more closely to Veporic thermal dome, while towards its peripheral parts (southern Ochtina belt) the M2 metamorphic process and steatitization gradually *** from Sinec shear zone (being the prominent AD2 -AD3 structure of northern Sinec belt) , where the dolomite/magnesite lenses (replacement in M1) and their accompanying lithology were in AD1 sandwitched between more com

The impact of preozonation on the coagulation of cellular organic matter produced by Microcystis aeruginosa and its toxin degradation

Ozonation pretreatment is typically implemented to improve algal cell coagulation. However, knowledge on the effect of ozonation on the characteristics and coagulation of associated algal organic matter, particularly cellular organic matter(COM), which is extensively released during algal bloom decay, is limited. Hence, this study aimed to elucidate the impact of ozonation applied before the coagulation of dissolved COM from the cyanobacteria Microcystis aeruginosa. Additionally, the degradation of microcystins(MCs) naturally present in the COM matrix was investigated. A range of ozone doses(0.1–1.0 mg O3/mg of dissolved organic carbon – DOC) and ozonation pH values(pH 5, 7 and 9) were tested, while aluminium and ferric sulphate coagulants were used for subsequent coagulation. Despite negligible COM removal, ozonation itself eliminated MCs, and a lower ozone dose was required when performing ozonation at acidic or neutral pH(0.4 mg O3/mg DOC at pH 5 and 7 compared to 0.8 mg O3/mg DOC at pH 9). Enhanced MC degradation and a similar pattern of pH dependence were observed after preozonation-coagulation, whereas coagulation alone did not sufficiently remove MCs. In contrast to the benefits of MC depletion, preozonation using ≥0.4 mg O3/mg DOC decreased the coagulation efficiency(from 42%/48% to 28%–38%/41%–44% using Al/Fe-based coagulants), which was more severe with increasing ozone dosage. Coagulation was also influenced by the preozonation pH, where pH 9 caused the lowest reduction in COM removal. The results indicate that ozonation efficiently removes MCs, but its employment before COM coagulation is disputable due to the deterioration of coagulation.

This paper deals with the problem of labeling the vertices, edges and faces of a plane graph in such a way that the label of a face and the labels of the vertices and edges surrounding that face add up to a weight of that face, and the weights of all s-sided faces constitute an arithmetic progression of difference d, for each s that appears in the graph. The paper examines the existence of such labelings for disjoint union of plane graphs.

How can stream bank erosion be predicted on small water courses?Veri?cation of BANCS model on the Kubrica watershed

The current paper deals with the evaluation of the BANCS erosion prediction model and its two componentsethe Bank Erosion Hazard Index（BEHI） and Near-Bank Stress（NBS） indices. To construct the erosion prediction curves, 18 experimental sections were established on the Kubrica Stream, district of Trencín, Slovakia. Each section was assessed through the NBS index and BEHI index and real annual bank erosion was measured using erosion toe pins. Subsequently, the relations between the BEHI and real annual bank erosion was assessed through regression and correlation analyses. The relation proved to be moderately strong, with the correlation coefficient（R） reaching 0.47. Further, the relation between the NBS index and real annual bank erosion was evaluated, which was also moderately strong, with R= *** on the measured data, two erosion prediction curves were constructed, the first for moderate BEHI, with R= 0.69 and coefficient of determination（R2） of 0.47 and the second for high BEHI with R=0.74 and R2= 0.55. The prediction curves were based on data from one year of measurements and can, therefore, be used only for discharges that occurred within that year and in the region where the model was developed. In the current case, according to runoff Curve Numbers（CN）, the real culmination discharge was Q ? 1.88 m3/s, which is roughly equivalent to 1.5-year recurrence interval flow（Q1.5）.

Mesoporous bioactive glasses have been widely investigated for applications in bone tissue regeneration and,more recently,in soft tissue repair and wound *** this study we produced mesoporous bioactive glass nanoparticles(MBGNs)based on the SiO2-CaO *** the intention of adding subsidiary biological function,MBGNs were doped with Zn2+***-MBGNs with 8 mol%ZnO content were synthesized via microemulsion assisted sol-gel *** synthesized particles were homogeneous in shape and *** exhibited spherical shape,good dispersity,and a size of 130±10 *** addition of zinc precursors did not affect the morphology of particles,while their specific surface area increased in comparison to *** presence of Zn2+ions inhibited the formation of hydroxycarbonate apatite(HCAp)on the particles after immersion in simulated body fluid(SBF).No formation of HCAp crystals on the surface of Zn-MBGNs could be observed after 14 days of ***,powders containing relatively high amount of zinc released Zn2+ions in low concentration(0.6-1.2 mg L^−1)but in a sustained *** releasing feature enables Zn-MBGNs to avoid potentially toxic levels of Zn2+ions,indeed Zn-MBGNs were seen to improve the differentiation of osteoblast-like cells(MG-63).Additionally,Zn-MBGNs showed higher ability to adsorb proteins in comparison to MBGNs,which could indicate a favourable later attachment of *** to their advantageous morphological and physiochemical properties,Zn-MBGNs show great potential as bioactive fillers or drug delivery systems in a variety of applications including bone regeneration and wound healing.

