AIM:To evaluate the management of pancreaticopleural fistulas involving early endoscopic instrumentation of the pancreatic ***:Eight patients with a spontaneous pancre-aticopleural fistula underwent endoscopic retrograde cholang iopancreatography(ERCP) with an intentionto stent the site of a ductal disruption as the primarytreatment. Imaging features and management were evaluated retrospectively and compared with ***:In one case,the stent bridged the site of aductal disruption. The fistula in this patient closed with in3 wk. The main pancreatic duct in this case appearednormal,except for a leak located in the body of the pancreas. In another patient,the papilla of Vater couldnot be found and cannulation of the pancreatic ductfailed. This patient underwent surgical treatment. In the remaining 6 cases,it was impossible to insert a stentinto the main pancreatic duct properly so as to coverthe site of leakage or traverse a stenosis situated down-stream to the fistula. The placement of the stent failed because intraductal stones(n = 2) and ductal strictures(n = 2) precluded its passage or the stent was too short to reach the fistula located in the distal part of the pancreas(n = 2) . In 3 out of these 6 patients,the pancre-aticopleural fistula closed on further medical *** these cases,the main pancreatic duct was normalor only mildly dilated,and there was a leakage at the body/tail of the pancreas. In one of these 3 patients,additional percutaneous drainage of the peripancre atic fluid collections allowed better control of the leakageand facilitated resolution of the fistula. The remaining3 patients had a tight stenosis of the main pancreatic duct resistible to dilatation and the stent could not beinserted across the stenosis. Subsequent conservative treatment proved unsuccessful in these patients. Aftera failed the rapeutic ERCP,3 patients in our series developed superinfection of the pleural or peripancreatic fluid collections. Four out of

This study presents the comparison of aerodynamic performances of two successive designs of the root profiles for the ultra-long rotor blade equipped with a straight fir-tree dovetail. Since aerodynamic and strength requirements laid upon the root section design are contradictory, it is necessary to aerodynamically optimize the design within the limits given by the foremost strength requirements. The most limiting criterion of the static strength is the size of the blade cross-section, which is determined by the number of blades in a rotor and also by the shape and size of a blade dovetail. The aerodynamic design requires mainly the zero incidence angle at the inlet of a profile and in the ideal case ensures that the load does not exceed a limit load condition. Moreover, the typical root profile cascades are transonic with supersonic exit Mach number, therefore, the shape of a suction side and a trailing edge has to respect transonic expansion of a working gas. In this paper, the two variants of root section profile cascades are compared and the aerodynamic qualities of both variants are verified using CFD simulation and two mutually independent experimental methods of measurements(optical and pneumatic).

Riboflavin （Rf） receptors bind and translocate Rf and its phosphorylated forms （e.g. flavin mononucleotide, FMN） into cells where they mediate various cellular metabolic pathways. Previously, we showed that FMN-coated ultrasmall superparamagnetic iron oxide （FLUSPIO） nanoparticles are suitable for labeling metabolically active cancer and endothelial cells in vitro. In this study, we focused on the in vivo application of FLUSPIO using prostate cancer xenografts. Size, charge, and chemical composition of FLUSPIO were evaluated. We explored the in vitro specificity of FLUSPIO for its cellular receptors using magnetic resonance imaging （MRI） and Prussian blue staining. Competitive binding experiments were performed in vivo by injecting free FMN in excess. Bio-distribution of FLUSPIO was determined by estimating iron content in organs and tumors using a colorimetric assay. AFM analysis and zeta potential measurements revealed a particulate morphology approximately 20-40 nm in size and a negative zeta potential （-24.23±0.15 mV） in water. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry data confirmed FMN present on the USPIO nanoparticle surface. FLUSPIO uptake in prostate cancer cells and human umbilical vein endothelial cells was significantly higher than that of control USPIO, while addition of excess of free FMN reduced accumulation. Similarly, in vivo MRI and histology showed specific FLUSPIO uptake by prostate cancer cells, tumor endothelial cells, and tumor-associated macrophages. Besides prominent tumor accumulation, FLUSPIO accumulated in the liver, spleen, lung, and skin. Hence, our data strengthen our hypothesis that targeting riboflavin receptors is an efficient approach to accumulate nanomedicines in tumors opening perspectives for the development of diagnostic and therapeutic systems.

Development of an Autonomous Flight Control System for Small Size Unmanned Helicopter Based on Dynamical Model

It is devoted to the development of an autonomous flight control system for small size unmanned helicopter based on dynamical model. At first, the mathematical model of a small size helicopter is described. After that simple but effective MTCV control algorithm was proposed. The whole flight control algorithm is composed of two parts: orientation controller based on the model for rotation dynamics and a robust position controller for a double integrator. The MTCV block is also used to achieve translation velocity control. To demonstrate the performance of the presented algorithm, simulation results and results achieved in real flight experiments were presented.

