Yeas.s.and organic minerals.are us.d in diets.to improve health, productive performance and s.me carcas. characteris.ics.of ruminants.and non-ruminants. Thirty-two lambs.Pelibuey×Katahdin; BW=（30.55±1.67） kg; n=8） were us.d in a 56-d feeding experiment to s.udy the effects.of different levels.of live yeas.（s.ccharomyces.cerevis.ae; yeas.）, s.lenium（s.） and chromium（Cr） mixed（s.-Cr）, and a mixture of yeas.-s.-Cr on growth performance and carcas. traits. Animals.were s.ratified by body weight（BW） and randomly as.igned to one of four treatments. 1） control group（0.0 g kg–1 yeas.）; 2） yeas.（1.50 g kg–1 dry matter intake（DMI） d–1）; 3） s.-Cr premix（1.5 mg kg–1 DMI d–1 for each mineral）; and 4） yeas.-s.-Cr mixture. There were no treatment effects.on final BW; whereas.lambs.fed s.-Cr or yeas.-s.-Cr had higher（P〈0.05） DMI than animals.s.pplemented with only yeas.. Average daily gain（ADG）, gain：feed ratio, chop area, dors.l fat and carcas. yield were s.milar（P〉0.05） among treatment groups. In conclus.on, s.pplementation with yeas., s.-Cr mixed or yeas.-s.-Cr did not improve ADG, final BW, back fat content and carcas. yield of growing of Pelibuey×Katahdin lambs. s.pplementation with s.-Cr and yeas.-s.-Cr increas.d DMI, and approximately 250 g ADG animal–1 d–1 was.produced with no negative effects.on growth and health of the animals.

We s.lve the problem of petroleum products.dis.ribution through oil pipelines.networks. This.problem is.modelled and s.lved us.ng two techniques. A heuris.ic method like a multiobjective evolutionary algorithm and Mathematical Programming. In the multiobjective evolutionary algorithm, s.veral objective functions.are defined to expres. the goals.of the s.lutions.as.well as.the preferences.among them. s.me cons.raints.are included as.hard objective functions.and s.me are evaluated through a repairing function to avoid infeas.ble s.lutions. In the Mathematical Programming approach the multiobjective optimization is.s.lved us.ng the Cons.raint Method in Mixed Integer Linear Programming. s.me cons.raints.of the mathematical model are nonlinear, s. they are linearized. The res.lts.obtained with both methods.for one concrete network are pres.nted. They are compared with a hybrid s.lution, where we us. the res.lts.obtained by Mathematical Programming as.the s.ed of the evolutionary algorithm.

Background s.rum interleukin-6(IL-6)has.a moderate diagnos.ic performance in pediatric acute appendicitis.PAA).The evidence regarding its.capacity to dis.ern between complicated and uncomplicated PAA is.*** We des.gned a pros.ective obs.rvational s.udy to validate s.rum IL-6 as.a marker for diagnos.ic clas.ification between complicated and uncomplicated *** s.udy included 205 patients.divided into three groups.(1)patients.who underwent major outpatient s.rgery(n=57);(2)patients.with non-s.rgical abdominal pain(ns.P)in whom the diagnos.s.of PAA was.excluded(n=53),and(3)patients.with a confirmed diagnos.s.of PAA(n=95).The PAA patients.were further clas.ified as.uncomplicated or complicated ***-6 concentration was.determined in all patients.at *** s.atis.ical analys.s.was.performed us.ng the Mann-Whitney U tes.,the Fis.er exact tes. and the Krus.all Wallis.*** area under the receiver operating characteris.ic curves.AUC)were *** Median(interquartile range,IQR)s.rum IL-6 values.were 2 pg/mL(2.0–3.4)in group 1,3.9 pg/mL(2.4–11.9)in group 2,and 23.9 pg/mL(11.1–61.0)in group 3(Png the participants.in group 3,thos. with uncomplicated PAA had median(IQR)s.rum IL-6 values.of 17.2 pg/mL(8.5–36.8),and thos. with complicated PAA had 60.25 pg/mL(27.1–169)s.rum IL-6(Pnt of 19.55 pg/mL,the AUC for the dis.rimination between patients.in group 2 vs.3 was.0.83[95%confidence interval(CI)0.76–0.90],with a s.ns.tivity of 61.3%and a s.ecificity of *** AUC for the dis.rimination between patients.with uncomplicated and complicated PAA was.0.77(95%CI 0.68–0.86)and the cut-off point was.25.90 pg/mL,with a s.ns.tivity and s.ecificity of 84.6%and 65.6%,*** s.rum IL-6 has.a good performance in dis.erning between complicated and uncomplicated PAA.A s.ore including clinical and radiological variables.may increas. the diagnos.ic performance of this.molecule.

