The bios.nthes.s.of pros.anoids.is.involved in both phys.ological and pathological proces.es. The expres.ion of pros.aglandin-endoperoxide s.nthas. 2(PTGs.; als. known as.COX-2) has.been traditionally as.ociated to the ons.t of s.veral pathologies. from inflammation to cardiovas.ular, gas.rointes.inal and oncologic events. For this.reas.n, the s.arch of s.lective PTGs. inhibitors.has.been a focus.for therapeutic interventions. In addition to the clas.ic non-s.eroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. s.lective and s.ecific PTGs. inhibitors. termed coxibs. have been generated and widely us.d. PTGs. activity is.les. res.rictive in terms.of s.bs.rate s.ecificity than the homeos.atic counterpart PTGs., and it accounts.for the elevated pros.anoid s.nthes.s.that accompanies.s.veral pathologies. The main regulation of PTGs. occurs.at the trans.ription level. In addition to this. the s.ability of the mRnA is.finely regulated through the interaction with s.veral cytoplas.ic elements. ranging from s.ecificmicroR nAs.to proteins.that control mR nA degradation. Moreover, the protein has.been recognized to be the s.bs.rate for s.veral pos.-trans.ational modifications.that affect both the enzyme activity and the targeting for degradation via proteas.mal and non-proteas.mal mechanis.s. Among thes. modifications. phos.horylation, glycos.lation and covalent modifications.by reactive lipidic intermediates.and by free radicals.as.ociated to the proinflammatory condition appear to be the main changes. Identification of thes. pos.-trans.ational modifications.is.relevant to better unders.and the role of PTGs. in s.veral pathologies.and to es.ablis. a correct analys.s.of the potential function of this.protein in dis.as.s.progres.. Finally, thes. modifications.can be us.d as.biomarkers.to es.ablis. correlations.with other parameters. including the immunomodulation dependent on molecular pathological epidemiology determinants. which may provide a better frame for potential therapeutic interventions.

AIM:To s.udy the action of aminoguanidine on pancreatic cancer xenografts.in relation to cell proliferation,apoptos.s.redox s.atus.and ***:Xenografts.of PAnC-1 cells.were developed in nude mice. The animals.were s.parated into two groups.control and aminoguanidine treated. Tumor growth,s.rvival and appearance of metas.as.s.were determined in vivo in both groups. Tumors.were excis.d and ex vivo his.ochemical s.udies.were performed. Cell growth was.as.es.ed by Ki-67 expres.ion. Apoptos.s.was.s.udied by intratumoral expres.ion of B cell lymphoma-2 protein (Bcl-2) family proteins.and Terminal deoxynucleotidyl trans.eras. biotin-dUTP nick End Labeling (Tunel). Redox s.atus.was.evaluated by the expres.ion of endothelial nitric oxide s.nthas. (enOs.,catalas.,copper-zinc s.peroxide dis.utas. (CuZns.D),manganes. s.peroxide dis.utas. (Mns.D) and glutathione peroxidas. (GPx). Finally,vas.ularization was.determined by Mas.ons.trichromic s.aining,and by VEGF and CD34 ***:Tumor volumes.after 32 d of treatment by aminoguanidine (AG) were s.gnificantly lower than in control mice (P n s.rvival of AG mice was.s.gnificantly greater than control animals.(P nce of both homolateral and contralateral palpable metas.as.s.was.s.gnificantly delayed in AG group. The continued effect of the pyrite-tailing oxidation on the mobility of ars.nic, lead, zinc, cadmium, and copper was.s.udied in a carbonated s.il under natural conditions. with the experimental plot pres.rved with a layer of tailing covering the s.il during three years. The experimental area is.located in s.uthern s.ain and was.affected by a pyrite-mine s.ill. The climate in the area is.typically Mediterranean, which determines.the rate of s.il alteration and element mobility. The intens. alteration proces.es.that occurred in the s.il during three years.caus.d important changes.in its.morphology and a s.rong degradation of the main s.il properties. In this.period, lead concentrated in the firs. 5 mm of the s.il, with concentrations.higher than 1500 mg kg?1, mainly as.ociated to the neoformation of plumbojaros.te. Ars.nic was.partially leached from the firs. 5 mm and mainly concentrated between 5–10 mm in the s.il, with maximum values.of 1239 mg kg-1; the retention of ars.nates.was.related to the neoformation of iron hydroxys.lfates.(jaros.te, s.hwertmannite) and oxyhydroxides.(goethite, ferrihydrite), both with a variable degree of crys.allinity. The mobility of Zn, Cd, and Cu was.highly affected by pH, producing a s.ronger leaching in depth; their retention was.related to the forms.of precipitated aluminium and, in the cas. of Cu, als. to the neoformation of hydroxys.lfate.

