In-situ physical/chemical cross-linked hydrogel electrolyte achieving ultra-stable zinc anode-electrolyte interface towards dendrite-free zinc ion battery

Hydrogen evolution reaction（HER）,zinc corrosion,and dendrites growth on zinc metal anode are the major issues limiting the practical applications of zinc-ion ***,an in-situ physical/chemical cross-linked hydrogel electrolyte（carrageenan/polyacrylamide/ZnSO4,denoted as CPZ） has been developed to stabilize the zinc anode-electrolyte interface,which can eliminate side reactions and prevent dendrites *** in-situ CPZ hydrogel electrolyte improves the reversibility of zinc anode due to eliminating side reactions caused by active water ***,the electrostatic interaction between the SO4-groups in CPZ and Zn2+can encourage the preferential deposition of zinc atoms on（002） crystal plane,which achieve dendrite-free and homogeneous zinc *** in-situ hydrogel electrolyte offers a streamlined approach to battery manufacturing by allowing for direct integration into the ***,the Zn//Zn half battery with CPZ hydrogel electrolyte can enable an ultra-long cycle over 5500 h at a current density of 0.5 mA cm-2,and the Zn//Cu half battery reach an average coulombic efficiency of 99.37%.The Zn//V2O5-GO full battery with CPZ hydrogel electrolyte demonstrates94.5% of capacity retention after 2100 *** study is expected to open new thought for the development of commercial hydrogel electrolytes for low-cost and long-life zinc-ion batteries.

Liquid phase synthesis of dendritic nickel carbide alloy with high conductivity for advanced energy storage

Alloy materials have attracted increasing attentions because they possess superior electrical conductivity which can contribute to excellent electrochemical performance. Herein a dendritic Ni;C alloy material has been prepared by the pyrolysis of nickel acetylacetonate employing oleylamine as a reductant and 1-octadecene or octadecane as the solvent. The current–voltage curves indicating that the electrical conductivity of Ni;C is higher than that of nickel oxide. Electrochemical testing indicates that a high specific capacity of 390 C/g is found in alkaline electrolyte at 0.5 A/g, and deliver excellent rate characteristic as well as cycle life. The excellent electrochemical performance may be attributed to its high electrical conductivity and dendritic nanostructure that can promote diffusion of electrolyte ions. In addition, the AC//Ni;C asymmetric supercapacitor has been assembled at a cell voltages between 0 and 1.6 V, achieving a maximum energy density of 37 Wh/kg（at a power density of 0.3995 k W/kg）, and this manifests that the Ni;C alloy is a promising electrode material for electrochemical energy storage.

Design strategy and relevant flow mechanisms of highly loaded 3D compressor tandem cascades

To investigate the design strategy of highly loaded tandem cascades at both the midspan and endwall,the overall performance and flow mechanisms of four typical tandem cascades based on the optimization were analyzed from multiple perspectives *** results show that the interference effects on the Front Blade(FB)and Rear Blade(RB)should not be overlooked during the design phase,and the design strategies at the midspan and endwall are completely *** the midspan,the optimization aims to increase the interference effects and the strength of the gap jet while maintaining the same load on the FB and ***,the endwall optimal airfoil exhibits weakening interference effects,advancement of the gap jet location,and load transfer from the FB to *** further analysis of flow characteristics,the midspan optimal airfoil is beneficial for inhibiting the low-energy fluid from interacting with the suction surface of RB under the design condition,but results in earlier occurrence of corner *** endwall optimal airfoil helps suppress the development of the secondary flow and delay the onset of corner ***,by combining the benefits of these two design approaches,additional forward sweep effects are achieved,further enhancing the performance of the tandem cascade.

