Transcriptome analysis reveals immune-related genes in tissues of Vibrio anguillarum-infected turbot Scophthalmus maximus

Turbot Scophthalmus maximus is an important mariculture fish species with high economic ***,the bacterial diseases caused by Vibrio anguillarum infection bring huge economic losses to the turbot aquaculture *** understand the immune response of the turbot against *** infection and to explore novel immune-related genes,the transcriptome analysis of turbot spleen and gills were conducted after *** *** expressed genes(DEGs)were identified in spleen and gill of the turbot amounted to 17261 and 16436,respectively.A large number of immunerelated DEGs were enriched in cytokine-cytokine receptor interaction signaling pathway,and the others by the kyoto encyclopedia of genes and genomes(KEGG)*** gene ontology(GO)classification analysis revealed that *** infection had the greatest effect on biological processes and cellular *** immune-related DEGs were identified in the spleen(cstl.1,egfl6,lamb21,v2rx4,calcr,and gpr78a)and gills(ghra,sh3gl2a,cst12,inhbaa,cxcl8,and il-1b)by heat *** proteinprotein interaction(PPI)networks were constructed to analyze the immune *** results demonstrate that the maturation and antigen processing of major histocompatibility complex(MHC)class II molecule,and calcitonin-or adrenomedullin-regulated physiological activity were important events in the immunity of turbot against *** *** the gills,the protein interactions in TGF-βsignaling pathway,production of inflammatory factors,and endocytosis regulation were most *** research laid a foundation for discovering novel immune-related genes and enriching the knowledge of immune mechanisms of turbot against *** infection.

Wheat is a critical crop,extensively consumed worldwide,and its production enhancement is essential to meet escalating *** presence of diseases like stem rust,leaf rust,yellow rust,and tan spot significantly diminishes wheat yield,making the early and precise identification of these diseases vital for effective disease *** advancements in deep learning algorithms,researchers have proposed many methods for the automated detection of disease pathogens;however,accurately detectingmultiple disease pathogens simultaneously remains a *** challenge arises due to the scarcity of RGB images for multiple diseases,class imbalance in existing public datasets,and the difficulty in extracting features that discriminate between multiple classes of disease *** this research,a novel method is proposed based on Transfer Generative Adversarial Networks for augmenting existing data,thereby overcoming the problems of class imbalance and data *** study proposes a customized architecture of Vision Transformers(ViT),where the feature vector is obtained by concatenating features extracted from the custom ViT and Graph Neural *** paper also proposes a Model AgnosticMeta Learning(MAML)based ensemble classifier for accurate *** proposedmodel,validated on public datasets for wheat disease pathogen classification,achieved a test accuracy of 99.20%and an F1-score of 97.95%.Compared with existing state-of-the-art methods,this proposed model outperforms in terms of accuracy,F1-score,and the number of disease pathogens *** future,more diseases can be included for detection along with some other modalities like pests and weed.

Obstacle removal in crowd evacuation is critical to safety and the evacuation system efficiency. Recently, manyresearchers proposed game theoreticmodels to avoid and remove obstacles for crowd evacuation. Game theoreticalmodels aim to study and analyze the strategic behaviors of individuals within a crowd and their interactionsduring the evacuation. Game theoretical models have some limitations in the context of crowd evacuation. Thesemodels consider a group of individuals as homogeneous objects with the same goals, involve complex mathematicalformulation, and cannot model real-world scenarios such as panic, environmental information, crowds that movedynamically, etc. The proposed work presents a game theoretic model integrating an agent-based model to removethe obstacles from exits. The proposed model considered the parameters named: (1) obstacle size, length, andwidth, (2) removal time, (3) evacuation time, (4) crowd density, (5) obstacle identification, and (6) route *** proposed work conducts various experiments considering different conditions, such as obstacle types, obstacleremoval, and several obstacles. Evaluation results show the proposed model’s effectiveness compared with existingliterature in reducing the overall evacuation time, cell selection, and obstacle removal. The study is potentially usefulfor public safety situations such as emergency evacuations during disasters and calamities.

