Collagen is a major extracellular matrix *** the potential anti-inflammatory and antioxidant profiles of these bioactive compounds,there has been increasing interest in using collagen derived peptides and peptide-rich collagen hydrolysates for skin health,due to their immunomodulatory,antioxidant and proliferative effects on dermal ***,all hydrolysates are not equally effective in exerting the beneficial effects;hence,further research is needed to determine the factors that improve the therapeutic applicability of such *** used different enzymatic conditions to generate a number of different collagen hydrolysates with distinct peptide *** found that the use of two rather than one enzyme for hydrolysis generates a greater abundance of low molecular weight peptides with consequent improvement in bioactive *** these hydrolysates on human dermal fibroblasts showed distinct actions on inflammatory changes,oxidative stress,type I collagen synthesis and cellular *** findings suggest that different enzymatic conditions affect the peptide profile of hydrolysates and differentially regulate their biological activities and potential protective responses on dermal fibroblasts.

Apomictic seed development is a complex process including formation of unreduced embryo sac,parthenogenetic embryo development from the egg cell,and endosperm formation either autonomously,or due to fertilization of polar nuclei by the sperm(under pseudogamous form of apomixis).In the latter case,an obstacle to the normal endosperm development is disturbance of maternal(m)-to-paternal(p)genomic ratio 2m:1p that occurs in the cases of pollination of unreduced embryo sac with haploid *** of tetraploid pollinators can overcome this problem because in such crosses maternal-to-paternal genomic ratio is 4m:2p that provides formation of kernels with plump *** tetraploid lines as pollen parents we observed formation of plump kernels on the ears and panicles of diploid maize and sorghum *** kernels had hybrid endosperm and diploid maternal-type embryo or hybrid embryo with different ploidy level(2n,3n,4n).The frequencies of plump kernels on the ear ranged from 0.2-0.3%to 5.7-6.2%counting from the number of ***-type plants were found in two maize lines,their frequency varying from 10.7 to 37.5%of the progeny *** CMS-lines of sorghum pollinated with tetraploid sorghum accessions,the frequency of plump kernels ranged from 0.6 to 14.0%counting from the number of ovaries;the frequency of maternal-type plants varied from 33.0 up to 96.1%.The hybrid nature of endosperm of the kernels that gave rise to maternal-type plants has been proved by marker gene expression and by SDS-electrophoresis of endosperm *** data testify to variable modes of seed formation under diploid×tetraploid crosses in maize and sorghum both by amphi-and by ***,usage of tetraploid pollinators might be a promising approach for isolation of apomixis in maize and sorghum accessions.

The focus of the research work presented in this article is the design of an industrial plant devoted to produce different types of hazelnuts-based *** industrial plant design is initially based on a traditional approach(production process flow charts analysis and plant layout study)and it is then supported by a simulation model mainly used to investigate the system behavior in different operative *** industrial plant simulation model(called HAZIMUT,HAZelnuts Industrial plant design and man-agement based on advanced simulation Models Utilization)recreates the entire hazelnuts production process(based on nine different production lines).The HAZIMUT simulation model is used to evaluate the effects—caused by multiple changes in the production lines capacities—on multiple performance measures based on machines levels utilization,work in process and production system *** simulation results show how variations in production lines capacities generate an over-reaction of the system with major changes in some of the performance measures therefore stressing the importance to use the HAZIMUT simulator to tune the system correctly to improve the overall plant performances.

A lion-like pantherine felid is described as Panthera(Leo)fossilis from the late Early Pleistocene sediments of the Kuznetsk Basin(Western Siberia,Russia).The find of *** first recorded in Asia considerably extends the current notion of the eastward expansion of the most ancient *** Siberian lion is geologically the oldest form and is dimensionally among the largest members of the group of fossil lions on the Eurasian conti*** known by mandibular remains only,it is readily distinguished from Panthera(Leo)spelaea by a heavy built mandibular corpus with rectangular profile in the cheek teeth area,a deep,well-outlined and narrow anterior section of the masseteric fossa,and a largeр4 supported by a big unreduced anterior *** Siberian lion shares these features with the European Middle Pleistocene *** and the American Late Pleistocene P.(Leo)atrox,which suggests their close *** originated from *** and was isolated in North America south of the Late Pleistocene ice *** explains why the American lion has retained more primitive features than the coeval Eurasian cave lion P.(L.)spelaea.

Despite an increase in spectrum of industrial applications of yttrium （Y） and the fact that it is widely present in the soils and plants, some of which are agronomically important crops, its effects on plant growth and metabolism are still obscure. Therefore, the aim of this work was to examine the effect of different concentrations of Y on its accumulation and distribution, photosynthetic responses, water relations, free proline concentration and growth of young maize plants. The experiment was done with maize （Zea mays L., hybrid NS-640）, in water cultures, under semi-controlled conditions of a greenhouse. Plants were supplied with half-strength complete Hoagland nutrient solution, to which was added either 0 （control）, 10-5, 10-4 or 10-3 mol/L Y, in the form of Y（NO）3·5H2O. Each variant was set in thirteen replications, with six plants in each replication. Plants were grown for 21 d and they were at the stage of 3 and 4 leaves when they were analyzed. The presence of Y reduced maize growth and photosynthetic performance. Dimensions of stomata significantly decreased while their density significantly increased on both adaxial and abaxial epidermis. Plant height, root length, total leaf area and dry mass also declined. Concentration of photosynthetic pigments （chl a and b and carotenoids） and free proline decreased. Photosynthesis and transpiration were impaired in the presence of Y-their intensities were also reduced, and the same stands for stomatal conductance of water vapor, photosynthetic water use efficiency （WUE） and water content. Although the highest concentration of Y was found in maize roots in each treatment, Y concentration in the second leaf and shoot also significantly increased with an increase in Y concentration in the nutrient solution. Albeit Y concentration was much higher in roots than in shoots, shoot metabolism and growth were much more disrupted. Organosilicas with chemically immobilized 3-aminopropyl and Methyl Red-containing surface groups were prepared by sol-gel condensation of tetraethyl orthosilicate and(3-aminopropyl)triethoxysilane in the presence of dye as part of the mixed micelles or dyecontaining silane as silica *** hexagonally arranged mesoporous structure of synthesized materials was confirmed by low-temperature nitrogen adsorption-desorption,xray diffraction,and TEM *** composition of MCM-41-type organosilicas was established by FT-IR spectroscopy and chemical analysis of surface *** of Methyl Red by organosilicas was studied from diluted phosphate buffer solutions in dependence of medium p H,duration of contact,and equilibrium concentration of *** was found that effective removal of Methyl Red takes place at p H values within a range of *** curves of Methyl Red sorption on organosilicas were analyzed by the Lagergren,Ho-McKey,and Weber-Morris kinetic *** was found that the pseudo-second-order model fits the kinetics of Methyl Red sorption on all synthesized materials and the intraparticle diffusion is not the only one mechanism controlling the rate of Methyl Red sorptive *** parameters of equilibrium sorption of Methyl Red on organosilicas of MCM-41 type were calculated using Langmuir,Freundlich,Redlich-Peterson,and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller *** of acid dyes with geometry similar or substantially different from Methyl Red on mesoporous silicas was studied from single and binary component mixtures in aqueous solutions with p H 4.8 and *** was found that selective sorption process is highly dependent on the structural characteristics and protolytic state of silica surface as well as acid dye.
