Background low crude protein(CP)formulations with supplemental amino acids(AA)are used to enhance intestinal health,reduce costs,minimize environmental impact,and maintain growth performance of ***,extensive reduction of dietary CP can compromise growth performance due to limited synthesis of non-essential AA and limited availability of bioactive compounds from protein supplements even when AA requirements are ***,implementing a low CP formulation can increase the net energy(NE)content in feeds causing excessive fat *** supplementation of functional AA,coupled with low CP formulation could further enhance intestinal health and glucose metabolism,improving nitrogen utilization,and growth *** experiments were conducted to evaluate the effects of low CP formulations with supplemental AA on the intestinal health and growth performance of growing-finishing *** In Exp.1,90 pigs(19.7±1.1 kg,45 barrows and 45 gilts)were assigned to 3 treatments:CON(18.0%CP,supplementing lys,Met,and Thr),lCP(16.0%CP,supplementing lys,Met,Thr,Trp,and Val),and lCPT(16.1%CP,lCP+0.05%sID Trp).In Exp.2,72 pigs(34.2±4.2 kg BW)were assigned to 3 treatments:CON(17.7%CP,meeting the requirements of lys,Met,Thr,and Trp);lCP(15.0%CP,meeting lys,Thr,Trp,Met,Val,Ile,and Phe);and VlCP(12.8%CP,meeting lys,Thr,Trp,Met,Val,Ile,Phe,His,and leu).In Exp.3,72 pigs(54.1±5.9 kg BW)were assigned to 3 treatments and fed experimental diets for 3 phases(grower 2,finishing 1,and finishing 2).Treatments were CON(18.0%,13.8%,12.7%CP for 3 phases;meeting lys,Met,Thr,and Trp);lCP(13.5%,11.4%,10.4%CP for 3 phases;meeting lys,Thr,Trp,Met,Val,Ile,and Phe);and lCPG(14.1%,12.8%,11.1%CP for 3 phases;lCP+Glu to match sID Glu with CON).All diets had 2.6 Mcal/kg *** In Exp.1,overall,the growth performance did not differ among *** lCPT increased(Plaudin-1 expression in the duodenum and *** lCP and lCPT increased(P<0.05)CAT-1,4F2hc,and B0AT exp

Mandibular advancement devices(MADs)are widely used treatments for obstructive sleep *** function by advancing the lower jaw to open the upper *** increase patient comfort,most patients allow the mouth to be ***,not all systems maintain the lower jaw in a forward position during mouth opening,which results in the production of a retrusion that favors the collapse of the upper ***,the kinematic behavior of the mechanism formed by the mandible-device assembly depends on jaw *** means that,during mouth opening,some devices cause lower jaw protrusion in some patients,but cause its retraction in *** this study,we report the behavior of well-known devices currently on *** do so,we developed a kinematic model of the lower jawdevice *** validated for all devices analyzed using a high-resolution camera *** results show that some of the devices analyzed here did not produce the correct behavior during patient mouth opening.

This work shows that despite a lattice mismatch of almost 20%, CdMnTe/CdTe/CdMnTe heterostructures grown directly on si(111) have surprisingly good optical emission properties. The investigated structures were grown by molecular beam epitaxy and characterized by scanning transmission electron microscopy, macro-and micro-photoluminescence. low temperature macro-photoluminescence experiments indicate three emission bands which depend on the CdTe layer thickness and have different confinement characteristics. Temperature measurements reveal that the lower energy emission band (at 1.48 eV)is associated to defects and bound exciton states, while the main emission at 1.61 eV has a weak 2D character and the higher energy one at 1.71 eV has a well-defined (zero-dimensional, 0D) 0D nature. Micro-photoluminescence measurements show the existence of sharp and strongly circularly polarized (up to 40%) emission lines which can be related to the presence of Mn in the heterostructure. This result opens the possibility of producing photon sources with the typical spin control of the diluted magnetic semiconductors using the low-cost silicon technology.