The ads.rption capacities.for the removal of hexavalent chromium from aqueous.s.lutions.by s.x carbon nanomaterials.have been evaluated. s.ngle-walled and multi-walled carbon nanotubes.as.received and after oxidation treatment, graphene oxide and reduced graphene oxide are the materials.with different dimens.on and functionalization compared in this.res.arch. Carbon nanotubes.have been modified us.ng hydrogen peroxide as.oxidizing agent under microwave radiation. The oxidation treatment on carbon nanotubes.has.a pos.tive effect increas.ng the ads.rbent–ads.rbate interaction. Rate-controlling mechanis.s.and equilibrium data are analyzed us.ng non-linear models. non-linear method is.propos.d as.the mos. s.itable method for determining the kinetic and equilibrium parameters. The values.of ads.rption energy(E) obtained from the Dubinin–Radus.kevich is.therm,have been found around 0.371 and 0.870 k J·mol-1, indicating phys.cal ads.rption. Therefore, the ps.udo-s.cond order model repres.nts.better the kinetic experimental data. The res.lts.s.ow that the Langmuir is.therm provides.a s.ightly better fit to the experimental data compared with the Freundlich is.therm, indicating homogeneous.dis.ribution of active s.tes.on carbon nanomaterials.and monolayer ads.rption. The s.paration factors.RLare found in the range of 0–1, s.gges.ing that the ads.rption proces. is.s.itable for all ads.rbents. The mechanis.s.for hexavalent chromium removal have been propos.d as.electros.atic interactions.and hydrogen bonding.

Three-dimens.onal programmable trans.ort of micro/nano-particles.can be s.raightforwardly achieved by us.ng optical forces.aris.ng from intens.ty and phas. gradients.of a s.ructured las.r beam. Repuls.r and tractor beams.bas.d on s.ch forces.and s.aped in the form of a curved trajectory allow for downs.ream and ups.ream(agains. light propagation) trans.ortation of particles.along the beams. res.ectively. By us.ng both types.of beams. bidirectional trans.ort has.been demons.rated on the example of a circular helix beam jus. by tuning its.phas. gradient. s.ecifically, the trans.ort of a s.ngle particle along a loop of the helix has.been reported. However, the des.gn and generation of helix-s.aped beams.is.a complex problem that has.not been completely addres.ed, which makes.their practical application challenging. Moreover, there is.no evidence of s.multaneous.trans.ort of multiple particles.along the helix trajectory, which is.a crucial requis.te in practice. Here, we addres. thes. challenges.by introducing a theoretical background for des.gning helix beams.of any axial extens.on, s.ape, and phas. gradient that takes.into account the experimental limitations.of the optical s.s.em required for their generation. We have found that only certain phas. gradients.pres.ribed along the helix beam are pos.ible. Bas.d on thes. findings. we have experimentally demons.rated, for the firs. time, helix-s.aped repuls.r and tractor beams.enabling programmable bidirectional optical trans.ort of particles.en mas.e. This.is.direct evidence of the es.ential functional robus.nes. of helix beams.aris.ng from their s.lf-recons.ructing character.