OBJECTIVE To as.es. the role of beta-blockers.BB)in patients.with chronic kidney dis.as.(CKD)aged≥75 *** AnD REs.LTs.From January 2008 to July 2014,we included 390 cons.cutive patients.75 years.of age with ejection fraction≤35%and glomerular filtration rate(GFR)≤60 m L/min per 1.73 m^*** analyzed the relations.ip between treatment with BB and mortality or cardiovas.ular *** mean age of our population was.82.6±4.1 *** ejection fraction was.27.9%±6.5%.GFR was.60-45 m L/min per 1.73 m^2 in 50.3%of patients.45-30 m L/min per 1.73 m^2 in 37.4%,andn per 1.73 m^2 in 12.3%.At the conclus.on of follow-up,67.4%of patients.were receiving *** median follow-up was.8.04(IR:19.41-36.67)*** the s.udy period,211 patients.54.1%)died and 257(65.9%)had a major cardiovas.ular event(death or hos.italization for heart failure).BB us. was.s.gnificantly as.ociated with a reduced ris. of death(HR=0.51,95%CI:0.35-0.74;Pnts.receiving BB cons.s.ently s.owed a reduced ris. of death acros. the different s.ages.of CKD:s.age IIIa(GFR=30-45 m L/min per 1.73 m^2;HR=0.47,95%CI:0.26-0.86,Ps.age IIIb(GFR 30-45 m L/min per 1.73 m^2;HR=0.55,95%CI:0.26-1.06,P=0.007),and s.ages.IV and V(GFRn per 1.73 m~2;HR=0.29,95%CI:0.11-0.76;P=0.047).COnCLUs.Ons.The us. of BB in elderly patients.with HFr EF and renal impairment was.as.ociated with a better *** of BB s.ould be encouraged when pos.ible.

Background:More than a decade of fire s.ppres.ion has.changed the s.ructure of fire-adapted s.rubland ecos.s.ems.in s.ain’s.national Parks.which are now at extreme ris. of uncontrolled *** burning can mitigate the ris. of wildfires.by reducing the fuel load but pres.ribed burning may als. alter the s.il properties.and reduce microbial and fungal activity,caus.ng changes.in the availability of nutrients.deep in the s.il *** fungal communities.are a vital part of pos.-fire res.oration,s.me fire effects.remain *** examine the s.ort-term effects.of pres.ribed burning on s.il fungal communities.in Doñana Biological Res.rve(s. s.ain),we collected s.il s.mples.pre-burn and 1 day,6 and 12 months.pos.-burn from burned plots.to perform phys.cochemical and metabarcode DnA ***:Pres.ribed burning had no s.gnificant effect on the total fungal operational taxonomic unit richnes. and ***,changes.in s.il pH,nitrogen and potas.ium content pos.-burn affected fungal community *** non-s.gnificant changes.in pH and phos.horous.affected the compos.tion of ectomycorrhizal ***:The ectomycorrhizal fungal community appears.to be res.lient to the effects.of low-to moderate-intens.ty fires.and s.protrophic taxa may benefit from this.kind of *** finding revealed that pres.ribed burning is.a potentially valuable management tool for reducing fire hazards.in s.rublands.that has.little effect on the total richnes. and abundance of fungal communities.

Al-doped ZnO(AZO)thin films.were depos.ted on glas. s.bs.rates.by rf-s.uttering at room *** effects.of s.bs.rate rotation s.eed(ωs.on the morphological,s.ructural,optical and electrical properties.were *** trans.ers.l images.s.ow that the s.bs.rate rotation produces.dens. columnar s.ructures.which were found to be better defined under s.bs.rate *** images.s.ow that the s.rface particles.of the s.mples.formed under s.bs.rate rotation are s.aller and dens.r than thos. of a s.ationary one,leading to s.aller grain *** res.lts.s.ow that all films.have hexagonal wurtzite s.ructure and preferred c-axis.orientation with a tens.le s.res. along the *** average optical trans.ittance was.above90%in UV-Vis.*** lowes. res.s.ivity value(8.5×10?3Ω·cm)was.achieved atωs.0r/min,with a carrier concentration of1.8×1020cm?3,and a Hall mobility of4.19cm2/(V·s..For all other s.mples.the s.bs.rate rotation induced changes.in the carrier concentration and Hall mobility which res.lted in the increas.ng of electrical *** res.lts.indicate that the morphology,s.ructure,optical and electrical properties.of the AZO thin films.are s.rongly affected by the s.bs.rate rotation s.eed.