The present study was to evaluate the effect of trace minerals(Zn, Mn, and Cu) from complexed amino acid minerals(ZMCAA) and bis-glycinate chelated minerals(ZMCGly) in laying hen diets on performance,internal and external egg quality, yolk mineral deposition, intestinal morphometry, and bone characteristics. From 78 to 98 weeks of age, 400 White lsl-lite strain laying hens were distributed in a randomized design with 4 treatments with 10 replicates per treatment. Treatments were distributed in a 2 ×2 factorial arrangement using either Zn, Mn, and Cu of ZMCAA or ZMCGly source at 2 levels: low(20, 20,and 3.5 mg/kg of Zn, Mn, and Cu, respectively) or high(40, 40, and 7 mg/kg of Zn, Mn, and Cu,respectively). The analysis of variance was performed, and in cases where differences were observed, the means were compared using Tukey?s test(P source and level of trace mineral supplementation had a significant impact on the performance of laying hens. Hens fed ZMCAA had higher egg production(P = 0.01), egg weight(P = 0.02), egg mass(P = 0.01), and lower feed conversion ratio(P =0.05) compared to those fed ZMCGly. The ZMCAA supplementation showed higher albumen height(P =0.01), albumen weight(P = 0.01), and eggshell thickness(P sition of Zn(P olk was greater for hens received ZMCAA. Tibia weight(P = 0.04)and bone densitometry(P supplementation. In the small intestine, ZMCAA resulted in longer villi(P = 0.02) and shorter crypt depth(P = 0.01) in the *** and ileum measurements were influenced by the level and source of trace minerals(P laying hens fed ZMCAA exhibited superior performance, egg quality, deposition of trace minerals in the egg yolk, and bone density compared to hens fed ZMCGly. In this study, older laying hens supplemented with ZMCAA at lower levels demonstrated adequate levels of supplementation.

Protecting private data in smart homes,a popular Internet-of-Things(IoT)application,remains a significant data security and privacy challenge due to the large-scale development and distributed nature of IoT ***,smart healthcare has leveraged smart home systems,thereby compounding security concerns in terms of the confidentiality of sensitive and private data and by extension the privacy of the data ***,proof-of-authority(PoA)-based blockchain distributed ledger technology(DlT)has emerged as a promising solution for protecting private data from indiscriminate use and thereby preserving the privacy of individuals residing in IoT-enabled smart *** review elicits some concerns,issues,and problems that have hindered the adoption of blockchain and IoT(BCoT)in some domains and suggests requisite solutions using the aging-in-place *** issues with BCoT were examined as well as the combined challenges BCoT can pose when utilised for security *** study discusses recent findings,opportunities,and barriers,and provides recommendations that could facilitate the continuous growth of blockchain applications in ***,the study explored the potential of using a PoA-based permission blockchain with an applicable consent-based privacy model for decision-making in the information disclosure process,including the use of publisher-subscriber contracts for fine-grained access control to ensure secure data processing and sharing,as well as ethical trust in personal information disclosure,as a solution *** proposed authorisation framework could guarantee data ownership,conditional access management,scalable and tamper-proof data storage,and a more resilient system against threat models such as interception and insider attacks.

This study unveils a novel and potentially economical particulate discrete element modeling (DEM) technique for large-scale simulation of in-situ direct shear tests (DsT) and plate load tests， aimed at accurately determining the shear strength and bearing capacity of granular soil foundations， and exploring the key factors influencing these properties. To overcome the limitations associated with the oversimplification of particle shapes， this work introduces an innovative contact model based on the Hertz contact mechanism that incorporates rolling resistance， enhancing the model’s ability to simulate realistic particle interactions. Guided by Prandtl’s foundation bearing-capacity theory， the dimensions of the foundation model for the DsT and plate load tests were meticulously calculated to reflect realistic conditions. DEM simulations showed the peak friction angle from in-situ DsT to be consistently lower than laboratory DsT， due to a smaller dilatation angle， while proposed loading methods for plate load tests established linear relationships between the foundation’s ultimate bearing capacity and its dimensions， also defining the capacity envelope. Crucially， this study highlights a crucial finding: in-situ direct shear tests (DsT) conducted under high normal stress may lead to foundation failure， indicating that excessive normal stress should be avoided to ensure the accuracy of in-situ shear test data and its subsequent applicability in engineering design.
