Effectiveness of an intervention for reducing social stigma towards mental illness in adolescents

AIM: To evaluate the effectiveness of an intervention for reducing social stigma towards mental illness in adolescents. The effect of gender and knowledge of someone with mental illness was measured. METHODS: Two hundred and eighty secondary school students were evaluated using the Community Attitudes towards Mental Illness(CAMI) questionnaire. The schools were randomized and some received the intervention and others acted as the control group. The programme consisted of providing information via a documentary film and of contact with healthcare staff in order to reduce the social stigma within the school environment. RESULTS: The intervention was effective in reducing the CAMI authoritarianism and social restrictiveness subscales. The intervention showed significant changes in girls in terms of authoritarianism and social restrictiveness, while boys only showed significant changes in authoritarianism. Following the intervention, a significant reduction was found in authoritarianism and social restrictiveness in those who knew someone with mental illness, and only in authoritarianism in those who did not know anyone with mental illness. CONCLUSION: The intervention was effective to reduce social stigma towards people with mental illness, especially in the area of authoritarianism. Some differences were found depending on gender and whether or not the subjects knew someone with mental illness.

Studies of thermodynamic, electric and magnetic properties were conducted on the （KxSr1-x）CrOz, x = 0.10, 0.15 and 0.50system; adjusted for different crystal sizes （polycrystalline, nano-crystalline and single crystals）. For polycrystals, a solid-statereaction method was used （room temperature, TR, up to 665 °C）. Nano-crystals, a crushing technique with a mechanical mortar wereprocessed at TR. Single crystals were acquired, through fusion method starting from polycrystals pre-manufactured （665 °C） over900 °C. For the methods described above, they all were worked at atmospheric pressure. Studying the thermodynamic in the crystalsmixture were obtained by TGA （thermogravimetric analysis） and DSC （differential scanning calorimetry）. Powder XRD （X-raydiffraction） in the manual grinding mixture a SrCO3 solid solution, at TR was detected. When increasing the temperature, a solidsolution of K2Sr（CrO4）2 is formed. By HRTEM （high-resolution transmission electronic microscope）, crystal sizes 4-12 nm were seen.（K0.50Sr0.50）CrOz composition presents a weak ferromagnetic and an insulating behavior.

In this White Paper we present the potential of the Enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry(eXTP) mission for determining the nature of dense matter; neutron star cores host an extreme density regime which cannot be replicated in a terrestrial laboratory. The tightest statistical constraints on the dense matter equation of state will come from pulse profile modelling of accretion-powered pulsars, burst oscillation sources, and rotation-powered pulsars. Additional constraints will derive from spin measurements, burst spectra, and properties of the accretion flows in the vicinity of the neutron star. Under development by an international Consortium led by the Institute of High Energy Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the eXTP mission is expected to be launched in the mid 2020 s.

This work shows the development of a module that performs measurements of electrical variables in a low voltage power *** variables are sent by means of the IEEE802.11 standard,connecting to a database stored in the cloud;associating with the meter IoT concepts,this to allow a client to perform an analysis,monitoring and management of their electrical *** the construction of this module,non-invasive current sensors connected to a three-phase meter are used and a communication card is used that allows data to be extracted from the meter and sent to the cloud *** module,to convert a conventional electrical power transformer into a smart electrical power transformer,making it a Smart Object and thus extract information from it telemetrically in real time.

背景目前尚不明确局部麻醉药浓度或药物总剂量是否是连续外周神经阻滞效果最主要的决定性因素。此前仅有一项关于胭窝坐骨神经阻滞的研究，该研究报道了使用高容量较低浓度罗哌卡因发生肢体感觉完全阻滞的概率远远高于低容量较高浓度罗哌卡因，但上述现象是否仅限于腘窝处的坐骨神经，或者说是否因解剖部位变化而异尚不清楚。因此，本研究的检验假设定为：在连续锁骨下臂丛阻滞中，以不同的浓度和速率注射总量相等的罗哌卡因，可以产生相似的阻滞效果。方法选择拟行肘关节远端、中等疼痛骨科手术患者，经喙突入路放置锁骨下臂丛阻滞导管。患者经随机分组确定手术后第2天应用罗哌卡因神经周围镇痛的方法：浓度0．2％组（背景剂量8ml／h，单次追加量4ml）或0．4％组（背景剂量4ml／h，单次追加量2ml）。两组患者每小时持续注入罗哌卡因的总量均为16mg，每30分钟可能还有患者自控的追加剂量8mg。主要观察指标为自手术后次日早晨开始的24小时内患侧肢体完全无感觉的发生率，次要观察指标是镇痛效果和患者的满意度。结果给予0．4％罗哌卡因（n=27）的患者发生肢体无感觉的平均次数（标准差）为1．8（1．6）次，而给予0．2％罗哌卡因（n=23）的患者为0．6（0．9），评估差异为1．2次，95％可信区间0．5～1．9次（P=0．001）。手术后镇痛满意度（评分0—10分，10分为最高分）在0．2％罗哌卡因组得分的中位数（25％～75％百分位数）为10．0分（8．0～10．0），0．4％罗哌卡因组为7．0分（5．3～8．9）。镇痛效果两组相近。结论在连续锁骨下神经阻滞时，除了注射局麻药物总量之外，药物的浓度和容量是另两种影响神经周围镇痛辫果的因素。容量偏小而浓度略高的罗哌卡因产生肢体完全无感觉的概率较高，这一结果与此前关于连续胭窝坐骨神经阻滞的研究结果相反。局麻药浓度与容量之间的关系相当复杂，且随置管部位的不同而异。

Esophageal adenocarcinoma is the most rapidly increas- ing cancer in western ***-grade dysplasia (HGD)arising from Barrett’s esophagus(BE)is the most important risk factor for its development,and when it is present the reported incidence is up to 10% per *** in the setting of BE develops through a well known histological sequence,from non-dysplastic Barrett’s to low grade dysplasia and then HGD and *** surveillance programs have been established to detect the presence of neo- plasia at a potentially curative *** developed endoscopic treatments have dramatically changed the therapeutic approach of *** neoplasia is confined to the mucosal layer the risk for developing lymph node metastasis is negligible and can be successfully eradi- cated by an endoscopic approach,offering a curative in- tention treatment with minimal *** therapies include resection techniques,also known as tissue-acquiring modalities,and ablation therapies or non-tissue acquiring *** aim of endoscopic treatment is to eradicate the whole Barrett’s segment,since the risk of developing synchronous and metachro- nous lesions due to the persistence of molecular aberra- tions in the residual epithelium is well established.

Modeling Violence Among and Against University Students in a Mexican Medium-Sized City

Violence against university students and among them is analyzed on campus and the household as well as the relationships of violence between these two social *** study was undertaken through an anonymous random survey in the two larger public universities in a Mexican medium-sized *** violence and types of violence-verbal,psychological,sexual,and physical-were evaluated by sex and by universities;and the aggressors were identified.A students’concept of violence was built,considering causes of intimate-partner violence,violence in general and ethical judgment on gender ***,it was measured the relationships between violence on campus and in the household using bivariate statistical *** indicate the main aggressors on campus are classmates and professors,whereas in the household are the mother,relatives together with the parents and relatives without the ***-campus,there were found statistically significant associations between professors-aggressors and students as victims of violence by *** the household,the bivariate analysis confirmed mothers as single aggressors and fathers exerting violence together with relatives against student-children;and direct relationships between on-campus(psychological and sexual violence)and domestic(physical and sexual violence).
