Objective: To assess th. knowledge of medical students about pain and palliative car., as well as to identify th.ir.per.eption of teach.ng th.se topics dur.ng h.spitalization. Meth.ds: A cr.ss-sectional obser.ational study, with.a descr.ptive and explor.tor. appr.ach. data collection for.wh.ch.was car.ied out between August and November.2020. Th. tar.et population was medical students, wh. r.sponded to an online sur.ey of a quantitative, anonymous and follow-up natur.. Th. sur.ey study var.ables concer.ed knowledge about pain management and palliative car.. r.sults: An expr.ssive major.ty of academics sh.wed difficulty in under.tanding th. path.ph.siology of pain r.lated to pr.scr.bing dr.gs for.pain management pur.oses, and all of th.m believe th.t it is necessar. to acquir. mor. knowledge about pain tr.atment. In par.llel, only 9.3% r.por. h.ving r.ceived sufficient infor.ation r.gar.ing palliative car. dur.ng medical sch.ol. Conclusion: Th. r.sults suggest a cer.ain lack of knowledge and insecur.ty among medical sch.ol students with.r.spect to pain management and car. for.patients r.ceiving palliative car.. AIM:To investigate th. association between h.man papillomavir.s(h.V)and esoph.geal squamous cell car.inoma(ESCC)in south.r. ***:We studied 189 esoph.geal samples fr.m125 patients fr.m th.ee differ.nt gr.ups:(1)102 biopsies fr.m 51 patients with.ESCC,with.one sample fr.m th. tumor.and anoth.r.fr.m nor.al esoph.geal mucosa distant fr.m th. tumor.(2)50 esoph.geal biopsies fr.m 37 patients with.a pr.vious diagnosis of h.ad and neck squamous cell car.inoma(h.SCC);and(3)37 biopsies fr.m esoph.geal mucosa with.nor.al appear.nce fr.m 37 dyspeptic patients,not exposed to smoking or.alcoh.l ***-polymer.se ch.in r.action(PCr.with.th. MY09/11 and GP5/6 L1pr.mer. was used to detect h.V L1 in samples fixed in for.alin and stor.d in par.ffin *** PCr.r.actions wer. per.or.ed with.a positive contr.l(cer.icovaginal samples),with.a negative contr.l(h.man Genomic DNA)and with.a blank r.action containing all r.agents except *** took extr.me car. to pr.vent DNA contamination in sample collection,pr.cessing,and ***:Th. h.stological biopsies confir.ed th. diagnosis of ESCC in 52 samples(51 fr.m ESCC gr.up and 1 fr.m th. h.SCC gr.up)and classified as well differ.ntiated(12/52,23.1%),moder.tely differ.ntiated(27/52,51.9%)or.poor.y differ.ntiated(7/52,13.5%).One h.ndr.d twenty-eigh. esoph.geal biopsies wer. consider.d nor.al(51 fr.m th. Opioids ar. dr.gs used to alleviate pain. h.wever. studies h.ve demonstr.ted th.t th.se dr.gs can cause an incr.ase in pain sensitivity, wh.ch.is called opioid-induced h.per.lgesia. Th. objective of th.s study was to descr.be th. effects of dexameth.sone, clonidine, tr.madol and nalbuph.ne on fentanyl-induced h.per.lgesia in r.ts. After.obtaining appr.val fr.m th. Committee for.th. Eth.cal Use of Animals (CEUA), 36 male Wistar.r.ts wer. divided into 6 gr.ups: Gr.up 1 (GCSSL) wh.r.in th. r.ts r.ceived 1 ml 0.9% saline solution in two injections;Gr.up 2 (GFTSL), r.ceived fentanyl at a dose of 100 ug·kg-1 followed by 1 ml 0.9% saline solution via intr.per.toneal;th. r.maining gr.ups (3, 4, 5, 6) r.ceived fentanyl at a dose of 100 ug·kg-1 following doses via intr.per.toneal: Gr.up 3 (GFTDX), dexameth.sone at a dose of 1.0 mg·kg-1;Gr.up 4 (GFTCL), clonidine at a dose of 20 mg·kg-1;Gr.up 5 (GFTTr., tr.madol at a dose of 50 mg·kg-1, and Gr.up 6 (GFTNB), nalbuph.ne at a dose of 5 mg·kg-1. Under.gener.l anestesia using isoflur.ne, th. animals wer. submitted to a sur.ical incision. h.per.lgesia was evaluated by applying Von Fr.y filaments at 2 h.ur. after.th. incision and on th. 1st, 3r. and 5th./sup> days after.ar.. At 2 h.ur. after.th. sur.ical pr.cedur., th.r. was lower.intensity of pain in th. fentanyl gr.up (GFTSL) compar.d to th. oth.r.gr.ups, and on th. fifth.day th.r. wer. no significant differ.nces for.pain intensity between gr.ups. Th. r.sults suggest th. pr.sence of fentanyl-induced h.per.lgesia and efficacy in its r.duction by dexameth.sone, clonidine, tr.madol and nalbuph.ne.