Oxygenated organic molecules(OOMs)play an important role in the formation of secondary organic aerosols(SOAs),but the mixing states of OOMs are still *** study investigates the mixing states of OOM-containing single particles from the measurements taken using a single particle aerosol mass spectrometer in Guangzhou,China in ***,the particle counts of OOM particles and the mass concentration of secondary organic carbon(SOC)exhibited similar temporal trends throughout the entire *** OOM particles were consistently enriched in secondary ions,including ^(16)O^(−),^(26)CN^(−),^(46)NO_(2)^(−),^(62)NO_(3)^(−),and ^(97)HSO_(4)^(−).In contrast,the number fractions and diurnal patterns of OOM particles among the total detected particles showed similar distributions in August and October;however,the SOC ratios in fine particulate matter were quite different,suggesting that there were different mixing states of single-particle oxygenated *** addition,further classification results indicated that the OOM particles were more aged in October than August,even though the SOC ratios were higher in ***,the distribution of hydrocarbon fragments exhibited a notable decrease from January to October,emphasizing the more aged state of the organics in *** addition,the sharp increase in elemental carbon(EC)-OOM particles in the afternoon in October suggests the potential role of EC in the aging process of ***,in contrast to the bulk analysis of SOC mass concentration,the mixing states of the OOM particles provide insights into the formation process of SOAs in field studies.

Optimization of the co-closing law of guide vanes and blades for bulb turbines based on CFD

The load rejection transient process of bulb turbine units is critical to safety of hydropower stations,and determining appropriate closing laws of guide vanes(GVs)and runner blades(RBs)for this process is of *** this study,we proposed a procedure to optimize the co-closing law of GVs and RBs by using computational fluid dynamics(CFD),combined with the design of experiment(DOE)method,approximation model,and genetic optimization *** sensitivity of closing law parameters on the histories of head,speed,and thrust was analyzed,and a two-stage GVs’closing law associating with a linear RBs’closing law was *** results show that GVs dominate the transient characteristics by controlling the change of *** GVs’first-stage closing speed while shortening first-stage closing time can not only significantly reduce the maximum rotational speed but also suppress the water hammer pressure;slowing GVs’second-stage closing speed is conducive to controlling the maximum reverse axial *** directly affect the runner *** RBs’closing speed can further reduce the rotational speed and the maximum reverse axial *** safety margin of each control parameter,flow patterns,and pressure pulsations of a practical hydropower station were all improved after optimization,demonstrating the effectiveness of this method.

Modeling and analysis of air combustion and steam regeneration in methanol to olefins processes

Light olefins is the incredibly important materials in chemical *** to olefins(MTO),which provides a non-oil route for light olefins production,received considerable attention in the past ***,the catalyst deactivation is an inevitable feature in MTO processes,and regeneration,therefore,is one of the key steps in industrial MTO *** the MTO catalyst is regenerated by removing the deposited coke via air combustion,which unavoidably transforms coke into carbon dioxide and reduces the carbon utilization *** study shows that the coke species over MTO catalyst can be regenerated via steam,which can promote the light olefins yield as the deactivated coke species can be essentially transferred to industrially useful synthesis gas,is a promising pathway for further MTO processes *** this work,we modelled and analyzed these two MTO regeneration methods in terms of carbon utilization efficiency and technology *** shown,the steam regeneration could achieve a carbon utilization efficiency of 84.31%,compared to 74.74%for air combustion *** MTO processes using steam regeneration can essentially achieve the near-zero carbon *** addition,light olefins production of the MTO processes using steam regeneration is 12.81%higher than that using air combustion *** this regard,steam regeneration could be considered as a potential yet promising regeneration method for further MTO processes,showing not only great environmental benefits but also competitive economic performance.

Quantum phase transition of the Jaynes-Cummings model

Herein,we propose an experimentally feasible scheme to show the quantum phase transition of the Jaynes-Cummings(JC)model by modulating the transition frequency of a two-level system in a quantum Rabi model with strong *** tuning the modulation frequency and amplitude,the ratio of the effective coupling strength of the rotating terms to the effective cavity(atomic transition)frequency can enter the deep-strong coupling regime,while the counter-rotating terms can be ***,a deep-strong JC model is *** ratio of the coupling strength to resonance frequencies in the deep-strong JC model is two orders of magnitude larger than the corresponding ratio in the original quantum Rabi *** scheme can be employed in atom-cavity resonance and off-resonance cases,and it is valid over a broad *** nonzero average cavity photons of the ground state indicate the emergence of a quantum phase ***,we demonstrate the dependence of the phase diagram on the atom-cavity detuning and modulation *** the parameters used in our scheme are within the reach of current experimental *** scheme provides a new mechanism for investigating the critical phenomena of finite-sized systems without requiring classical field limits,thereby opening a door for studying fundamental quantum phenomena occurring in the ultrastrong and even deep-strong coupling regimes.