Let G = （V, E） be a finite, simple and undirected graph with p vertices and q edges. An （a, d）-vertex-antimagic total labeling of G is a bijection f from V（G） t2 E（G） onto the set of consecutive integers 1, 2,... ,p ＋ q, such that the vertex-weights form an arithmetic progression with the initial term a and difference d, where the vertex-weight of x is the sum of the value f（x） assigned to the vertex x together with all values f（xy） assigned to edges xy incident to x. Such labeling is called super if the smallest possible labels appear on the vertices. In this paper, we study the properties of such labelings and examine their existence for 2r-regular graphs when the difference d is 0, 1,..., r ＋ 1.

Catalytically active, stable, and mechanically durable solid K/Al 2 O 3 catalysts for the transesterification of rapeseed oil with methanol was studied. In a batch reactor, high catalytic activity was accompanied by leaching of K species, caused by glycerol, and mechanical destruction of the solid catalyst as a result of contact with the stirrer. In a fixed-bed reactor, some leaching of K species into the liquid phases was also observed, but approached 0 during 30 h of time-on-stream; the activity of the K/Al 2 O 3 catalyst (∼83% ester yield) was stable for 100 h of time-on-stream and no mechanical destruction of the catalyst was observed. The populations of K 2 O and K-O-Al species for fresh and used K/Al 2 O 3 catalysts were compared using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. It was found that some K 2 O species leached into the liquid phases at the beginning of the reaction.

Ni/Al2O3 catalysts for oxidative dehydrogenation(ODH) of ethane were prepared by impregnation of Al2O3 with nickel acetate or nickel nitrate,and by mechanical mixing of NiO and *** Ni-based catalysts were characterized by N2 adsorption-desorption,X-ray diffraction,diffuse reflectance UV-visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy,and temperature-programmed reduction of *** results showed that formation of crystalline NiO particles with a size of < 8 nm and/or non-stoichiometric NiO species in the Ni/Al2O3 catalysts led to more active species in ODH of ethane under the investigated reaction *** contrast,tetrahedral Ni species present in the catalysts led to higher selectivity for *** of large crystalline NiO particles(22-32 nm) over Ni/Al2O3 catalysts decreased the selectivity for ethene.

Ce:SrHfO_(3)陶瓷因具有高密度和高有效原子序数,对高能射线具有很强的阻止能力。同时,Ce:SrHfO_(3)陶瓷还具有快衰减和高能量分辨率等优异的闪烁性能,引起了研究人员的广泛关注。由于传统的烧结方法难以实现非立方结构Ce:SrHfO_(3)陶瓷的透明化,本研究采用真空长时烧结和短时真空预烧结合热等静压烧结(Hot Isostatic Pressing,HIP)方法制备Ce,Y:SrHfO_(3)陶瓷。以金属氧化物和碳酸盐为原料,1200℃下煅烧8 h可以获得平均粒径为152 nm的纯相Ce,Y:SrHfO_(3)粉体。1800℃真空烧结20 h获得平均晶粒尺寸为28.6μm的不透明的Ce,Y:SrHfO_(3)陶瓷,而两步烧结法可以制备光学透过率良好的Ce,Y:SrHfO_(3)陶瓷。本研究详细分析了陶瓷致密化过程中微结构的演变,探究了预烧结温度对Ce,Y:SrHfO_(3)陶瓷密度、显微结构和光学透过率的影响。真空预烧(1500℃×2 h)结合HIP后处理(1800℃×3 h,200 MPa Ar)所获得的Ce,Y:SrHfO_(3)陶瓷在800 nm处的最高直线透过率为21.6%,平均晶粒尺寸仅为3.4μm。在X射线激发下,Ce,Y:SrHfO_(3)陶瓷在400 nm处产生Ce3+5d-4f发射峰,其XEL积分强度比商用锗酸铋(BGO)晶体高3.3倍,Ce,Y:SrHfO_(3)陶瓷在1μs门宽下的光产额约为3700 ph/MeV。良好的光学和闪烁性能可以拓宽Ce,Y:SrHfO_(3)陶瓷在闪烁探测领域的应用。
