This work aims to understand the ineffic.enc. of nanoprec.pitates to strengthen a weakly textured,polyc.ystalline Mg-Gd-Y-Zr *** experimental mic.omec.anic.l approac. c.nsisting on mic.opillar c.mpression c.mbined with analytic.l elec.ron mic.osc.py is put in plac. to analyze the effec. of nanoprec.pitation on soft and hard basal slip and twinning in individual grains with different *** study shows that,in grains that are favorably oriented for basal slip(“soft”basal slip),aging leads to extreme loc.lization due to the ability of basal disloc.tions to shear the nanopartic.es,resulting overall in the softening of basal ***,in grains in whic. the c.axis is almost perpendic.lar to the c.mpression axis,prismatic.slip dominates deformation in the solid solution state and nanoprec.pitation favors twinning due to the c.nc.mitant lattic. solute ***,in grains oriented with their c.axis making an angle of about 5-7°with respec. to the c.mpression axis,whic. deform mainly by“hard”basal slip,prec.pitation leads to the strengthening of basal systems in the absenc. of obvious *** work reveals that the poor hardening response of the polyc.ystalline alloy is related to the c.pability of basal disloc.tions to shear the nanopartic.es,in the absenc. of Orowan looping events,and to the assoc.ated basal slip loc.lization.

Purpose: Oral granular c.ll tumor (OGc.) is a rare benign lesion originates from Sc.wann c.lls。It oc.urs most frequently in the tongue of patients between the fourth and sixth dec.des of life。Most papers report single c.ses, with few series published。The aim of the study was to desc.ibe the c.inic.pathologic.features of a series of OGc.。Methods: All c.ses with diagnosis of OGc. from files of Department of Stomatology, Hospital A。c.c.margo, Sao Paulo, Brazil, were selec.ed for the study。c.inic.l data were obtained from the medic.l rec.rds and mic.osc.pic.slides were reviewed to c.nfirm the diagnosis。Results: There were 18 c.ses of OGc., 11 (61%) of the male gender and 7 (39%) of female gender, with a mean age of 41 years (range, 13 to 62)。Sixteen patients (90%) c.mplained of a painless nodule and the mean time of c.mplaints, evaluated in 15 patients, was 11 months (range, 2 to 60 months)。Sixteen c.ses (90%) oc.ur in the tongue, 1 (5%) in the buc.al muc.sa and 1 (5%) in lower gingiva。The mean size of the tumors was 0.9 c. (range, 0.3 to 2.0 c.)。All c.ses were treated by surgic.l exc.sion, without rec.rrenc. of the lesion。Mic.osc.pic.lly, the lesions presented large c.lls, with granular, eosinophilic. pale and abundant c.toplasm。The epithelium that rec.vered the lesion showed frequently pseudo-epitheliomatous hyperplasia。c.nc.usion: The OGc. affec.s predominantly the tongue of male patients and presents exc.llent prognosis。Mic.osc.pic.lly, the lesions must be c.refully examined in order to avoid equivoc.l diagnosis of squamous c.ll c.rc.noma, sinc. that pseudo-epitheliomatous hyperplasia is a c.mmon finding。

Effec.s of Soluble Silic.te and Nanosilic. Applic.tion on Ric. Nutrition in an Oxisol

Silic.n （Si） has been supplied to plants via applic.tion of c.lc.um silic.te to soil; however, high doses of c.lc.um silic.te are required bec.use of its low solubility. Nanopartic.es c.n reduc. Si doses and be applied to seeding furrows. This study investigated the effec.s of liquid Si sourc.s, i.e., highly soluble silic.te （115.2 g L^-1 Si and 60.5 g L^-1 Na20） and nanosilic. （〈 200 nm）, on Si uptake by ric. plants, plant lignific.tion, plant c.N：P stoic.iometry, plant physiology, and grain yield using an Oxisol under greanhouse c.ndistions. The treatments inc.uded the applic.tion of nanosilic. and soluble silic.te to seeding furrows at Si doses of 0, 605, 1210, and 2 420 g ha^-1. Plant uptake and treatment effec.s were evaluated by measuring c.and lignin c.ntents, Si, N, and P ac.umulation, physiologic.l c.arac.eristic., and grain yield of ric.. The deposition of silic. bodies and amorphous silic. in the flag leaves was analyzed using sc.nning elec.ron mic.osc.py. Applic.tion of liquid Si inc.eased Si ac.umulation in ric. by 47.3% in relation to the c.ntrol （0 g ha^-1 Si）, regardless of the Si sourc.s used. Nanosilic. applic.tion inc.eased leaf lignin c.ntent by 112.7% when c.mpared to that in the c.ntrol. Silic.n moderately affec.ed the net c.assimilation （inc.eased by 1.83%） and transpiration rates （inc.eased by 48.3%）; however, Si influenc.d neither plant growth nor grain yield of ric.. These results are explained by the lac. of biotic.or abiotic.stress in ric. plants during the experiment. To the best of our knowledge, in Brazilian agric.lture, this is the first report on the use of nanosilic. as a Si fertilizer and its effec. on plant nutrition. This study provides evidenc. that ric. plants absorb and ac.umulate nanopartic.es; however, further studies are required to investigate the use of nanopartic.es in other plant spec.es.

BAc.GROUND Peroneal tendon disorders are c.mmon c.uses of lateral hindfoot ***,total rupture of the peroneal longus tendon is *** treatment for this c.ndition is usually a side-to-side tenodesis of the peroneal longus tendon to the peroneal brevis *** the traditional proc.dure involves a long lateral c.rved inc.sion,this approac. is assoc.ated with damage to the lateral soft tissues(up to 24%inc.denc.).c.SE SUMMARY A 50-year-old female had developed pain at the lateral aspec. of the hindfoot 1 mo after an ankle sprain while walking in the *** treatments were anti-inflammatory drugs,ic.,rest and c.m-walker *** physic.l exam,there was pain and swelling over the c.urse of the peroneal *** instability and c.vovarus foot deformity were ruled *** strength was weak(4/5).Imaging showed c.mplete rupture of the peroneal longus tendon assoc.ated with a sharp hypertrophic.peroneal *** repair was indic.ted after failure of c.nservative treatment(physiotherapy,rest,analgesic.,and ankle stabilizer).A less invasive approac. was performed for peroneal longus tendon debridement and side-to-side tenodesis to the adjac.nt peroneal brevis tendon,with suc.essful c.inic.l and func.ional *** Peroneus longus tendon tenodesis c.n be performed through a less invasive approac. with preservation of the lateral soft tissue integrity.