为探究食物主要营养成分对花鼠(Tamias sibiricus)肠道菌群结构的影响,以人工饲料饲喂花鼠,以野外自由取食为对照,通过粪便采样,以16S rRNA高通量测序分析花鼠肠道菌群组成。依据食物来源和饲料中脂肪、淀粉含量的不同,将被饲喂的花鼠分为野外组、脂肪组、淀粉组和饲料组。结果显示:不同饲喂条件下,花鼠肠道菌群的优势菌门均为厚壁菌门(Firmicutes)、拟杆菌门(Bacteroidetes)和变形菌门(Proteobacteria),优势菌属为Muribaculaceae_norank和联合乳杆菌属(Ligilactobacillus)。多样性分析显示,野外组肠道菌群物种丰度和多样性较高,但野外组与淀粉组菌群组成相似度较高。相关性分析表明,厚壁菌门与粗蛋白含量呈显著正相关,拟杆菌门与淀粉和粗纤维含量呈显著正相关、与粗脂肪含量呈显著负相关,放线菌门(Actinobacteria)与粗蛋白含量呈显著正相关。研究表明食物成分变化影响了花鼠肠道菌群的组成、结构和丰富度;食物主要营养成分与特定菌群存在显著相关性。

Distribution of persistent organic pollutants in aggregate fractions of a temperate forest and semi-rural soil

The fate of persistent organic pollutants (POPs) and their interactions with aggregates of forest soils are not completely understood. Our objectives here were to quantify the distribution of different POPs in water-stable aggregate fractions and to study their influence on soil organic carbon (Corg) content. Soil samples were taken from a forest-site, Gogerddan (G) and a semi-rural site, Hazelrigg (H) in Great Britain, from 0-2 and 2-5 cm and 0-4 and 8-12 cm soil depth, respectively. POPs analyzed were PAHs, PCBs, total DDT, PBDEs and HCB. The bulk soil analysis showed that the concentration of POPs was significantly higher (p ≤ 0.05) in forest site G than in semi-rural site H, particularly at the surface soil levels compared to the subsurface soil depths in both sites. Total concentrations of PCBs and PAHs of both sites were positively correlated with Corg contents. POPs concentrations and Corg, Nt contents of forest site G were significantly higher (p ≤ 0.05) in water-stable macro aggregates (>0.25, >1, >2 mm) than the micro aggregates (>0.053 mm). The POP concentrations of all aggregate fractions after normalizing to their respective Corg content were increased due higher contamination and strong sorption by Corg. These results showed a strong effect of Corg on the partitioning of organic pollutants to soil aggregate size fractions. The present study affirms the ecological significance of forest soils act as a potential sink of POPs. In summary, our results suggest that aggregate fractions may promote soil C storage and act as a potential POP sink in surface soil without increasing their concentration in the aggregate fraction of subsoil.

RNA 5-methylcytosine(m^5C)sites perform a major role in numerous biological processes and commonly reported in both DNA and RNA *** enzymatic mechanism and biological functions of m^5C sites in DNA remain the focusing area of researchers for last few ***,the investigators also targeted m^5C sites in RNA due to its cellular functions,positioning and formation ***,several rudimentary roles of the m^5C in RNA have been explored,but a lot of improvements are still under ***,the identification of RNA methylcytosine sites was carried out via experimental methods,which were very hard,erroneous and time consuming owing to partial availability of recognized *** at the significance of m^5C role in RNA,scientists have diverted their attention from structure to sequence-based *** this regards,an intelligent computational model is proposed in order to identify m^5C sites in RNA with high *** RNA sequences formulation methods namely:pseudo dinucleotide composition,pseudo trinucleotide composition and pseudo tetra nucleotide composition are applied to extract variant and high profound numerical *** a sequel,the vector spaces are fused to build a hybrid space in order to compensate the weakness of each *** learning hypotheses are examined to select the best operational engine,which can truly identify the pattern of the target *** strength and generalization of the proposed model are measured using two different cross validation *** reported outcomes reveal that the proposed model achieved 3%better accuracy than that of the highest present approach in the literature so far.

