This paper aims to systematically investigate the cataracting-centrifuging tra.s.tion in a rotary drum involving spherical and nonspherical particles by using the Multiphase Granular Eulerian Model(MGEM).The effects of drum length and particle shape on the cataracting-centrifuging tra.s.tion behavior were *** results showed that drum length pla.s.an important role in the cataracting-centrifuging tra.s.tion,although most related works in the literature do not consider *** particle shape a.s. significantly affects the cataracting-centrifuging tra.s.tion *** particles required lower rotation speeds than spherical particles to reach the centrifuging *** particle shape was shown to be related to the critical solid fraction(asc)from schaeffer’s model,although further investigations are required to completely correlate particle spherecity with critical solid volume fractions.

Comprehensive studies identify motor neuron spectrum disorders including amyotrophic lateral sclerosis(a.s.as globally rising fatal disorders with the highest prevalence in aging populations,influenced by ethnicity and ancestry(GBD 2016 Motor Neuron Disease Colla borators,2018).While~10% of diagnoses involve a family history(fa.s.,most cases are considered sporadic(sa.s..However,population-based studies suggest that even cases without a common index mutation impart heritability(Ryan et al.,2019),indicating a crucial role of rare and as yet unknown genetic denominators.

Numerous industrial applications of spouted beds involve a mixture of granular particles, where differences in particle size, density, and shape can ca.s. particle segregation, affecting the quality of flow and decreasing product homogeneity. The aim of this study was to investigate the particle segregation and fluid dynamics of a conical spouted bed operating with a binary mixture of particles of different densities. Using gla.s.bea.s.and polyethylene particles with a diameter of 4 mm, we determined the effects of the ma.s.fraction of denser particles and static bed height on the minimum spouting condition and mixture index. The pressure drop and airflow in the minimum spouting condition increased with an increase in bed height or jetsam concentration. Regarding particle segregation, the jetsam particles tended to concentrate near the bottom, at the spout–annulus interface beca.s. they have a.s.orter trajectory than the lighter particles in the fountain region. Jetsam-rich mixtures with high initial static bed heights exhibited more efficient particle mixing, excluding those at the bottom of the bed.

A new protocol that enables asymmetric hydroaminomethylation of styrenes to afford chiral amines has been developed. Catalysed by an Rh-phosphine species and a chiral phosphoric acid, styrenes are converted into β-chiral amines with good enantioselectivities under syngas in the presence of an amine and Hantzsch ester. The reaction involves two key steps, hydroformylation and reductive amination, with the former catalysed by the Rh species whilst the latter by the phosphoric acid.

We introduce the equivalent sources for the Helmholtz equation and estab-lish their connections to the naturally induced sources for the sound-soft,sound-hard,and impedance obstacles for the inverse scattering problems of the Helmholtz *** two applications,we employ the naturally induced sources to improve the bound-ary integral equation formulations for the obstacle scattering problems,and develop a unified,straightforward approach to establishing boundary conditions governing the domain derivatives of scattered waves for the soft,hard,and impedance obstacles.