The rapidly oscillating Ap(roAp) stars exhibit pulsational photometric and/or radial velocity variations on time scales of several minutes, which are essential to test current pulsation models as well as our assumptions of atmospheric structure characteristics. In addition, their chemical peculiarity makes them very interesting for probing stellar formation and evolution in the presence of a global magnetic field. To date, a limited number of only 61 roAp stars is known to show photometric variability. On the other hand, a literature survey yields 619 unique stars that have unsuccessfully been searched for variability of this kind. Str o¨mgren-Crawford uvbyβ photometry of stars from both subgroups was used to investigate whether there is a selection bias for the investigated stars. We also present new photometric measurements(202 hours on 59 different nights) of 55 roAp candidates. We did not detect any new roAp star. Although our detection limits are comparable to other surveys, we also did not find pulsations in the known roAp star HD 12098, which may be a consequence of temporal amplitude changes. On the other hand, we do find some evidence for photometric variability of beta CrB at its spectroscopically derived pulsation period. From the uvbyβ photometry we conclude that the blue border of the roAp instability strip appears observationally well defined, whereas the red border is rather poorly known and *** these boundaries, a total of 4646 candidates were identified which appear worth investigating for short-term pulsational variability.

Comparison of cosmological models using standard rulers and candles

In this paper, we used standard rulers and standard candles （separately and jointly） to explore five popular dark energy models under the assumption of the spatial flatness of the Universe. As standard rulers, we used a data set comprised of 118 galactic scale strong lensing systems （individual standard rulers if properly calibrated for the mass density profile） combined with BAO diagnostics （statistical standard ruler）. Type Ia supernovae served as standard candles. Unlike most previous statistical studies involving strong lensing systems, we relaxed the assumption of a singular isothermal sphere （SIS） in favor of its generalization： the power-law mass density profile. Therefore, along with cosmological model parameters, we fitted the power law index and its first derivative with respect to the redshift （thus allowing for mass density profile evolution）. It turned out that the best fitted ~/parameters are in agreement with each other, irrespective of the cosmological model considered. This demonstrates that galactic strong lensing systems may provide a complementary probe to test the properties of dark energy. The fits for cosmological model parameters which we obtained are in agreement with alternative studies performed by other researchers. Because standard rulers and standard candles have different parameter degeneracies, a combination of stan- dard rulers and standard candles gives much more restrictive results for cosmological parameters. Finally, we attempted an analysis based on model selection using information theoretic criteria （AIC and BIC）. Our results support the claim that the cosmological constant model is still best and there is no （at least statistical） reason to prefer any other more complex model.

Catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation in elderly population

Background Although elderly patients have been included in published series of catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation （AF）, clinicalbenefit and safety remain still less defined in this population. A retrospective analysis of the results of catheter ablation for AF in a large volumecenter focused on comparison of elderly patients with the rest of the patient cohort was conducted in this study. Methods Consecutive patientswho underwent catheter ablation for AF between January 2001 and December 2016 were analysed. A total population of 3197 patients wasdichotomized by the age of 70 years （394 elderly vs. 2803 younger subjects）. Patients were followed in terms of arrhythmia status and sur-vival for a median period of 18 vs. 21 and 35 vs. 57 months, respectively. Results Elderly patients were more frequently females （49% vs.29%, P 〈 0.0001）, had a history of hypertension （79% vs. 57%, P 〈 0.0001）, diabetes （16% vs. 11%, P 〈 0.01）, stroke （9% vs. 6%, P 〈 0.01）,coronary/peripheral artery disease （14% vs. 8%, P 〈 0.0001）, and CHAzDS2-VASc score （3.1 ± 1.3 vs. 1.5 ± 1.2 s, P 〈 0.0001）. Major com-plications were more frequent in elderly （5.3% vs. 3.2%, P = 0.03）; however, this difference was driven by vascular complications （3.6% vs.1.9%, P = 0.04）. There were comparable rates of cerebrovascular （0.3 vs. 0.3%） or nonvascular complications （1.8 vs. 1.2%）. Good arrhyth-mia control was inferior in elderly patients as compared with the rest of the cohort, both without and with antiarrhythmic drugs： 44.2% vs.58.2% （P 〈 0.0001） and 78.2 vs. 83.2% （P 〈 0.01）, respectively. Poor arrhythmia control was associated with relative risk of all-cause mor-tality of 2.7 （95% CI： 1.1-6.4） in elderly patients and 1.4 （95% CI： 0.9-2.0） in younger subjects. Conclusions Catheter ablation for AF inelderly patients is safe although somewhat less effective. Good arrhythmia control is associated with better survival, especially in elderly patients.