This thesis examines the relationship between financial leverage and dividend policy of 20 companies,listed with Pakistan Stock Exchange during the period 2011 to *** data was collected from annual and financial reports of individual companies for six years thus complete business *** of interest was extracted,and analyzed using SPSS Version *** policy,vastly followed by the companies,was tested by applying the extended model of Linter（1956）with the debt ratio of the firm,the previous year’s dividend yield as its independent variables and change in earnings as a dummy *** first,the descriptive statistics for our entire variables were calculated and then correlation matrix was calculated to identify the preliminary relationship among all the variables,followed by regression analysis on panel data to examine the significance between the dependent and *** assertions were justified through model that the level of corporate debt（leverage）and widely practiced dividend policy,significantly,affect the dividend policy of the Pakistani *** the other hand,financial leverage was found to have from the findings,the study revealed that there exists a negative impact on dividend per share,indicating less dividend payments by high-debt *** findings also revealed/confirmed that change in earnings has no significant impact on dividend policy in case of Pakistani firms while the dividend yield has positive impact and vice *** model,applied for the study,supports only the significant effect of dividend yield on dividend per share.

Lipase inhibitory activity of Lagenaria siceraria fruit as a strategy to treat obesity

Objective:To explore pancreatic lipase inhibitory activity under different extraction conditions in order to track the most potent ***:The methanolic extract and its fractions in solvents of increasing polarity,ether,chloroform,ethyl acetate,n-butanol and water,were made through cold *** in ethanol,ethyl acetate,acetone and chloroform were similarly *** extract was prepared through hot decoction method.A reported method was used to determine lipase inhibitory activity of extracts and fractions over wide ranges of ***:The extracts and fractions exhibited concentration dependent *** IC50(μg/mL)values of methanolic,ethanolic,chloroform,ethyl acetate,acetone,ethyl acetate(after washing with water)and aqueous decoction were 293.40,266.47,157.59,182.12,352.34,257.00,and 190.00,*** activity of chloroform,ethyl acetate and aqueous extracts were close to that of the drug orlistat(IC50 146μg/mL).Out of the fractions of the methanolic extract,the chloroform fraction was most active(IC50 189.6μg/mL).The order of inhibitory activity of the fractions was as follows:chloroform>ether>n-butanolic>aqueous>ethyl *** GC/MS analysis of the most active chloroform faction showed the presence of hexadecanoic acid,methyl hexadecanoate,isopropyl palmitate,methyl 9,12-octadecadienate,and methyl 9,12,***:The study suggests that Lagenaria siceraria has potential to inhibit pancreatic lipase activity,suppressing lipid digestion and thereby diminishing entry of lipids into the *** intake of aqueous decoction of the fruit may therefore be recommended for control of *** acids and their esters may play role as inhibitors of lipase.

The use of electronic communication has been significantly increased over the last few *** is one of the most well-known means of electronic *** email applications are widely used by a large population;however,illiterate and semi-illiterate people face challenges in using them.A major population of Pakistan is illiterate that has little or no practice of computer *** this paper,we investigate the challenges of using email applications by illiterate and semi-illiterate *** addition,we also propose a solution by developing an application tailored to the needs of illiterate/semi-illiterate *** shows that illiterate people are good at learning the designs that convey information with pictures instead of text-only,and focus more on one object/action at a *** proposed solution is based on designing user interfaces that consist of icons and vocal/audio instructions instead of ***,we use background voice/audio which is more helpful than flooding a picture with a lot of *** tested our application using a large number of users with various skill levels(from no computer knowledge to experts).Our results of the usability tests indicate that the application can be used by illiterate people without any training or third-party’s help.
