AIM: To assess the efficacy of hemoclip application in combination with epinephrine injection in the treatment of bleeding peptic ulcers and to compare the clinical outcomes between patients treated with such a combination therapy and those treated with epinephrine injection ***: A total of 293 patients (211 males, 82females) underwent endoscopic therapy for bleeding peptic ulcers. Of these, 202 patients (152 males, 50females) received epinephrine injection therapy while 91patients (59 males, 32 females) received combination therapy. The choice of endoscopic therapy was made by the endoscopist. Hemostatic rates, rebleeding rates, need for emergency surgery and 30-d mortality were the outcome measures ***: Patients who received combination therapy were significantly older (mean age 66±16 years, range24-90 years) and more suffered from chronic renal failure compared to those who received epinephrine injection therapy alone (mean age 61±17 years, range 21-89 years).Failure to achieve permanent hemostasis was 4% in the group who received epinephrine injection alone and 11%in the group who received combination therapy. When the differences in age and renal function between the two treatment groups were taken into account by multivariate analysis, the rates of initial hemostasis,rebleeding rates, need for surgery and 30-d mortality for both treatment options were not significantly ***: Combination therapy of epinephrine injection with endoscopic hemoclip application is an effective method of achieving hemostasis in bleeding peptic ulcer diseases. However, superiority of combination therapy over epinephrine injection alone, could not be demonstrated.

This paper aims to develop a power penalty method for a linear parabolic variational inequality （VI） in two spatial dimensions governing the two-asset American option valuation. This method yields a two-dimensional nonlinear parabolic PDE containing a power penalty term with penalty constant λ〉 1 and a power parameter k 〉 0. We show that the nonlinear PDE is uniquely solvable and the solution of the PDE converges to that of the VI at the rate of order O（λ^-k/2）. A fitted finite volume method is designed to solve the nonlinear PDE, and some numerical experiments are performed to illustrate the usefulness of this method.

Objective:To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of seven oral Chinese patent medicines(CPMs)as adjuvant therapy for cancer-related anemia(CRA)by network meta-analysis(NMA).Methods:A literature search to obtain randomized controlled trials(RCTs)of seven oral CPMs in the adjuvant treatment of CRA was conducted in multiple databases from the inception to April *** RevMan5.3 and R 4.1.1 software were used for ***:We ultimately included 29 RCTs with 2140 *** meta-analysis showed that Fufang E'jiao syrup(FFEJS),Shengxuebao mixture(SXBM),Shengxuening tablets(SXNT),Jianpi Shengxue granules(JPSXG),and Yixuesheng capsule(YXSC)combined with basic Western treatment(BWT)could improve the hemoglobin(HGB)*** combined with BWT could improve the red blood cell(RBC).FFEJS combined with BWT improved the Karnofsky performance status(KPS).NMA showed that FFEJS,JPSXG,SXBM,and SXNT plus BWT improved HGB better than Shengxue tablets(SXT)plus BWT,with top three ranking results being JPSXG plus BWT>SXNT plus BWT>FFEJS plus *** plus BWT,JPSXG plus BWT,SXBM plus BWT,SXNT plus BWT,and SXT plus BWT improved RBC better than BWT,with top three ranking results being SXNT plus BWT>JPSXG plus BWT>FFEJS plus *** terms of the KPS score,compared with SXT plus BWT,FFEJS,JPSXG,SXBM,SXNT,and Yizhong Shengxue capsule(YZSXC)plus BWT had higher KPS,with top three ranking results being SXBM plus BWT>JPSXG plus BWT>FFEJS plus ***:Our NMA demonstrated that seven oral CPMs used as adjuvant treatment of CRA had a definite clinical *** not only increases the levels of HGB and RBC to enhance the clinical effect but also improves patients'quality of *** accurate conclusions need to be verified by more high-quality RCTs.

We develop a game theoretic framework for effective and adaptive inter-cell interference management in the OFDMA-based WiMAX/3GPP-LTE *** approach requires no fixed spectrum planning beforehand and does not affect the spectrum usage for users that are not subject to inter-cell *** on the handoff mechanisms in WiMAX systems,we also examine means of categorizing users who are,or are not,subject to potential *** optimization opportunities for BSs are identified and *** interactions between BSs are modeled by a Stackelberg game in which BSs can make intelligent and rational decisions to reduce interference with minimum optimization *** algorithm to attain stable Nash Equilibrium is investigated and the behaviors of BSs with different preferences in the game are examined.
