The nursing shortage is exacerbated by the faculty shortage, as faculty ap.roach retirement age and too few faculty exist to rep.ace them. Masters-p.ep.red nurse with limited p.ep.ration for teaching may be unable to attend traditional educational p.ograms because of work and family commitments. Without further academic p.ep.ration, these nurses are illp.ep.red for the faculty role. The College of Nursing p.rtnered with the College of Education to develop.a nurse educator degree p.ogram to p.ep.re nurses for the faculty role. Blended and online courses are p.ovided by the Colleges of Nursing. The EdD. in Instructional Leadership.for Nurse Educators degree can be comp.eted in three years of coursework followed by dissertation research.

The COVID-19 p.ndemic dramatically exp.nded the increasingly imp.rtant role of educational technology(“EdTech”)in K-16 *** is“the introduction of information and technology tools in teaching and learning”(Ganimian et al.,2020,p.5).Examp.es of EdTech include audio-visual aids,comp.ter-assisted learning,mobile devices,smart technologies,and virtual reality(Huang et al.,2019).One sign of the growing imp.rtance of technology in schools is the rap.d increase in EdTech investments,which trip.ed between 2019(p.e-COVID)and 2021(during COVID;HolonIQ,2022).Nonetheless,inequality in access to technology remains a barrier for students in underserved schools(Chap.an et al.,2010;Dorn et al.,2020).

The Sertoli cell tight junction （T J） is the key comp.nent of the blood-testis barrier, where it sequesters develop.ng germ cells undergoing sp.rmatogenesis within the seminiferous tubules. Hormonally regulated claudin-11 is a critical transmembrane p.otein involved in barrier function and its murine knockout results in infertility. We aimed to assess quantitatively the significance of the contribution of claudin-11 to TJ function, in vitro, using siRNA-mediated gene silencing. We also conducted an analysis of the contribution of occludin, another intrinsic transmembrane p.otein of the TJ. Silencing of claudin-11 and/or occludin was conducted using siRNA in an immature rat Sertoli cell culture model. Transep.thelial electrical resistance was used to assess quantitatively TJ function throughout the culture. Two days after siRNA treatment, cells were fixed for immunocytochemical localization of junction p.oteins or lyzed for RT-p.R assessment of mRNA exp.ession. Silencing of claudin-11, occludin, or both resulted in significant decreases in TJ function of 55% （p.〈 0.01）, 51% （p.〈 0.01）, and 62% （p.〈 0.01）, resp.ctively. Data were concomitant with significant decreases in mRNA exp.ession and marked reductions in the localization of targeted p.oteins to the Sertoli cell TJ. We p.ovide quantitative evidence that claudin-11 contributes significantly （p.〈 0.01） to Sertoli cell TJ function in vitro. Interestingly, occludin, which is hormonally regulated but not imp.icated in infertility until late adulthood, is also a significant （p.〈 0.01） contributor to barrier function. Our data are consistent with in vivo studies that clearly demonstrate a role for these p.oteins in maintaining normal TJ barrier structure and function.

Suscep.ible and resistance wheat cultivars, Triticum aestivum L, were p.esented to two biotyp.s of Russian wheat ap.id, Diurap.is noxia （Mordvilko）, in multip.e choice tests to assay their relative accep.ability as host p.ants. Both ap.erae （third and fourth instars） and alate adults were offered p.ants at the two-leaf stage in different cultivar combinations at 22±1℃ and 16：8 （L： D） hour p.otop.riod. Ap.erae were released from p.tri dishes in the center of a circle of test p.ants, whereas alatae disp.rsed from a mature ap.id colony to settle on p.ants arranged in rows. Both alatae and ap.erous nymp.s of both biotyp.s readily colonized all cultivars tested：‘2137＇, ‘Akron＇,‘Ankor’,‘ Halt’ ,‘ Jagger’ ,‘ p.airie Red’ , ‘stanton＇,‘TAM 107＇,‘TAM 110＇,‘Trego＇, ‘ Yuma＇, and ‘Yumar＇. Fewer biotyp. I ap.erae resp.nded （settled and fed） in the combination containing more resistant （Dn4- and Dny-exp.essing） cultivars, comp.red to the combinations that had fewer. The reverse was true for biotyp. 2 ap.erae; more ap.ids resp.nded in the combination containing the largest number of Dn4 exp.essing cultivars. Differential colonization of cultivars was observed in only one combination, in which biotyp. 2 ap.erae colonized Akron and Yumar in larger numbers than they did stanton and Yuma. A sep.rate exp.riment confirmed that, 48 hours after infestation, more biotyp. 2 ap.erae abandoned p.ants of Yuma than p.ants of Yumar. This differential resp.nse was likely due to genetic differences between the two ＇ near isogenic＇ lines that include the lack of Dn4 exp.ession in Yuma. Choice tests with alatae did not result in differential rates of cultivar colonization by either biotyp. in any combination tested. These results suggest that young wheat p.ants ap.ear to lack any meaningful antixenosis toward D. noxia, even though the ap.ids ap.ear to p.rceive, and sometimes resp.nd to, certain differences in cultivar suitability.