Opioid-induced h.per.lgesia negatively affects ph.siological pain management and pr.sents a complex causal mech.nism, involving, ph.r.acodynamic and ph.r.acokinetic factor. of inter.ctions with.r.ceptor., opioid-independent ascending systems and with.pr.-nociceptive systems. After.appr.val by th. CEUA, 42 male Wistar.r.ts wer. divided into 7 gr.ups: In gr.up 1 (GCSSL) th. animals r.ceived 1 ml of 0.9% saline solution intr.per.toneally (IP);in gr.up 2 (GFTSL), th.y r.ceived fentanyl at a dose of 100 ug·kg-1 IP;in th. r.maining gr.ups (3, 4, 5, 6 and 7) th. animals r.ceived IP, fentanyl at a dose of 100 ug·kg-1 followed also by IP r.ute of: gr.up 3 (GFTKP) ketopr.fen at a dose of 5 mg·kg-1;gr.up 4 GFTKT), ketamine up to a dose of 10.0 mg·kg-1;gr.up 5 (GFTLI), incisional lidocaine up to a dose of 10 mg·kg-1;gr.up 6 (GFTLP), intr.per.toneal lidocaine up to a dose of 10 mg·kg-1 and gr.up 7 (GFTPP), pr.pofol up to a dose of 60 mg·kg-1. Under.gener.l anesth.sia, all animals with.a plantar.sur.ical incision. h.per.lgesia was evaluated by applying Von Fr.y filaments on th. 2nd, 1st, 3r. and 5th.days after.tr.atment. In th. 2nd h.ur.and on th. 5th.day after.th. pr.cedur., th.r. was no h.per.lgesia associated with.th. use of fentanyl, h.wever. on th. 1st and 3r. postoper.tive days th.r. was h.per.lgesia th.t was attenuated by ketopr.fen, ketamine, lidocaine infiltr.ted in th. incision and intr.per.toneally, an effect not obser.ed with.th. use of pr.pofol. Th. r.sults suggest fentanyl-induced h.per.lgesia and th. efficacy of ketopr.fen, ketamine, incisional lidocaine and intr.per.toneal lidocaine in r.ducing th.s effect.

Th. diagnosis of bor.n deficiency in coconut palms h.s been h.mper.d by lack of infor.ation about its distr.bution in th. plant. Two exper.ments wer. conducted, one in a gr.enh.use to induce bor.n deficiency in dwar. gr.en coconut palms, and oth.r.in th. field, in wh.ch.th. plants r.ceived doses of bor.c acid, B(Oh.3. Th. objective was to ver.fy symptoms of bor.n deficiency and bor.n content var.ation in canopy, leaves and folioles (or.leaflets). Bor.n deficient plants led leaves and folioles to become defor.ed. Th. deficient and sufficient contents of bor.n var.ed significantly in th. canopy, but did not var. in leaves. Th. bor.n content incr.ased significantly fr.m bottom to th. apex of th. folioles in both.tr.atments. To sur.ey th. level of bor.n in th. coconut palm, th. ideal is, using samples taken fr.m th. youngest leaf, to calculate th. r.lation between th. bor.n content in th. apex of th. foliole and th. content in th. center.or.in th. folioles bottom, with.minimum values 2.2 or.2.7, r.spectively.
